The Roost, Trigger Man, Cabin Fever 2: Spring Fever and the awesome The House of the Devil, I think it's safe to say Ti West is quickly becoming an icon in the horror world. We learned exclusively today that West will be getting behind the camera for The Haunting in Georgia, Gold Circle Films' sequel to The Haunting in Connecticut that we first told you about here. Written by David Coggeshall (Clock Tower), shooting begins this September in Canada. You can check out the new synopsis inside.
The film is based on the true story. Once moved into their modest home situated on what was once an Old South plantation, a young couple grows concerned when their daughter begins encountering mysterious strangers that no one else can see. Their fear is heightened when they themselves become witness to terrifying phenomena in and around the house, giving clues to unlock a chilling mystery that has remained a closely-guarded secret for generations.
Ti West kicks ass. Maybe he can make this one good. Is it weird that I don't want West to move beyond indie films though? Of course his fame is important to the horror crowd, but damn...His indie work is some of the best horror I have seen.
Oh, so that means that this film will never get released or just end up direct-to-dvd. I hated the 1st movie...one of the worst horror films Ive seen this year.
I EXCLUSIVLY broke the news here. That Ti West is far from a horror icon at this point. "The Roost" and especially "Trigger Man" are dull an vapid. Haunting in Georgia. Give us a break and make something that hasn't been run through the ringer.
Um...a little premature, BD. Ti West is not signed as the director of this film.
For the naysayers: "Haunting in Georgia" is a cool script. Great atmosphere and tension, and some horrific sequences that actually make logical sense (Unlike "Connecticutt").
Ti West is becoming a horror icon?! Haahaaaaaahaaaaaahaaaa! With those crappy films? Haaaahaaaaaahaaaaaa! Damn that's the best joke I heard all day! Thanks Mr. D! Haaaaahaaaaaahaaaaaaa!
Cabin Fever 2 seems like alot of killing is going on, right? Why the hell don't Lionsgate release it already. Is this movie beyond rated R rating? There's a reason they're not releasing it yet. Can't Ti just release it on his own, if so Ti what are you waiting for bb!!!?
I'm sure he will have a hit with this horror sequel, hope all his movies reach number 1 so he can release CF2!! I mean can't he release CF2 on dvd on his own, uncut?
