Update: watch it over at BDTV as well. Beyond the break you'll find the first official teaser trailer for New Line Cinema's Friday the 13th, which arrives in theaters February 13, 2009. What's so important about the teaser is that it features a voice over of Pamela Voorhees, who was said to be cut from the a recent test screening, although she could find her way into the finished cut of the film. This teaser is 100% different than the footage shown at the San Diego Comic Con in July and the 2008 Scream Awards this past Tuesday. The pic directed by Marcus Nispel is the retelling of the original Friday the 13th about teenaged summer camp counselors that are systematically slaughtered by a mysterious killer. Jason Voorhees will wear the mask and kill, keeping the famous setting of Crystal Lake.
Watch the trailer over at BDTV, also note that the official website is now live!
SO SO SO FUCKING COOL!! What a great teaser love Marcus nispel's directing style. He can make such great looking films. I have high hopes for this film and his outfit doesnt bother me as much as it did in the stills.
That looks absolutely terrifying, and the voiceover is just AMAZING. Can't wait to see this on the big screen tonite at midnite, it looks so awesome. Very creepy. I'll definitely be showing this trailer to ALL of my friends.
I'm seriously loving the fact that it looks scary as hell because I thought after the interviews that it was gonna be kinda cheesy! Siked for this movie!
texas chainsaw remake sucked ass i dont care what anyone says... and so did Pathfinder, so I dont hold high hopes for this director at all. He makes it look great, other than that he falls flat though.
So did they release two different teasers today? Cause I've seen one with the Pamela voiceover, and then one that is just an extended clip of a couple who end up getting attacked.
Both end with the badass shot of Jason charging that girl with the machete though.
This looks . . . pretty much expected. It's like Platinum Dunes Texas Chainsaw part 3. I liked the Chainsaw remake ( I know that I'm in the minority there) but this looks exactly like that, just not as creepy. I'll go see it, and I'll enjoy it because I like Friday movies, but it just feels like they're going through the motions here. That's my 2 cents anyway.
i LOVE the voice over! thank you FULLER & NISPEL et al. it leaves me wanting to see SO much more (but i guess that's the point of the teaser! LOL). i can't wait. i think the filmmakers are going to put back in to the movie the Mrs. V parts. YAY!
This is going to be so awesome. I loved their remake of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (thought it was better than the original) but this is going to be way cooler just because it's Jason.
I thought Nispel did a great job with the Texas Chainsaw Massacre remake. It was dark, dirty, and violent as hell... basically what a TCM movie should be. There is no doubt in my mind that he'll do an equally pleasing job with Friday the 13th. It looks awesome.
looks pretty awesome...i still don't get how it can be a retelling of the first film if jason wasn't even the killer in the first. but i guess with no good new horror ideas, things have to be rehashed to death
That looked awesome. The look and scenery was excellant. Loved to hear Momma Voorhees. I hope she is involved with the movie. I wanted her to be the killer in this one like the original and set Jason up for the next one, (of course there will be a sequel(s). But I'm very curious to see what they do with the story and will most certainly be there opening night.
I think that looks pretty sweet. I'm starting to really look forward to this. I enjoyed the TCM remake as a horror film, but I didn't like what they did with Leatherface. No sexual deviancy, just a skin condition. But that was the writers fault, not the director. Unless Nispel wrote it, which I honestly don't remember. Anyhoo, this one, however, looks good. And true to the source material, as far as I can tell. It could really go both ways from here.
Eh...We'll see. The TCM remake was OKAY at best and it did have its moments. To each his own, but anyone who thinks the remake is BETTER than the original TCM needs to have their card pulled. Oh well, we shall see about F13. Again, I hope I am proved wrong and this turns out to be decent. Alls I know is the clip of Jason running up on that girlie with the machete is gold! *lol* :)

The full HD trailer doesn't have the MySpace logos all over it either.
Now the bitching and complaining from most of you can stop thank God. I cant wait for this movie. I have been behind it since day one and i will stick by it untill the end.
Why always Nispel? I mean I did like The TCM remake, but Beginning was horrible. Basically the same old story but tweaked just a little. I think Zombie's Halloween remake worked because he is an avid horror fan, so it worked. Nispel is just getting a check, and I don't think he cares.
PIPAjon, i forgot, if you've read any of the interviews w/ Nispel and the gang who directed this FRIDAY movie, he has been a HUGE FRIDAY the 13th fan from the getgo. HUGE.
the trailer it self and what its selling is awesome, but wow what a lack of footage, obviously I know that its a teaser but a little more wasnt going to kill me. But yes, alot of things to like from that preview.
