Its not the "same" film. I hear you on that killdozer. Some movies weve seen have special places in our film watching history. I already saw Last House on the Left and was sucker punched in the stomach by it growing up. Saw this out of curiousity. It its own film. Its good in its own way. The crowd at Tribeca Cinemas in NYC was awesome and made the whole experience worth while. Must have been the widely enjoyed drink special - 1 beer and 1 shot of whiskey for $8. Michael Hein, Kimberly Magness, and Joe Mauceri and the rest with the New York City Horror Film Festival, once again you put on a movie watching experience that went above par.

FANGORIA, gave this movie an excellent rating too. so you guys complaining or calling BD "shills" get a clue. not EVERYONE is "in on it". stop being so paranoid. maybe this really is a good movie. shut up and watch it and THEN make your narrow comments or just shut up. :) i think this looks awesome. i'm going to see it today. can't wait.

they shoud use their "talent" for an original film instead for a fucking remake. if Dennis Iliadis is so amazing as a director he should do a brand new film, very brutal and sadistic, with last house, texas chainsaw or henry influences, that's my personal opinion it is like a talented musician try to re-record led zeppelin's IV album just because it doesnt have the best quality ever!!

just came from seeing the movie and it's EXCELLENT! one of the best remakes yet. very intense and well acted.

I wasnt interested in this movie at all till recently. I have to admit the ads for it look pretty good. I saw the original years ago and didnt really care for it, but i think im going to give this one a try.

I think that its very hard to compare both films as both of them were different in my opinion. The first one was more explotational and raw, kinda felt like it was a snuff film as to this remake feeling exactly what they wanted it to feel like "A Movie" A very good movie in fact, It held my tension to the very end, I loved the scene with the garbage disposal, didnt expect to see that and now its one of my favorite kill scenes in a movie. I think the acting is great and everyone was belivable. As to the people hating this because its A REMAKE most of them probably have no clue that this is like the 3rd remake and the 1972 one is as old as their parents, so stop hating on this because this film was done for you "The New Generation" to show you kids what type of movies we watched growing up back in the day. I truly loved this movie and will see it again and buy it on blu-ray dvd when released.

FFS PLEASE TRY AND AVOID POSTING SPOILERS IN THIS REVIEW THREAD! Here in the UK, we've got to wait until 4TH SEPTEMBER to see this!!! :( Will hopefully have imported it on R1 DVD by then, although preferably without having te ending ruined!

This has been on my must see list for quite some time but I have to admit I was sadly disappointed. It wasn't a terrible movie but I wish I used the cash to see Watchmen a second time.

Best advise is if you love horror movies just give it a view when you get a chance. dont go by reviews just watch and decide for yourselves if you like it or not. Sorry to hear the UK doesnt get this movie untill sept 4. Why so long?

i might see this movie when its on the general shelf at the video store....not interested at all.

SPOILERS::: it was a sick movie. the original was just total exploitation, this one is like an actually realistic story. the girls aren't put through as much torment, but they still get it pretty damn bad. Paige's death isn't as brutal, but man do you feel for her. and mari, beautiful, sweet mari, you just want to spit on the guy after watching that rape scene. and i totally enjoyed the revenge half of the film. after feeling as dirty as i did after the rape scene, i was cheering everytime one of those bastards got it. :END SPOILERS::

I liked this remake.They "softned" the rape/murder scene with the girls, however, the brutality comes from the fight between the parents and the killers. They made the parents likeable. So far this is the best remake this year. It was well done and well acted. Worth seeing.
