Update: Trailer now available at BDTV: MTV has scored the first online trailer of Peter Cornwell's The Haunting In Connecticut, which you can see on their site or after the break. In the film arriving in theaters October 31st, when Sara and Peter Campbell's son Matt is diagnosed with cancer, they uproot their family to Connecticut for his treatment. As the family settles into their new home, Matt grows increasingly disturbed by paranormal activity that seems to inhabit and possess the house. At a loss to help her frightened family, his mother turns to an enigmatic priest who appears to rid the house of its ghosts-- until the boy's condition takes a sudden and unexplained turn for the worse and their lives are put in grave danger.
I remember when they did a dramatization of this for "A Haunting" on Discovery. Looks like they went for more of an Amityville approach with the worrisome priest and the kid going crazy with the axe. I'll be seeing this one.
the "dramatization of this for "A Haunting" on Discovery" was insane. all of the jump scares and over the top action sequences are completely unnecessary. plus, all of the exposition about seances is retarded. good job ruining another great story for a movie.
i might be wrong, but didnt they do something like this in connecticut allready like a few years ago??? it was based on a true movie. (i am not talkin bout the ammytiville one either). unless i am thinking of a different movie??
The "true events" were more interesting. So, who was the HOT teenage chick doing the research of the seance? She has to be the cousin, right? The cousin suposably stays over while for a while and she eventually becomes the target of the son's attacks. And I don't think he had a girlfriend. And BTW, where's the man in the black suit with the pitch black eyes? He was suposed to be the prime demon haunting that house. Who the hell is this ghost kids wandering about? Super creative licence, shyeah!! Though I do recall the part where the mother was getting smothered by the shower curtain. I thought the "A Haunting" series version was pretty damn creepy. The thing about the "A Haunting" seem more realistic than most horror movies cause a lot of the casting choices are dead on. You'll the actors and actresses they choose look like the REAL PEOPLE they show in the interview portions of the show. They aren't some high end actors and actresses that look perfectly flawless, but have a more sincere look to them. That aside, the casting to THIS movie isn't all that bad. Virginia Madsen!! Excellent!!!
I also saw the dramatization on the Discovery channel. I thought it was pretty scary. They still show it I am sure since Halloween is just around the corner it will be shown again.
Already see differences in the movie. It looks pretty good but I wish they would stick to the truth instead of making it more money attention.