I have a lot of respect for Platinum Dunes, Michael Bay and Marcus Nispel. This looks awesome! I loved the Texas Chainsaw Massacre remake. It's too bad they couldn't have gotten their hands on the Halloween remake. I like their style more than I do Rob Zombie's. Thank you for breathing new life into this once-popular franchise! Going back to the basics with inspired touches from the first four films. Jason X was a pathetic end to an icon in the horror world.
as much as i'm dying to see this, the MY BLOODY VALENTINE 3D trailer kicks this teaser's ass. MBV looks fucking AMAZING!!!!
and i agree w/ JASONLIVES1986. would it have killed them and us if we saw a bit more footage?!
A turd, no matter how polished and stylied you present it, it's still a turd. Sorry, but I just think it's pathetic that now, from now on, everytime some1 mentions Friday the 13th the first things that's going to pop up is this mess.
Just a general comment: The kill-kill-kill-ma-ma-ma soundtrack is pretty much what helped make Friday the 13th legendary. That sound sent a chill down my spine and kept me awake many a night when I was a kid (in 1980, btw). Now, all these years later, when I hear it, I KNOW what it means. To NOT have that echo in this movie would have been tantamount to horror blasphemy. And any true Friday fan should know this. Just sayin'.
bodypuzzle, AMEN! the ki ki ki ma ma ma absolutely needs to be in this! it's almost a character itself (if that makes any sense) along with Harry Manfredini's score (unfortunately they aren't having him do the score).
At first I thought this was going to be terrible. No offense to fans, but I think the series went on wayyy too long. After seeing this preview though, I'm more then stoked.
Looks pretty awesome! I think all the nay sayers are just people who are never happy with anything anyways. Loved the remake of TCM (Maybe even more than the original. Sorry, but crazy chainsaw swingin' with no aim Leatherface only makes me laugh!) so I have faith in this and the fact it will be brutal!
This looks the goods, although I HOPE that Pamela Vorhees and little Jason ARE NOT CUT from the final film. As it will tie into the original Friday nicely, and that is what this film is meant to be about. And also, this flick is gonna look so f'n nifty on blu-ray when it finally comes out. Wow, can't wait for that day!
ok now i am happy that we atelast hear pamela vorhees voice!! i aint ticked off bout it anymore!!! yes i do love it now! it was way better than the one that was shown on here from the comiccon. yaaa!!!! ok now i am more pumped up for this
YEAHHH . how can any fan of the originals not be excited by this. if you went to see jason x and you think this one looks stupid, you need your head hacked off
I think this movie will be cool - but my biggest fear is that one guy is going to remake all of our favorites under one roof and one vision. At Comic-Con this same group was already talking about a rumored Nightmare on Elm Street remake as well.
Haven't been following the spoilers on this one yet, but I hope they end up keeping Mrs. Vorhees... that element of Jason's backstory is some of my most favorite elements of the original films...
I think this trailor looks really good i didnt really have high hopes for this movie when i heard about this but after seeing this i like what they've done so far and cutting out mrs. voorhees would be a HUGE mistake the voice over was phenominal!
Bad ass trailer. Seeing Jason running towards his next victim was insane. I think this movie holds promise. We have a good director at the helm. I enjoy the remake of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and im pretty sure i will enjoy this one as well. I thought the trailer was eerie.
I was discouraged when I heard this was being remade, but after seeing the bootleg trailer and this one, it looks pretty fucking cool. I hate movie theaters, but I'll deal with it to go see this one.
This is going to be terrible. Michael Bay is a piece of shit. If this was a continuation of the series I would have some hope for it, but seriously, a remake? This will probably be worse than Rob Zombies "re-imaging" of Halloween. I really wish Hollywood would stop fucking with my childhood and leave these movies alone. If it's not broken don't fix it.
I think that it is hard to make a good remake. If the film is too much like the original than why did they even bother making the movie "Psycho" and if it is nothing like the original then it sucks as well "Texas Chainsaw Massacre". I was thinking that this movie was going to suck but maybe it won’t. I like the fact that Jason is actually running instead of just standing there while he kills his victims. I also hear that he is going to be wearing the sac on his head.
It amazes me that people are surprised that Jason runs. He ran in 2, 3, and 4. To me those were better than zombie Jason, although I did like 7s Jason.
m. bay is a very good director. People that hate just don't appreciate good writers and directors because they have seen it all before. If most of the horror movies that come out today would have came out in the 70's or 80's they would have been glorified. But since they follow almost ever imaginable story line one could think of they will forever be tarnished in the eyes of false horror fans.
When people leave negative comments for all to see and for the stake of leaving, I wonder what have they done in there life to even be worthy to judge someone who has achieved something 90% don't have the mind or drive to even fathom, let alone recreate.
dude this movie looks freaking awesome and i cant believe jasons mom might be in this movie!! and i also cant belive that fat ass actually ran lol
