What a year, what a year. While everyone else includes DVDs in their best and worst lists, I solely focus on films that hit theaters. While compiling my lists, I couldn't believe how hard it was to pick ten films that I felt were worth even mentioning as "the best". While I barely succeeded, the worst list was much easier, which was pretty disappointing from my standpoint. That means this was a lousy year for horror and that the majority of horror films released were bad. Looking forward to 2009, I can't say I expect anything different next year, but one can only hope... beyond the break you can check out my list of the worst horror films of 2008. Don't forget you can chime in with your own lists and thoughts below, or write your own reviews in our MoviePit.
"The real problem is that there's absolutely nothing original here and it's obvious they tried to take what works and recycle it. It lacks suspense ..." Click here for the full review.
"But here's the real shocker, the statement that will blow all of your minds... this is one movie that you will be hoping for a twist ending! When there's nothing happening for 90-minutes (other than some random deaths), all you can hope for is a finale that sends you out of the theater smiling, instead you'll walk out perplexed as to what you have just witnessed, which is Shyamalan failing to deliver once again. What's that I hear? Sounds like the the wind is telling me I should have avoided this one..." Click here for the full review.
“Aja attempts to take a slow-burning ghost story and turn it into one of his over-the-top gorefests and loses the essence of the story in his endeavors… before wasting any money on this at theaters, you should probably reflect on it a bit…“ Click here for the full review.
"SAW V attempts to make the audience feel smart for sticking along for so long, only when it’s all said and done you’ll feel like a fool for sitting through this disappointment." Click here for the full review.
"While [Rob Cohen] definitely has delivered another hit for the studio, it’s unforgivable how dumbed-down the final product is... The best way to describe this latest MUMMY entry would be to compare the audience to a cat and the film to a ball of yard. Writers Alfred Gough and Miles Millar treat the audience as a simple cat with a small brain - stupid enough that a ball of yard will amuse them for hours." Click here for the full review.
I'm still shocked that there are people that liked this movie. During my horrible experience in the theater, I took the time to write down each and every scare in the movie. There were 12 altogether, three of them were mirror scares (read about it here)! While the movie started out pretty good, it falls flat on its face. Yes, I understand the movie was made for 13-year-olds, but it's not even a good movie for kids. If you want to see a studio butchered, half-assed remake, check this out.
"The original was a rip-off and it rocked, so there’s no reason for the remake to suck as bad as it did. SHUTTER should have been the scariest horror film since THE RING, but instead it was infuriatingly bad. This joins ONE MISSED CALL in the ranks of worst horror remakes of all-time and I highly recommend skipping this one in favor of the original, which is now available on DVD from Tartan Extreme." Click here for the full review.
It has been nearly a year since I've seen this remake of the quasi-interesting Takashi Miike film of the same name. When the original is so disappointing, then I'm fully game for a remake - if and only if it's better. What I remember is a film that had zero scares and loads of crappy special effects, alongside horrid acting from Ed Burns. I do recall having fun laughing at the movie, so maybe there are some redeemable values?
"X-FILES: I WANT TO BELIEVE is a slow burn, but the fire never catches on. It’s all talk, no action and is guaranteed to leave the audience with the worst case of blue balls they’ve had in years. Here’s an explanation; basically there is no climax – and that is meant both literally and figuratively.“ Click here for the full review.
"Completing Roadside Attractions’ HOUSE was physically draining, which is something a viewer should never have to endure when in theaters. The adaptation of the novel by Frank Peretti and Ted Dekker is preachy, whiney and painfully cliché." Click here for the full review.
"ANIMALS fails on every single level and left me in a state of shock. When it was all said and done I would have needed to fill an entire notebook to list all of the problems. I highly recommend watching this film only to witness what is one of the single worst horror movies ever made. Although difficult to make it from start to finish, it’s so bad that it actually becomes captivating." Click here for the full review.
