Let the countdown begin! Earlier we brought you the latest one sheet, now you can check out the full trailer for New Line Cinema's Friday the 13th over at both Yahoo! Movies and BDTV (where you can rate and comment). The trailer features the historic count to "13" and a little voice over by Pamela Voorhees! After you check it out, post your thoughts beyond the break. I thought I saw some tunnels... could Jason be hiding underground? The pic directed by Marcus Nispel follows a group of young adults that find themselves going toe-to-toe with the infamous Jason Voorhees (Derek Mears) at a cabin near Camp Crystal Lake. You can check out the full official synopsis beyond the break, along with the original trailer from 1980. FRIDAY hits theaters February 13, 2009.
From Platinum Dunes and director Marcus Nispel ("The Texas Chainsaw Massacre") comes a re-imagining of the classic horror film "Friday the 13th." Searching for his missing sister, Clay heads up to the eerie woods of legendary Crystal Lake, where he stumbles on the creaky remains of rotting old cabins that lie in wait behind moss-covered trees. And that's not the only thing hiding under the brush. Against the advice of police and cautions from the locals, Clay pursues what few leads he has, with the help of a young woman he meets among a group of college kids up for an all-thrills weekend. But they are about to find much more than they bargained for. Little do they know, they've entered the domain of one of the most terrifying specters in American film history-the infamous killer who haunts Crystal Lake, armed with a razor-sharp machete... Jason Voorhees.
Keep your eyes on the official website, check out the original 1980 trailer below:
It was a fun trailer. I think this movie will be fun like the originals. It doesnt need a deep plot, just lots of gore, chases, boobs and chicks falling down. I think that chick riding the water was topless too. This will be good.
It seems mediocre. Though I've never been a huge fan of the franchise, I still think Jason was scarier when he didn't run.
Seriously? Jason runs now... I hate Michael Bay.
Misanthropeinaction, it's obvious that you aren't a huge fan of the franchise. Jason ran in the first place in his first films (Parts 2, 3 and 4) which are the best Friday flicks. People are too stuck in the bad sequels. And don't blame Bay for only producing.
OMG! This has got to be the most expected remake ever! It was more than awesome! It was... It was... I gotta to create a word for that. It's GREATAWESOMETASTIC!!!!!
This looks better than I thought..medicore? This looks like itll be the best modern slasher film after the TCM remake!! I am more then excited I am fuckin estatic!
So I guess we're not getting a "Camp" in this one. Meaning, in the trailer, the one cat talks about how they're visiting his parents cabin. That's all good and well, but I would have rather the setting set withing the summer camp. Kind of shitty you know?
I would argue that that wasn't really running... ok I'll give part 4. He didn't full out run in part 4 BUT it was the intended end of the franchise so they had to let him run he was about to lose, it gave him more pathos.
What I really don't like is this Jason using stealth moves shit. So he drops down behind a guy from above? That's Charlie's Angels shit... Charlie's Angels is not scary.
And don't take the Michael Bay thing so seriously, I know he's just the producer but it's not my fault everything he touches (with the exception of Transformers which has Spielberg written all over it) turns to shit.
I'm excited to see this movie, but that trailer wasn't that great forreal. I don't want another sleeping bag death, it's been done, and done again just two entries ago. These movies are supposed to be about CREATIVE deaths, if you wanna give homage to a classic death, do it by choosing a death that hasn't already had homage paid to it! And Jason in underground tunnels? LAME!
On second viewing: I'll give it credit. At the very end of the trailer, the scene where jason jumps through the window pulling the unsuspecting victim back, is fairly reminiscent of the Final Chapter. Pretty sweet.
Also, 1:19 featuring some sort of TCM style house? I mean, really? The "spooky disturbing abandoned" house angle has been raped since 2 decades ago. I don't know what the plan is, but really, the spooky house has me worried.....
Ok, I liked it but I was a little let down. I was hoping it would be set back a little earlier not 2009 but other than the tunnel's and the TCM style looking house I liked it and I'll be in line Friday the 13th
Thatw as the cabin the teens are staying in, looked like the lights went out, meaning Jason was behind it...
Am I the only one that noticed theres a shot of Jason wearing the sack? BADASSSSS!!!
All you haters can lick my left nut !
