Yesterday we reported that Shoreline Entertainment was working on a new From Beyond, with the only details provided was a synopsis, some teaser art and a production still (see em all here). Today we confirmed exactly what this project will be. We spoke with Summit this afternoon who tells us that the plan is to either remake Stuart Gordon's classic 1986 H.P. Lovecraft adaptation, or turn it into a TV series. Details are forthcoming, watch this spot for any updates.
They should go with the remake direction, UNLESS they can get the HBO/Showtime treatment for a series--which doesn't seem likely just yet. I don't want another horrible Sci-Fi Channel treatment with a $10 budget.
It could easily be a continuation of the 1986 film. The resonator lives! A new story with such a great concept should be as easy as snapping off a pineal gland! Please no bad computer graphics! Real rubber monsters!

we've truly reached the end of originality, haven't we? and the worst thing is that it's going to make more money then the original but while it suck donkey balls
Nobody can measure up to Jeffrey Combs' inspired 100% batshit performance in the original, and some silicon-inflated actress will fail miserably as she tries to fill Barbara Cramptons' high heels.