A Special Shout-out
I'd like to give a special shout-out to this year's laundry list of sh*tty direct-to-DVD sequels. I'm sorry, but Feast II: Sloppy Seconds is a disaster of a film that features horrible special FX, green screen work and carries zero laughs. The movie turned out nothing like the screenplay, which was an anti-cliche delight. Gulager killed what could have been another cult film in the franchise (although I will give props to the giant penis on the midget). Speaking of Dimension Extreme, let's thank them for two horrible sequels to PULSE, both of which look they were shot on a soundstage (the same as the ending of FEAST II?). And a very special thanks to both Fox Home Video and Warner Home Video for their horrid trucker sequels Joy Ride 2: Dead Ahead and Rest Stop 2: Don't Look Back. I would do anything to get three hours of my life back.
Final Thoughts
20th Century Fox, what the f*ck? Three horrible horror films? It's time to take a look at your development team and ask, are they doing the right thing by horror fans? Are they tampering with the artists work too much? Only they know and only they can make amends in 2009.
Mr. Disgusting says The Strangers was so horridly unoriginal, while he has more unoriginal movies on his best list. Quarantine, The Midnight Meat Train, Rouge, and The Ruins were all as unoriginal, if not more unoriginal than The Strangers. Especially Rouge and Quarantine, which were so unoriginal they were blatant cliches within cliches. That's just being inconsistent with reviewing. The Strangers was probably one of the few good theatrical releases this year.
Difference between Strangers is it was attempting to look clever and unique, while it was literally STEALING everything. Quarantine never hide behind the fact it was a remake, Midnight Meat Train is totally original, Rogue was AWESOME and The Ruins was an adaptation of an old book=totally original. Strangers sucks, and that's that. And please don't compare me to Ebert, he gives every single horror movie zero stars.... eff that crap. Maybe when I'm 65 and they've remade every movie twice over I'll become an Ebert wannabe (just for you).
It's about killer plants. It's been done hundreds of times. And I actually read the book. It was easily one of the top 10 most cliched novels I've ever read. Movie followed suit.
only one i would disagree with is The Strangers. while it's not one of the best of the year, i certainly didnt think it was one of the worst. all the pg-13 remakes sucked huge dong though.
But the plants talked! Only time I remember such enchanting greenery was in Little Shop of Horrors. If only the plants sang in Ruins, then maybe it would be kinda original?
By structure, sir. You compare turds by structure. The X-Files film was written much better than Saw 38,349 (I'm starting to think Feast was a fluke), and better executed, too. Sure, it wasn't what I was hoping for... but it still made me all warm and fuzzy.
i liked the strangers and mirrors the rest made me want to put my balls in a waffle iron, i haven't seen feast 2 yet, im pissed to hear its not good at all, the first one was great
the strangers was boring as fuck like an hour of suspence ten min of something that you don't get to see happen happen then end wow great movie and the happening was very entertaining in the way that i couldn't stop laughing at every death scene in there
I only got around to seeing The Happening yesterday and I cant believe how hard my jaw hit the ground in reaction to how bad it was. Check out my user review!
I actually liked The Strangers. It was refreshing to see something that was suspensful and eerie in a time when scary movies aren't scary, just filled with gore.
-The strangers was bad, but worst? no
-Prom night? i ate SALT POPCORN to endure this film! This should be number one!
-SAW V- it was bad yes, but the end, oh the end! where's a white cat and the james bond theme when you need it!
-mirrors- oh kiefer, your going to be stuck with jack bauer for ever won't you? it was a bad x-files episode.
-and we come to x-files 2. after the second half of the dark knght, i hoped, i prayed for this to be good. alas twas not. Mulder was better than he has ever been, but scully had a stick up her ass. Kind of like liv tyler's character in 'the strangers'. the rest i haven't seen. blighty's cinema's are not the place for horror films unfortunately.
Finally a list that has only theatrical horror movies since I don't think direct to video counts. I however didn't think The Happening nor Prom Night was that horrid even though they were highly flawed. I think The Strangers was highly overrated and fine to see it on your list even though there probably were some worse flicks than that this year. I think The Eye should be there as well.
