As first reported here on Bloody Disgusting (back on July 14), filming kicked off for Tim Sullivan's 2001 Maniacs: Beverly Hellbillys the week of July 20th and has just wrapped, which was confirmed on the newly launched official Facebook page. The page teases an official press release sometime later today and also gives us our first look at some early promo art. Check out some potential cast names, the synopsis and the teaser image by reading beyond the break.
After the sheriff refuses to cover up any further for the maniacs causing all the missing persons in the area, they're forced to hit the road in what's dubbed the "Pleasant Valley Traveling Road Show," where the maniacs head across country in hopes of gathering more victims. We'll follow a young TV crew called the "Road Rascals" as they find themselves mixed up with another one of the maniacs' deadly festivals.
Courtney Peldon, Ashley Peldon, Adam Robitel, Robert Englund, Ryan Fleming, Jay Gillespie, Dylan Edrington, Christa Campbell, Amy Baniecki, Tony Todd, Bill Moseley are all rumored to be cast, according to IMDB.
Seeing this just makes my stomach hurt. I had an opportunity to be part of this film and I let my insecurities get in the way of pursuing something that could have been really fun and enlightening.
i wonder if they're still planning to release this with the directors cut of the first film bundled up? i did enjoy the first film but it was a bit of a mess at the same time, would love to see the directors true vision and not the distributors version which im sure they knocked together after a night of bar hopping and smoking meth.

The first 2001 maniacs reminded me that although not all horror is top shelf, that doesn't mean it isn't a lot of fun. I'm very much looking forward to this.
I was actually watching 2001 last night I hope Robert is in it cause his sarcastic kinda fuck u assholeness is what made this first film so funny yet good kinda quick shooting though 2and half weeks? Still should be fun!
No Englund is not in it, Bill Moseley is taking over the role so I have no reason to care anymore. No Englund, no dice. He was the best thing about the first.
i cant wait for this film. The first film was an absolute guilty pleasure I mean my word. 2001 Maniacs is a absolute guilty pleasure to watch and chapter 2 hopefully will be a great companion peace to the first. I just went to IMDB, and I just found out that Robert Englund and GIUSEPPE ANDREWS ARE NOT IN THIS SEQUEL. WTF, THEY HAVE BILL MOSELEY AND SOME DUDE NIVEK OGRE PLAYING HARPER FUKING ALEXANDER!!! GEE TIM, WHAT HAPPENED? HELL, EVEN BIG RUFUS ISN'T GOING TO BE IN THIS MOVIE, I SENSE A BIG FAT FAILURE OF A SEQUEL!!
2001 Maniacs was a fun film I watched on fearnet. I'm all for this one as long as I get to see it for cheap lol.
