This morning we scored three hi-res still featuring Arlen Escarpeta, who plays Lawrence in New Line Cinema, Platinum Dunes and Paramount Pictures' remake of Friday the 13th, which arrives in theaters everywhere on February 13, 2009. Click here for our exclusive interview with the star and read about his role and his confrontation with the new Jason Voohees (Derek Mears). The pic directed by Marcus Nispel is the retelling of the original Friday the 13th about teenaged summer camp counselors that are systematically slaughtered by a mysterious killer. Jason Voorhees will wear the mask and kill, keeping the famous setting of Crystal Lake.

Why is he carrying a WOK in one of the pictures? hahaha I will say, and admit this is sad, but I'm just happy to get any news on F13th. Even if it's pictures I couldn't give a shit less about.
yeah, no offense to Arlen, but these pix are just...whatever.
i AM glad we get SOMETHING from this movie, so i'll try not to sound ungrateful. bring on a pic or 2 of something with more going on in it! PLEASE! :)
The basic plot is about COLEGE kids heading up to a cabin in a weekend getaway. So all we care, they could be 22. But not teenagers running a summer camp.
Every horror movie needs a token black guy. How else will the audience know how whack things are? If anything, I want to hear him yell, "God Damn!" Remember Duke from Rocky V? Gooooooodddd-Damn; only in America.
hes angry cause hes black? thats kinda racist. not all blacks are ignorant and angry crime causing hoodalims wearing baggy pants.
sheesh
anyway, i hope he dies quickly. the token black character.
GOOD! College kids! At least they are being fucking truthful and not trying to say these 20-somethings are 16 or 17-year olds. That kinda shit gets tiresome. If that was the case, I'm sure we can get Luke Perry to play a 14-year old hitchhiker that they pick up, who's heading to his grandma's! Though, I was never fond of purely angsty teens, even when I was a teen myself(and I was a teen during the early 90s, one of the most angsty periods EVER). I hope that's not the case and the pics just LOOK like he's angsty(and not really angsty).
Glad to see some new pics. Keep the news coming please. This movie's gonna fricken rule. I have a feeling he'll be killed by a blunt object, something to the head.
There are no teens in this film. I heard his character is at least in his early 20's in the film, I think like 22. Not a teen. The picture heading is as wrong. He is not playin a teen in the film. Of course he would be too old for that. I think the pix were basic cause they still didn't want to show us the meaty grimy stuff yet. Still kinda early. So far all looks good. Can't wait to see it!
RIP Cliff Burton, on this 22 yr. anniversary of your passing. One of the original Four Horsemen. Alcoholica-Drank 'em All !!!!! Metal Up Your Ass!!!! "Jason will return to the area he's familiar, no matter what you call it, it's still Camp Crystal Lake to him"-----Friday the 13th part VI.
Token black guy much... What's the fuss he can pass for a teen at least a 19 y.o. dude, Anyway Friday the 13th films are never based on any level of plausibility...HELLO a guy who rose from the grave put on a hockey mask & began a slutty counselor massacre.
I miss seeing actors in horror movies that looked like average teenagers and NOT actors or stuck up models like this dude does. I mean seriously, does anyone care if these kids who look like they could star in one of MTV's shit reality shows live or die? I mean look at Adrienne King from the original or Jamie Lee Curtis. They looked like your normal, average teens and not someone who would be hanging around with Paris Hilton or modeling in some fashion magazine.
sorry, but those new pics do nothing for me, roll on 24th october when we get the proper trailer. im desperate to see what marcus nispel has done with this.

Jason1978, these aren't teens that Jason is killing. They're all College students in their 20's - young adults. So they didn't do any mistake with the cast, since they weren't looking for teenage characters. And the "teens" in Friday the 13th were also young adults. Jamie Lee Curtis in 'Halloween' was normal, but really looked older than a teenager.