I loved The Strangers and semi-enjoyed Mirrors, and even Prom Night (as a horror movie, it sucked, but it was still sort of fun to watch), but I totally agree with the rest of your list. I think The Happening should be higher (or lower, depending on how you look at it) on the list...that was just awful.
Why does everyone love The strangers. It sucked. This is coming from someone that loves The shining, The exorcist, The texas chain saw massacre and knew the film ever since they changed the date. I saw it and was hugely disappointed. Seriously. The whole hour the people don't do crap. And Hel-lo why would you go outside where someone can kill you and leave your girlfriend alone. God. The ending sucks eggs to. Oh sure since it has no blood or gore and no sex scenes what that's original? The strangers was crap. It's not the best movie of the year. I'll tell Cloverfield, The ruins, Rogue. Now those are the best of the year! Now for the list. I disagree with Saw V and The happening I thought those were decent. And for One missed call I'd put that for #10. Other than that your list looks great!
While it did borrow from Ils aka Them The Strangers was great and yes it had suspense. Saw 5 was terrible and The Happening was a mess. As for the rest I didn't even bother and why would I? I'm not a 13 year old anymore. As for plants Day of the Triffids has enchanting greenery.
what the hell?
the strangers was original in the fact that all other suspence flicks with masked killers end with a reason why and use music to warn when the bad guy appears this movie had neither which make it amazing!! Saw is a repetitive series but 5 was actually good, and mirrors was cool too with a badass fight scene near the end! and last house was okay, the tin man was cool!
all the other pg-13 pansy movies did suck
I am happy to see The Strangers on this list. As I said before, it's not a horror movie. Mirrors I have not seen yet and also Saw V. Prom Night I would not even waste my time with. As for the others on the list, some I did see others I didn't and there is a reason for that, THEY SUCK!!!!
No surprise that this list is complete shit. The only thing that I find funnier than this terrible list is that Mr. D is attempting to defend himself. It's sad that he doesnt see that most of his reviews are just crap.
I disagree with Saw V -- it had some of the best traps of the series, and no way was it worse the The Happening. Anyway, Saw V shouldn't be on this list. But I completely agree with Mirrors and The Strangers
the happening was not has bad has i thought considering Night Shyamalan other films where crap.. sort of enjoyed it....yes X-FILES: I WANT TO BELIEVE what a load of shit no 2 but could have easily been no 1.
say what you want people still went to see Strangers and Saw V and will continue to see the sequels and you may say that the Strangers is unoriginal who gives a fuck? It was still brutal and tense enough for me to add it to my collection. But that's what's fun about this site--the different opinions.
Great list Mr. D, I only wish The Strangers would have been higher on the list. Having seen Ils(Them) first (which I loved), I was sadly disappointed with this boring Americanization and had no sympathy whatsoever for the main characters.
Two things: X-Files: I Want to Believe was not a horror film, nor is the Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor (it was as much a horror film as Indiana Jones 4), so you owe us 2 more. How about you add Cloverfeld and Automaton Transfusion to this list instead? X-Files was disappointing for a film, but I think it would have made a pretty good episode on the TV show. There are some on here that I disagree with, but to each his own.
You pretty much hit it on the mark, gotta agree with you on both 2008 lists..
I saw [REC] this year, I know it came out 2007, but its definitely my horror movie of the year (and maybe the last 5 years!)
Looking forward to checking out 'Let the Right One In', 'Inside' and 'Repo - Genetic Opera' ;)
interesting list. I agree on most. The X-files film felt like a weak episode not a feature film (disappointed because I am a huge X-files fan). The Stranger was ok but overrated. I did enjoy The Happening only for it's interesting death scene but the rest was a drag. Saw V went in not expecting much just to say I "saw" it...get it? teehee
Give me a f**** break The Strangers on a worst list?? some (not many of them) people might have not like this movie but in NO way its deserved to be on a worst list...i've seen others list from other websites and The Strangers is on the Best list!! and X-files has 2nd worst movie..unbelievable.
