Back in April the gut-wrenching news hit the wire that Gore Verbinski's Bioshock - the adaptation of the kickass video game - has hit some troubled waters as the budget was way out of control. Universal promised to get things on track and swore we wouldn't have another Halo on our hands. Late last night "Prison Break" star Wentworth Miller updated his Twitter page with this shocking tweet, "Prison Break may be ending, but I've got things in the works. Hint...one word: Bioshock." Is the city of Rapture having a grand re-opening? Is there enough Eve to get this project rolling? Let's hope this rumor turns into something more tangible.
"Bioshock" takes place in an underwater city based on the free market principles of Ayn Rand, but things have gone disastrously wrong. Players control a pilot who crash-lands at a secret entrance to the city, called Rapture, and is drawn into a power struggle during which he discovers that his will is not as free as he'd thought.
Bioshock IS long - Im still playing it and I got it a couple of years ago (granted I work full time and have kids, so I only play now and then) - Rapture is awesome in a way I cant explain - Bioshock rules. I dont care for this actor, but at least he isnt John Travolta.
I have a feeling he means he's going to be playing it also. Either the first one or the second one that comes out in November! It was effing long! I had to re-rent it twice before beating it.
A long game? Are ou serious? My girlfriend beat it on easy in like 5 hours... granted she just 'ran' through it, but still.... buncha fat babies... I took my time though, and knew it would make for an incredible movie.... can't wait
It took me a few weeks to beat it. The best part is that my girlfriend was really into and we broke up before I beat so the bitch never got to see the ending. HA! I win.
Wentworth Miller is a solid actor and i am very glad he's looking at being in this. It's rare that a video-game adaptation is pleasing but i have both fingers crossed.
Hopefully he's jack(the main character) and will keep his mouth shut! if not I can see him being Atlas since it couldn't get more disappointing more then the game's twist with Atlas and the fight that followed. If he's andrew I'm going to fucking find the casting director and just be like "Man chooses DOGS OBEY!, NOW OBEY!"
There is of course Bioshock 2 in development right now, due for release October 2009. So it's entirely possible that he's doing voice over work for the main game character, and has nothing whatsoever to do with this movie.
so wait are they talking about making a Bioshock movie? i would like to see that happen, i love the game and the sequel should be bad ass...
