Contact Music should be ashamed of themselves. Not only was their story about a new Silence of the Lambs sequel bunk, but they STOLE the story from an old article circulating on Google. Thanks to the fact that both Contact Music and WENN stole the store, without crediting the source, the story flooded the web within hours. Thanks to our good friend Clint at Moviehole.net who confirmed with Universal that the story posted yesterday was a heaping pile of sh*t. How is that stealing? You have to keep in mind how ignorant today's media is, wanting to claim dibs on every breaking story. It's no doubt that things spread like wildflower, just like bloggers post videos that, at some point, get yanked. At least give yourself some credit for questioning it in the first place.
Hold up, before you trash any specific site: Wenn is a *major* entertainment news wire service. Chances are Contact Music pays a fee to republish their stories, just like hundreds of other websites and local news stations and the NY Post. Google search some phrases from that article and you'll see. Those aren't scraper sites, they're legit news outlets republishing news they paid for. If Wenn got something wrong of course it would spread within hours.
I was actually hoping this one would've been true...it would've meant a new Lector book was on the way with a film in the works. Hopefully, this one will turn out true in the next couple of years. I agree with Kaname Tousen about a bridge between Hannibal Rising & Silence, but I also want to know what happens after Hannibal.
Well, though it was quite obvious, it's too bad it ain't happening. Still, would love to see what happened to Hannibal after "Hannibal" because "Rising" was so bad (as a Hannibal movie, that is.)