Nohandtyper, you liked EVERY movie I hated. Saw V, Mirrors, Happening... and so on. If you completely disagree with me, that's great! Now you know that if I like something you'll hate it, and vice versa. Enjoy Case 39 in April....
MrDisgusting I calling you out you take money from these studies all the time to have them promote there movie and then you bash them. Have some integrity stop doing it. Sometimes there are things in a movie like ware they are fight. I not a big deal its not the point to move the story along for a 80 min movie. I have said before and I am saying it again since have taken of these paid advertisements you think you are bigger then you really are. SO WHY DON'T YOU MAKE US A MOVIE AND LET US BE A CRITIC ON IT. MAKE A 45 MIN SHORT LETS SEE YOUR SKILLS AT WORK. And yes people I know I had my capes on I want him to answer me.
The only film on this list I really enjoyed was Mirrors. I never laughed so much at a horror film! It's a guilty pleasure, it was very entertaining for a badly written film. Plus it has Jack Baur and some good cinematography.
SAW V was horrible because it kills the protagonist, cheats the audience so we can open up for a sixth film. It was a mess
The only film that I enjoyed from here was X-Files. People expected the plot to be huge but then were disappointed when it turned out just to be a lengthy episode. And I didn't mind that. It was good for what it was.
Feast 2 is not only bad, but when Gulager has the characters playing cards (which symbolizes boredom) w/in the first 10/15 min of the film and nothing else has really happened; he's basically telling the audience to f**k off. It's funny he wants to piss on the tiny audience he has. I turned it off at that point; if he doesn't want to entertain, then I don't want to watch. Folks have pointed out that Feast was a fluke. Absolutely. What a waste of talent.
Mr D. What do you mean "and so on?" You have three movies that you say I like and you didn't. You can't speak for movies that I haven't voiced my opinion about. Also, like most annoying critics, you think it makes you sophisticated by picking apart movies based on tiny details that have no impact whatsoever. Why do you have to be absorbed by what other people think of you. If you like a movie, like it, if you don't, don't. I think I speak for almost everybody here when I say that acting all high and mighty just because you think you can is ostentatious, and people don't like that. **Note that my argument isn't based on these movies alone. There have been many others that have led me to say this.
Wow. I'm just stunned Mr. D ? The Strangers was crap? I respect your opinion, but could not disagree more. I think if you really breakdown most movies of any genre, you will find unoriginality. Did alot of the ideas in the movie been done may times over? Yes. But it worked for what the movie was trying to do. I don't think the intensions were to create something we have never seen before. But I would challenge to find any movie where you could not compare it to something we have never seen.
The Happening is only at 7?
Did we watch the same movie? ...
Killer trees, ridiculous scenes, lots of aimless running around and nothing was scary or tension building in the least.
It was slow, boring, could have been a PG-13 movie and was just painful to watch.
The strangers was a great suspense film unoriginal yes,but at least it wasnt a REMAKE. \
and mr D arent you looking forward to the my bloody valentine remake!?!? hmmmmmmmm
Strangers was boring, same ol same ol... Glad to see that it did well, but it couldve been pg-13 if they wouldve changed some of the scenes around. Good lists Mr.D, ill have to check out the ruins and rogue for myself, cant wait for martyrs.. Happy New Year
I've said it before, and I'll say it again. Hell, I'll shout it from the rooftops. First, folks will complain that horror films like Halloween aren't made anymore. Then, someone comes along and does just that, and it's discredited for being unoriginal? Just like I said before, 75% of horror fans don't know what the fuck they want, and deserve all the BS they get year in and year out.
I back you up, Big Bad Wolf. Look at some of the comments in this alone. "I liked Mirrors because it was like an 80s horror film." Then someone else, "Mirrors was the most unoriginal movie ever." There is a struggle between nostalgia and originality, because the majority of horror fans seem to want both.