I really liked it!!! It looks very intense. I wish they would not have shown the deaths so much. But eh, i don't really care!! Jason's back!
The arguments about running is dumb. I thought it was stupid when he DIDN'T run and fuckin teleported instead. He ran in all the pre-zombie ones.
Yay for Jason!
Maybe it's just me cause I'm from here but were those Jersey plates on the truck in the beginning. If so that would be AWESOME since the first four movies had Jersey plates on all the cars
despite the face that this trailer gives away far too much, I stil lhad multiple orgasms watching it. It seems like the bulk o fthe story borrows from Parts 3 + 4...I'm guessing we'll get an origin/Part 1 "beginning/prequel" movie later (ala TCM: The Beginning"), which I'd love to see, too.
It's been said that Jason has tunnels in this . . . this shouldn't be news. But yeah, it's wierd not seeing him with an 80's vibe. A lot of it does look recycled from the TCM redux, but it does look like it will have some neat moments. Heres hoping.
Looks COOL... I have to say..like they just showed tons of the movie in the trailer...It better have lots of blood, nudity, and gore to go along with that trailer...none of this PG-13 rated REMAKE CRAP!
Looks awesome. I liked how they kept some old original feel and added some new. That's what you should do when you remake a classic. I will miss Mrs.Voorhees as the killer. But I'm anxious to see it.
Pretty good...I geuss :/ but seriously its just pretty much a remake of the remake of The Texas Chainsaw Masscre! right down to the freaking old lady saying "people get lost here get lost fur good there boy" even using a freaking hick voice! and it looks JUST like TCM right down to the look, gawd, this directors range of talent is limited to one look and movie.
"keeping the look of the originals"? it looks just like the TCM remake, and last time I checked most of you passed that off as "MTV" bullshit, BUT I will say that the "MTV" look suites F13 ALOT better than it does TCM, TCM needed to be ALOT more dirty looking, but I think that F13 can take the "MTV" style look and make it work, since F13 is a slasher fad anyway, and I kinda mean that in a good way ;)
looks pritty cool. I can't wait for it. Jason is back. Finally we be seeing an unstopable killing machine back on the big screen. I wish michael looked this good. But sadly he didn't. Finally will have a stalker that will kick as. Know bring on the slicing big time. The more bodies piling up the better. Jason cometh. I like the poster too... i,m glad they kept the music..
Looks amazing, some of you need to get youre old vhs slasher films out of your asses and respect a new faithful, brutal re-invisionment that makes the character scary again. Come one atleast he's not in space again or a brought up in Rob Zombie's white trash generic world.
ok i guess i seen the wrong trailer when i posted on the oother one on here.....HOLY SHIT THIS IS AWESOME!!!!!!!!!! oh my god i love it! loved the freezer and seein the tunnels! this is going to smash up the box office numbers. even though i still love the original, BUT this does have potential. i cant wait! love the 1980 trailer too.....i am also happy that they kept the chichichiahahaha YA!!!!! i have never been this much excited for a horror movie in a LONG time. counting down the days!!LONG LIVE JASON!
i loved it. and for who ever said it was a mash of scenes from the original franchise, why dont you finish reading the article and find out that you have to follow a like to see the trailer? you just watched what they had on this page, moron.
Anyone who complains about spoilers is completely retarded. If you didn't want to see any spoilers...don't watch a trailer dumb ass. Just watch the teasers.
From what I see in the new trailer, it does not look like a remake but a whole new concept for the story line. It makes me more excited to see it now because they are not rehashing the story ala Psycho remake. I loved the original and would hate to see them do it scene by scene the same...just suckier...make sense?
IT REALLY BAFFLES ME HOW ANYONE CAN SAY THEY DIDNT LIKE THE TCM REMAKE. I THOUGHT IT WAS BY FAR ONE OF THE BEST HORROR MOVIES I EVER SAW. I AM 30 AND HAVE WATCHED THEM ALL. THIS FRIDAY WILL BE AMAZING, LOOKS LIKE IT WILL BE SCARY, NOT TORTURE PORN AND DEFIENTLY NOT FOR KIDS...

Movie Review: FRIDAY THE 13TH Reader's Review!
Written by Stephanie Sanchez

IESB reader AEROMUNCH caught an early screening of FRIDAY THE 13TH due out in theaters Friday, February 13, 2009.
