DreamWorks Pictures just provided Bloody-Disgusting with the entire batch of still for The Uninvited (trailer), which stars Elizabeth Banks, David Strathairn, Arielle Kebbel and Emily Browning. The PG-13 horror-thriller is a remake of the 2003 Korean motion picture "Changhwa, Hongryon" (A TALE OF TWO SISTERS) written and directed by Kim Jee-woon. Check out all of the stills inside.
“The Uninvited” revolves around Anna (Emily Browning), who returns home after spending time in the hospital following the tragic death of her mother. Her recovery suffers a setback when she discovers her father (David Strathairn) has become engaged to her mother’s former nurse, Rachel (Elizabeth Banks). That night, Anna is visited by her mother's ghost, who warns her of Rachel's intentions. Together, Anna and her sister (Arielle Kebbel) try to convince their father that his current fiancée is not who she pretends to be, and what should have been a happy family reunion becomes a lethal battle of wills between stepdaughters and stepmother.
Well, if i tell you the twist then you will be surprised. The movie ain't no "The Ring" or "The Grudge", but more in the style of "Identity" and "Psycho". You know what i mean ?
I watched the original, and it was not a chick flick. Just cuz it has female leaders (The Descent, which is a highly recognized horror film) does not make it a chick flick... The original was creepy and suspensful. I like horror movies that you actually think!!! Not just a kill for no reason type of thing...