Your fucking crazy....The Strangers and X -Files are really good movies. The Strangers reminds me of the good old days. It will stand the test of time and it's scary.
i'm so glad MrDisgusting put The Strangers on this list.. such a bore and i hated it so much. wasn't suspenseful, creepy or scary at all.. i have no idea why anyone would like this movie.
The Strangers was a nice throw back to the "Golden Age" of slasher films. Using mood & atmosphere....Yes, it borrowed alot from other movies, but you just don't see movies like this anymore. Everything is too overdone anymore. The great thing about this movie is that it leaves alot to the imagination, instead of having to explain EVERYTHING like modern horror movies.
Jacques, you hit the nail on the head with that last bit. Nostalgia and Originality are wanted simultaneously, and somehow, people find a way to bitch when they only get one or the other. Take the new "Friday the 13th" for example. I've read complaints that it is going to be too damn different. I've read others that it's going to be too damn unoriginal. My question is, what the fuck do you want!? People whine and cry, and say "Oh, the chances of a horror film with actual suspense and atmosphere, like Halloween, are never." Then, these same people will watch the Strangers and say "This is too damn similar to films like Halloween for me to like it.
I say, "fuck you, it's similar to something I like in all the good ways, so I'm going to like it because of that." And please, no one think I don't respect BD's opinion, because I do. If I didn't, I wouldn't be here. However, I also have respect for a man in a uniform, and I'll tell you straight up that the Nazis were major pricks, and I doubt you'd disagree.
I think Prom Night was a little above average not saying I loved it but it was decent. Saw 5 it was entertaining for me. The Happening, and Shutter were so annoying I felt like someone was giving me a bowl removement during the 100 minutes it was playing. As for One Missed Call it was fair like Prom Night would have been better if it had some more HORROR elements instead of thriller types. As for [Rec], Quarantine, Saw 5, and The Ruins they were my top 4. Rogue would be 5.
Ha! 'The Strangers'should have been no. 1 for worst movie of the year. It seemed so tedious and BORING! Looks like a movie anybody would sleep thru, and the Saw movies, yet the franchise has been unusually fortunate. Feast 2 sucked, I guess I'll wait to see that movie on cable then!
I was a long time fan of this site but never a member. I felt I needed to become one to chime in on this one though. I must say that i agree with every thing that Mr. d has to say about the strangers. This is a movie that had no sense of individualitly. They ripped off Halloween in almost every scene and if that wasn't enough to leave a sour tast in my mouth they managed to rip off atleast 3 other greats without even the courtesy of a reach around. As for the Ruins what a great film I was actually very impressed with this one, although not compleatly original, enough so that it was still fun. Great list keep up the great work. Love the site.
Wow this list is pretty much how I would have done it, only I would have put "the strangers" around number 5 or 6. I watched that movie with two other people both who like myself are true horror movie fans, well they both left some where in the middle of it I however stayed to the end. My point is if a movie is unoriginal, uninspired, repetitive, and fails to connect with the viewer whats the point.
The Strangers shouldn't be on this list, neither should X-Files. "I Want to Believe" is a pretty thoughtful, quiet little film and it gets better on repeat viewings. Other than those two the list was pretty solid, though.
It seems as though most of the hollywood horror films made this list while hidden gems like TMMT and Repo! were put in bet list. It seems as though film companies dont want to put there best work foward anymore...
Mirrors was an "over the top gorefest"? I remember two deaths that had blood. While not a stellar film by any means I don't think it is as bad as some state.
As a huge fan of the "Saw" franchise, it pains me to say......well, not really, to say that SAW V was extremely, EXTREMELY terrible. Im embarassed to be a Saw fan now. James Wan should be put back in the Director's chair and end it with a bang, in order to make up for this shitty sequel. none of them are ever going to be as captivating as the original saw.
