A few weeks ago we broke the disheartening news that Daeg Faerch was recast as young Michael Myers in Rob Zombie's Halloween 2: The Devil Walks Among Us (still the unconfirmed new title). But fans of Daeg will be happy to know that Dimension Films has retained his likeness rights and can use his image in the sequel, now filming in Georgia. How it will be used is unknown, but there is talk that they might superimpose his face when Michael's not wearing a mask. Chase Wright Vanek replaced Daeg after he showed up to set standing nearly as tall at Sheri Moon Zombie (the secret is out, kids DO grow up!). H2 hits theaters August 28th.
it just means the new kid is intended to look like him, to imply its the same kid. nothing more. and not only that but who cares. this isnt on the level of robert englund being replaced or something, he isnt the face of myers
Why not use the new kid for the younder version (and hide shots of his face), and have other flash backs of Michael when he was Daeg's age and use Daeg? Since when has Michael's height been an issue? Isn't older Michael kind of a fucking giant in the movie? Easy as that, folks.
they only have five months to get this film ready, i would hate to see zombie bite off more than he can chew with cgi (not his area) and this film miss its release date because its my film for 2009.

Of course they would retain the rights but the superimposing is the most ridiculous thing i've ever read. Why go to the trouble to have kids audition and then cast if they're not going to be used. This news post is fucking stupid.
I don't know why they can't use his increased height to their advantage. I mean, adult Michael turned into a friggin bear. It would be kind of logical to show him in such a growth spurt between the last time we saw young Michael, and the first time we see adult Michael.
Nice pictures now up at the below site. They include the Haddonfiled Police cars, new Myer's house, and Myer's tombstone. The Myer's home now looks exactly like the one from H1 considering it's a different house in a different state.
