Four friends fleeing a viral pandemic soon learn they are more dangerous than any virus.
Nothing....? errh, The Lovely Bones i'm really forward too, having read the book, should be quite a special movie... Especially with peter Jackson at the helm. he proved he could pull out astounding drama with Heavenly Creatures... and, even LOTR. Even though, lovely bones should NOT be labeled as horror.
Paranormal Activity screened early last year and it hit the audiance and reviewers hard! Scared the shit outta everyone because it worked like the Exoricist had. The premise is simple. Leave a camera on in you bedroom to document the ghost you believe is there when you sleep. And shit slowly starts to happen and build. The couple is believable the haunting is believable. You will eat crow if you think this movie sucks. nothing will best it this year thats for sure. Simple shit works.
THE UNINVITED may work on the strength of the very likable Elizabeth Banks playing a psychopath. THE LOVELY BONES may work on the strength of its director. The rest of this looks kind of blah.
Why are people even looking to major studios for horror? If you look at all the classic horror films, they all have one thing in common. They're all low budget independent films! Screw Hollywood, look to the indie scene for good quality horror!
I don't care what the whiners say, Paranormal Activity and Carriers look interest.
Gorelust: the same indy scene that brought us terror toonz, the craptacular the signal, and many many low rent movies that are total ass?
Hollywood has it's problems, but the worst hollywood movies are way better than a majority of indies. Not all, but the good indy stuff is a lot less than you probably think.
Paranormal Activity has got me juicies flowing must admit. Case 39 or whatever seems interesting enough. The others? well if the leading ladeez are sexy enough, I'll watch 'em lol
The Signal Was a very good film.
The film line-up for 2009 does really suck... Its depressing in a way.
WARNER BRO's cannot do horror, all their horror films suck! thirteen ghosts was a joke! I can't think of anything else becuase they suck so bad! lol.
Case 39 is that shitty Renee Zellwiger flick that tested beyond horrible and they kept pushing it back. It was supposed to come out like a year ago. I agree The Signal was awesome and these flicks look like a major snooze-fest.
The Signal? THE crap movie of 2008. But I must say that Hollywood's track record of shit Horror movies is only getting worse. Horror films are a quick buck for the studios that they put into the hands of directors who just wrapped up shooting a music video. What happened to the days when great directors made horror?
The only film that looks to be worth watching is Paranormal Activity...The Uninvited and Case 39 were beaten to a pulp by test audiences, so I can highly imagine both are just pure shit. I honestly hope Warner Brothers will surprise us with a release of Trick r' Treat.
come on u lot...... hollywood has lost it.....from crap remakes to stupid dr jones sequels hollywood has lost they way....bring back the old directors and writers i say.
The signal was shit. Anyone who liked that piece of crap has NO taste.
And Texican, you might want to learn how to spell ''moron'' before you make yourself look like an even bigger idiot by calling someone else stupid.
It made me laugh though :)
yeah, none of these movies look remotely interesting to me. JKROUSKOP, i agree w/ you, that the very awesome and affable Elizabeth Banks is THE only reason i'd watch "The Uninvited".