I agree with most of this list except The Strangers which I felt was effective for what it was and Mirrors which neither would be in my top ten, neither falls into the bottom 10 either. I'd probably have to bump The Happening to higher on the list though. It was terrible.
the strangers wasnt really that terrible. it was pretty creepy i thought. not a classic but pretty decent. i dont know why people are suprised when something isnt original. everything has been done. there are only so many ways to scare/kill someone. one missed call and shutter were god awful and the happening is one of the worst movies (not just horror) to ever be made. i refuse to ever watch a mummy movie again after tbs put it on 7000 times a week for about 2 years straight so i didnt see the third one. i think saw 5 was ok. you have to remember that its part of a chain of movies and not a stand alone. as a stand alone, really terrible...as a part of a incomplete chain....passable. but i admit they are going downhill.
I pretty much agree with this entire list. I'm still not sure how anyone can defend The Happening. This is by far one of the worst films I've ever seen. Not only was the writing/directing bad but the acting was horrible. How is it that Zooey Deschanel continues to get leading roles in majors films. She is down right painful to watch.
Stranges should have been renamed "What not to do if your are being stalked by killers". This was obviously too long so they went with stranges instead. I mean how dumb can you make your characters and still have them be believable.
For the record I actually enjoyed Feast II. It was exactly what it was intended to be. Silly, fun and unnecessarily gory. A good movie but don't expect any academy awards.
I agree mostly, but with the Mummy 3. Let's see you wrote...
"it’s unforgivable how dumbed-down the final product is... The best way to describe this latest MUMMY entry would be to compare the audience to a cat and the film to a ball of yard. Writers Alfred Gough and Miles Millar treat the audience as a simple cat with a small brain - stupid enough that a ball of yard will amuse them for hours."
Um isn't that what the first 2 were about? I guess I got the edited versions with the deep and complex plots.
Now doubt the 3rd was inferior, but it was more or less the same as the previous 2 only not as fun
Thank you for including the Happening. I broke a promise to myself to never again watch a M Nigh Shamalangadingdong movie. (technically I said that after The Village and after The Lady in the Water)
To say this movie was boring is an understatement. They explain the happening less than half way through the movie and take it nowhere afterward.
What are you talking about The Strangers not being original? It was completely original and tipped its hat to many old school horror films by creating a simple idea and putting the audience through the suspense ringer. Once that first knock on the door came in the middle of the night, I was hooked and on edge until the credits rolled. That makes it a winner in my book. The atmosphere and music was creepy and very effective. I don't need a high body count and excessive blood and gore to enjoy a film. This was a suspense film and it succeeded on every level. It did very well at the box office and gave the director a new deal to create a few more films for us. Can't wait to see what he comes up with next! Prom Night was agreeably the worst of 2008 I'll give you that.
I understand your point on the Strangers, you're right about it's lack of original premise, but I enjoyed the hell out of it none the less. The visuals alone with Bagface sold me on this being a horror film that had it's heart in the right place. A really nice creepy movie that relied on subtley and character as opposed to "OMG THA BROOTALZ LOL". And does the 3rd Mummy movie really need to be hear? We all know Michael Jordan is good at basketball, he doesn't need anyone to tell him that, just like we all know the new Mummy film is some sort of diarhea, not anything worth a shit. Good list on the whole though.
I love that The Strangers is the film that's dividing people. And I also love that 'An Experiment in Terror' compared Michael Jordan (my personal idol) to The Mummy 3 :) I think I've officially seen it all in this thread...
How can strangers be compared to friday the 13th??!! i very much doubt anyone will even remember strangers by the end of 2009 nevermind in 20 years time. I agree with MrD Strangers is craaaaaapppppp!!! Mirrors could of been awesome if it wasn't so in your face, the ending rocked. Bring on Martyrs, then we should get to see something original and shocking.
