While Platinum Dunes is winding down on their reboot of A Nightmare on Elm Street, we caught up with your brand new Freddy Krueger, Jackie Earle Haley, who tells Bloody-Disgusting exclusively that he's signed on to return for more razor-glove teen terrorizing. "Two more," prompting us to confirm, "So, three total?" Haley smiles, displaying three fingers, "yeah." We also broke the news that Rooney Mara (Nancy Thompson) is signed on for one more trip to Elm Street. Warner Bros. Pictures and New Line Cinema will release the remake in theaters April 16, 2010. The films' premise centers on Krueger, a serial child molester murdered by angry parents, who returns with a burnt face and a razor glove to terrorize teens in their dreams.

Platinum Dunes better hopes he pulls off one hell of a performance if they have 3 lined up. If the remake bombs (which I'm sure it won't despite me wanting it to) they will just say "fuck it" and leave it at only one remake. But if he's a good Freddy, I'd like to see the 2nd and 3rd one be completely original and basically all new sequels

i'm looking forward to this because the cast is really good (ESPECIALLY Katie Cassidy!!!!! she RULES!). i hope it turns out AT LEAST half decent if not great!

oh, i forgot. no matter how much Brad Fuller over-hypes this (and WAY OVER-HYPES the DVD for this...promising a "whole other movie"), i will believe NOTHING of what he says anymore. but again, i hope this turns out good!

As if anyone in there right mind is going to go see this piece of crap, much less another two crappy sequels. This movie will bomb mark my words, If anyone has read the script then they know what i am talking about! DJBLACK... Brad Fuller has no control on what is put on the DVD. That is WARNER BROS, he may have alittle say but Warner bros decide what goes on the final DVD/Blue ray. But this is fucking awesome. FOUR MOVIE NIGHTMARES, I love this

tlyon2, no offense to you but if you think THIS movie could be ANY ANY ANY worse than the piece of steaming pile of SHITTTTTTT that was FvJ....then..........come on, man. that movie sucks SO much fucking ass, it can suck anymore. it's full.

Watchmen_Rorschach, i DO understand to a point. but FULLER (and i don't HATE the man or anything) over-hyped HIS movie too (and NOT just the DVD). so it's not just like he used hyperbole with the DVD. and if he had NO/LITTLE control over the DVD, then WHY open his mouth when he knew it might not turn out like he said it would?

First of all djblack1313 that's your opinon, sure fvsj may have had it fair share of problems no doubt about it! There are things in the movie i would have change too! But it is what it is and for what it is it's pretty decent. But i myself and alot of others do think that it will still be better then this horrible remake!

i actually enjoyed FVJ myself. definitely not one of the best horror movies ever, but i agree with tlyon2, it was enjoyable, i just thought of it as a fun slasher. not meant to be a classic.

The main fault of FvJ was the characters, not the actual story. Though I blame Shannon and Swift for that, because if Ft13 remake was any proof, Shannon and Swift can't write likable characters worthy shit. After reading the script to THIS one, while it's NOT penned by Shannon and Swift, it still suffers from what dragged FvJ down. The characters still aren't that likable, but that's only a bit of what's wrong with this movie. The story's also pretty convoluted, and while I think the writer(Eric Heisserer) tried to make it sound smart by adding twists and turns through a Nancy Drew-style mystery, the sheer stupidity of some of the situations is just unbelievable. The problem is with Heisserer, who lacks the experience to tackle such a project. I mean, they got this dude penning the reboots to two of horror's greatest movies(This and The Thing), which isn't the brightest of moves considering how green he is in the industry. From what I heard, the changes they made in the final script are very small, and that most of the leaked draft remains intact, especially the HORRID DIALOG.

Where are all those people Platinum Dunes hired to come onto this site and post positive things about this shitty remake?

I also lived FVJ...but i took it as fun and thats why i enjoyed it..the fight scene with freddy in our world was funny and awesome at the same time..as for the remake i will be seeing it because i love freddy even though WES CRAVEN wants nothing to do with it..but honestly guys if it does suck so what..we still have the originals to go back to so i dont see the harm in it...Plus i think they got a great actor to do Freddy...But if the script sux ass than he wont even be able to save this film...time will tell..it will either be a good birthday present or a shitty one...

I want to see this franchise go the same direction that Zombie took Halloween, which is to say the first flick be a re-imagining of the original, so the same story etc even if it is slightly different, and the subsequent entries in the series, once a new mood and face is established, no longer need to be based on the original sequels, they can be fresh scripts.

Well he better be good. Lets hope he can pull it off, more importantly lets hope the Dunes actually make a decent film.

I think their being way over confident considering the first one is still being made. Who knows it might suck big time, hopefully it doesnt but being a PD (pathetically dull) movie.....

Okay, they already got two sequels lined up? Come on, I think they're getting a little ahead of themselves. We haven't even seen the first one yet. If that dude makes a new, creepy, believable Freddy..... then maybe. Again, they shouldn't sign up for two movies without releasing the first one yet, just my opinion.

How about New Nightmare 2:Freddy Vs Freddy. Robert Englund's Freddy up against Jackie Earle Haley's.

Do you think that the script for the sequel could be any worse than the one for this film? THIS FILM WILL SUCK! They fucked up Friday the 13th, Amityville Horror, and TCM: The Beginning. We are in for one shitty movie. We can only hope that Jackie's brilliant acting will salvage some of it.