Read what he thought about it below,
I was lucky enough to see a test screening of the Friday the 13th reboot in Long Beach, CA a couple weeks back. They announced to us that it was the very first screening of the movie, there were a lot of exec looking folks and I spied Marcus Nispel over in the back as well.
They warned us that what we saw was rough but it seemed like a finished, complete product. Music was in, effects were in. Plot wise, the movie does not reinvent the wheel at all. In fact, it doesn't recreate any of the sequences from the first 2 movies. They are references in a classic scary story campfire scene, and there are a few visual shots that are things from the prior movies, but it basically acts like movies 1-2 happened in the past. For all intents and purposes, this movie acts like part 3.
So to give a breakdown of the film without giving too many spoilers:
It's not a PG-13 horror movie at all. It's been referenced in interviews, but there are a couple of nude/sex scenes in the movie (that are actually longer than I'd imagine...I'm wondering if they don't trim those down by release) and the kills are all creative and brutal as you'd come to expect from the Jason flicks.
It starts with a teenagers in the woods sequence and that gives way to the main storyline which is a bunch of bratty rich kids going up to their parents' cabin just off of Crystal Lake. They manage to have your typical slasher archetypes....the sweet girl, the slutty girl, the jerky jock, the weird guy who's destined to be the hero, the token funny guy (there's actually two in this one) and they all do their job well. You hate the jock, you root for the good guy and the comic relief characters are actually pretty funny. The movie got a few real laughs from the whole audience as well as some shrieks and groans on the harsher scenes. It uses a few of your typical "scare parts" but has some nice creative scenes as well...all in all it should be pleasing for fans of the series.
If you're familiar with Nispel's Texas Chainsaw Massacre movie, then you've got a good idea how this movie looks. It's got a lot of that movie as far as the set designs and lighting....which in my opinion isn't a bad thing. The movie generally has a serious tone, at least when Jason is around, and doesn't camp it up like Jason X or Freddy vs. Jason. It takes the character seriously and tries to portray him as scary, and it does a good job. I don't think slasher movies are super scary to start with, but this one makes a solid effort of it.
All in all, I came away really happy with the movie. I'm a big horror fan (and especially the Friday series) and it seems like the creators had a lot of respect for the series. They left the first two movies alone, and took the best elements of the rest of the series and made a movie with modern production values. I'll be curious to see how much they change before release, but I'll shell out my $11 in February.
"Hey, asshole...it's me you want remember...come on....come on chicken-shit...come on I'm standing here waitin'...come on ya' pussy"-----Friday the 13th part VI.
I saw the trailer and I think this movie will deliver. I noticed in the trailer that when the girl is in the lake, she see's jason, well if you look closely jason is wearing the hockey mask. I doubt this scene will even make the movie, since jason doesn't put on the mask till towards the end of the movie.
The Final Fate of Mrs. Voorhees in Friday the 13th
Source:Ryan Rotten, Managing Editor December 12, 2008
For a while there, it wasn't looking good for Nana Visitor who plays Mrs. Voorhees in the upcoming Friday the 13th. Reports from an October test screening said she was cut along with young actor Caleb Guss (lil' Jason Voorhees).
Producer Brad Fuller wants to make one thing clear: "Mama Voorhees is in the movie. Little Jason is in the movie. There was a time they were not in the movie, we were having problems with a scene. We figured it out, and now they're in." That's good news, no? Also promising: "We enhanced two deaths [after the test screening]. When we watched them with an audience, we were not getting the reaction we wanted so we made them better."
Fuller and co-producer Andrew Form are also quick to clarify that the recently released trailer (watch it here) does not give every kill away as some believe. And they are happy to hear that most of the online community is digging the preview.
They tell me that a Friday the 13th 6-foot standee is going to make its way into theater lobbies to promote the film. It features a cardboard Jason Voorhees choking one of his victims. Except, a hole will be located where their head is so you can place your noggin' in there and make it look like you're being killed! Have your cameras ready for your next jaunt to the multiplex. The standee will hit some theaters this week and go wider next week.
My name is Jason. As a young person, I got tired of people doing the "Friday the 13th" theme noise at me, although I was a fan of the fran(chise). The trailer for the reboot looks awesome. It makes me proud to share a first name with Young Squire Voorhees. Jasons of the world, raise your machetes high, with pride.