Id agree with mr disgusting on the worst horror movies of 08,id seen most of them and none were original in any way,one missed call and shutter were just grudge rip offs in my eyes, nothing happened in the happening and im not even gonna waste my time with the x files.Mirrors, saw and prom night were just your run of the mill horrors, not crap, not great.I really did enjoy the strangers tho, although i watched a vhs screener originally and it seemed to give it that gritty 70's,80's feeling, which i thought added to it,it wasnt original but i wasnt expectin it to be.Too many horrors tryin to have the twist at the end and its expected now which ruins the whole twist, just wanted something straight forward and creepy,i thought the strangers was that.Would have to say tho 2 films that werent included on the best list that i thought should have made it were Eden lake and The Mist, both really shocked me and left their mark, which is what a good horror should do,other than that id agree mostly with that list too, although im gonna make time for this martyrs, sounds crazy!
OH MY GOD THANK U FOR PUTTING HOUSE ON HERE, that movie was so BAD its not even funny. and Mirrors and The Happening were huge dissapointments, Alexander Aja could have done better than a remake, and I don't even bother seeing those PG-13 remakes or PG-13 Asian ripoffs they all suck, although I didn't think some of ur movies should b on the best list but I saw u were doin ones in the theaters and that made me realize they work then, still need to c martyrs here.
This list is pretty dead-on. Although I didnt think The Strangers was too bad the only negative is that it was kind of a remake of the french classic Them. That movie was alot scarier & I thought the ending was way more shocking and a thousand times more suspensful than The
Strangers ending. Its a pretty good list though;)
Hooray Mr. D for including THE STRANGERS, it was cliched and tedious for the most part. And as for this 'sudden backlash', my user review was written the day it came out in theatres.
the funny part about the strangers is it is baised on a true story right how do we know what really happend the movie was a pile of dog shit and deserves to be on this list but why is the mummy 3 it is not even horror
For me, it comes down to :
1) inferior remakes (especially when they're released as watered down PG-13 ... what the fuck is up with that?)
2) inferior direct to dvd sequels (again, what the fuck is up with that?)
3) continuing any movie franchise when it should end on the right sequel (again, what the fuck is up with that?)
4) inferior continuation of a great television series into a bad film (again, what the fuck is up with that?)
you have no integrity MR.DISGUSTING you put mirrors on you worst list of 2008 but yet, you are advertising the movie on YOUR SITE. YOU ARE A SELL OUT. I AM CALLING YOU OUT IF YOU DON'T LIKE THE MOVIE DON'T PUT THE AD'S ON YOUR SITE. GROW A PAIR.
OH AND HOW WAS THE STRANGERS CRAP YOU SAID IT WAS UNORIGINAL THEN USE EXAMPLES. TELL USE HOW IT WAS UNORIGINAL WHEN MY BLOODY 3-D COMES OUT YOUR GOING TO TRASH IT, AND WHEN FRIDAY THE 13TH COMES OUT YOU GOING TO TRASH IT. AND YET, YOUR ARE GETTING MONEY TO POST THESE ADDS ON YOUR SITE SO YOU PUT UP ALL THE NEWS YOU CAN. THEN TRY TO BE THE COOL GUY IN THE ROOM GOING OH THIS MOVIE SUCKED.
what!!!.. The Strangers ruled
Saw V was just another sequel so what did you expect
Shutter was a brilliant supernatural
The X-Files: i want to believe was brilliant too, nice movie after 6 years
The Happening had a good story but was pretty crap
The strangers was brilliant, why is that there?? Saw V was a good sequel. Shutter was just amazing, that was so gripping. OMG X-files!!!! that was a brilliant movie good way to do it after 6 years.
Although THE STRANGERS was nowhere as good as ILS(THEM), I thought it was a pretty good flick. In my opinion, it doesn't deserve to be on the worst of '08 list....Why isn't the horrible remake of THE EYE on here?? Or was that '07?? What the fuck...I'm losing it. Anyway, good list other than THE STRANGERS.
I'm glad you included The Strangers on your list of worst movies. I was really amped for it and jeez was it just plain old shitty. Token parts of many other horror/thriller movies thrown together in order to create suspense. And the bad guys in this movie were just fuckin' lame as hell if you ask me. That sack face dude was actually more funny than scary.
