I feel like should be screaming "in your face" as other horror websites attempted to throw an egg in our face when we previously reported this news back in May! Well, the egg is on them as we've officially confirmed that Mandate Pictures is working on a sequel to 30 DAYS OF NIGHT, and has Steve Niles and Ben Ketai listed as current writers (although that could change). We also have a synopsis for you: In the sequel to the bone-chilling 30 DAYS OF NIGHT, Stella seeks revenge on the blood-thirsty vampires that destroyed her sleepy Alaskan town. Could Melissa George return? Only time will tell...
I'm hoping the sequel will be good. 30 DAYS OF NIGHT was excellant in my opinion. One of the great vampire movies to come around in a long time. They have a tall order with this.
YES!!!! Sequel to my favorite vampire movie of all time!! Sounds like it'll be based off of Dark Days, the sequel to the original graphic novel. I've read all of the graphic novels and novels and hope they continue the movie series far beyond the sequel. If they use the gn/novels for inspiration, they could continue this series for years to come.
Hopefully they can improve on 30 days of night with this sequel because there were some annoying inconsistencies in the first not to mention Josh Hartnett's melodramatic acting.
I would prefer a prequel vs. a sequel (more back story about the vampires) - unless the vampires go to another area where night falls for a long time say ....
Sweden - Norway - Russia
The revenge idea doesn't do it for me (the whole revenge plot has been done to death) :-\
~(^)~
i'd be fine with a prequel OR a sequel. as far as mainstream media went, 30 days of night got pretty shoddy reviews, but IMO, it was one of the better films this year.
Ugh, the first movie was terrible, so no high hopes from me. Although, I don't think they could make the movie any worse than the original, so it has to be better, right? Maybe this time the "vampires" won't look like angry gerbils.
Can i say AWESOME!!!!! Seriously i loved the first one and i'm really glad they're makin a sequel. Just the feeling of hopelessness that the first one imposed was intense, i hope they can do it justice with a sequel.
I'm anxious about it, only b/c my expectations are high and I'm afraid to be disappointed.
