If you click on over to BDTV you can watch the first three official clips from Sony Screen Gems' Quarantine, which arrives in theaters everywhere October 10th. The remake of the Spanish horror film [REC] is already becoming quite the topic amongst reviewers after two screenings here in Los Angeles. You can check out stills, the poster and more by clicking the title above. In the film TV reporter Angela Vidal (Jennifer Carpenter) and her cameraman (Steve Harris) are assigned to spend the night shift with a Los Angeles Fire Station. After a routine 911 call takes them to a small apartment building, they find themselves quarantined in the building with spreading infection. It's such a shame that this film is getting released before [REC] (especially if it's shot for shot) because it will completely kill the suspense and brilliance of [REC] for those who see QUARANTINE first. Trust me, everyone, see [REC] first and then this film -- you'll be glad you did!!!
I read somewhere (was it here?) that there's about 10 minutes of character development added to the beginning, but aside from that it's shot for shot. I'm a huge fan of [REC]...so I just hope they did it justice. I'll probably be seeing this.
Yeah, they're fast zombies... Watched the original last night. It totally kicked my ass, the whole thing was so intense, and then ending was so freaking creepy.... The last clip looks different because there are 6 people in the room instead of 4 like in [Rec]... but they probably just added these people to get a couple more on screen deaths
I haven't seen REC but I don't want to learn Spanish or just read subtitles the whole time just so I can enjoy the movie
