A pretty impressive box office weekend for horror (once again) as Rogue Pictures' The Last House on the Left opened with an impressive estimated $14.6m for the third spot at the box office. These are some high numbers considering the remake opened against The Watchmen in the film's second week of release and Disney's high-profile Race to Witch Mountain. New Line's Friday the 13th remake is close to surpassing $65m. Don't forget to write your own review and tell the B-D readers if they should check out Last House or not.
Great.. the more money these re-makes make..the more we have to suffer through.
Think i will catch this one on dvd.
Myself i am tired of re-makes/ imaginings.
WALKNDEAD - stop bitchin, i think a lot of people would love to see their favorite classics again! Watching those old movies now, they're just funny cuz they're soo old, so you can keep lickin your mothers balls and please shut the hell up!!
So glad this did well, it was an awesome horror flick. Even better is that word-of-mouth is likely to be great for the flick, so it probably won't drop that much within the coming weeks.
This article should have really highlighted the fact that it opened in 1210 less theaters than "Watchmen" and made only $3.4 million less than "Watchmen" did in it's second weekend. It also had a higher Per Screen average than "Watchmen". Had Rogue Pictures opened the film wider, it could have debuted at #2. I haven't seen the movie yet. But my friend who never saw the original saw it on Saturday and said the crowd loved the revenge parts and that the movie was violent. I'll go see it Friday.
WALKNDEAD - grow up. It's funny how you stated that you are tired of the remakes, yet you will catch this on DVD. Don't be a hypocrite. Either you will take a stand and boycott remakes, or you will stop whining. No one is forcing you to view them.
