Well then I guess 1.6 million people really enjoy inferior, uninspired, watered down, and glossed over Platinum Dunes remakes. It's all purely nostalgic. Freddy fans just want to see Freddy on the silver screen again in any manner, no matter how much of a disservice the film does to the character. Platinum Dunes knows this, and they're more than happy to oblige. For those of us that were actually around when the originals first came out, Platinum Dunes is simply trying to sell our childhoods back to us. And for all those teenagers out there that most likely have only heard of the originals but never seen them, and wouldn't know their own ass from a whole in the ground, Platinum Dunes is selling them on the chance to experiance 'A Nightmare on Elm Street' in the the theaters for the first time. And they're sure to make it as hip, and as modern as possible to ensure that it lookes dated as fuck twenty years from now. Platinum Dunes' movies are about as timeless as milk. I'm sure this film will be their most profitable abortion yet, because after all, they do have the most iconic horror character of all time (besides Micheal Myers) staring in their film. Yup, just like with their 'Friday the 13th' remake, you'll all flock to the theatres opening weekend like lambs to the slaughter, and also like 'Friday the 13th' no one will show up the second weekend after hearing how bad it was.
