Back in March last year we first told you about a new film that screamed awesomeness. The film is Bio-Slime and features one of the craziest teaser trailers in a long while. Beyond the break you can check out a bunch of new stills from the film, which looks to have been inspired by such classics as The Evil Dead, Dead Alive, Re-Animator and The Thing. What more could you want?
The story opens on a starry sky underneath which a drug deal of sorts is taking place. In a remote abandoned industrial area, under the cover of night, a drug dealer and his sexy companion Donna, wait for a stranger. When he arrives, the stranger offers a large bag of drugs in exchange for a mysterious briefcase. As the deal is completed the drug dealer double crosses the stranger and shoots him.
But before he can get back in the car where his girlfriend waits, the dealer is suddenly killed in a grisly manner. Donna panics and drives the car away with the briefcase still in the trunk.
The next morning we are introduced to Troy, an artist and a drunk, waking up in his painting studio. Troy's studio is also his home, one room located in the center of an old building in downtown Los Angeles. He is rudely awakened to find out that the building has sold and he has to move out the next day. On top of that, his niece has just gotten beaten up by her boyfriend and is on her way over to seek comfort. Furthermore, his neighbor in the next room is cooking methamphetamine and the landlord is on the premises.
Meanwhile, Donna arrives to the building, carrying the mysterious briefcase in hand. She runs to the meth cook, Jack, distraught to report the death of her boyfriend. Jack asks her about the briefcase, but then becomes more concerned with the state of her car, still covered in his friend's remains. He leaves her alone in his room as he goes out to clean up the car. Donna cannot resist temptation and opens the case, releasing a strange mass of slime. It consumes her.
More and more people end up in Troy's art studio, fighting amongst themselves so that they don't notice that a monstrous threat has trapped them in the building. A group down the hall is filming an adult movie when they are attacked by the massive glob of slime. One of them is able to escape and runs into the art studio, screaming. Only then do they discover the extent of their predicament.
Trapped in a room with only one door and no windows. Their cell phones do not work and no one outside of the building can hear their calls for help. The group of seven people is under siege as the shape shifting creature tries to seep inside. They are picked off one by one until it is obvious that they cannot out wait this predator. A plan is hatched to retrieve the case that the creature came in to see if it holds any clue to control it or destroy it.
When they finally do get the case the creature breaks through the room's barriers and they have to run a macabre gauntlet through the building to the outside world.
Here i go being negative again about a trailer, but "BIO-SLIME"?????. Not exactly marketing geniuses behind this movie! Acting looks grosser than the slime does! FX looked good for straight to DVD nonsense though.
Yeah, the title is terrible - really terrible, but it's been too long since we've had a nice, grotesque muck'n mire flick to watch so I'll let it slide if the movie entertains.
I really hate it when good horror ideas are usually made into the movies that are sent straight to dvd. This movie is one of those examples. Besides the FX effects, everything else about this film looks like shit. The story is a solid one that, from what I saw from the trailer, looks like it could deliver thrills and chills. But regardless, this is a film I am gonna keep my eyes on.
Really? Screamed awesomeness? I felt it whispered pitiful, myself. It looks moderately fun, but it also looks like we just saw every "cool" part of the movie and the rest will be filler. I don't mean to be so negative, I've just played this game before.
You guys act like you've never seen a B-movie trailer before. B-movies can be great fun, but you have to be in the right mindset.
Something tells me they aren't trying to make shakespeare, here...the acting doesn't mean shit if the cheesy effects are fun.
Drink a beer to it and laugh, but critiquing the lighting is a waste of time. Something tells me B-movies aren't for you if you didn't think that looked like a blast.
I wasn't expecting the trailer to be THAT good... this is definitely watchable!!!
