New 'Saw V' Image Has Us Drowning In Thought

Earlier today we brought you a first look at the final poster for Lionsgate's Saw V, now a few B-D readers sent us a link to a brand new image from the film, which arrives in theaters October 24th. Unfortunately, there's nothing all that new in the image as it's already been shown in the teaser trailer and in an earlier still - hopefully more will pop up soon. In the fifth installment of the popular SAW franchise, which was directed by David Hackl, Hoffman is seemingly the last person alive to carry on the Jigsaw legacy. But when his secret is threatened, Hoffman must go on the hunt to eliminate all loose ends.

i thoguht it was like a box of sun raise, so he'd be burnt alive, but this is cool too.... dunno get the object of the game, and i don't perticually like the whole "box" concept but worthy of being watched i suppose...

As long as its more interesting than the fourth installment. It can't beat the first 3 through, at least in my mind.

I must say, the franchise has gone a bit out of hand. 2 and 3 were by far the best. 1 was ok and 4 was just a mess.

don't know what u guys are talking about, especially the "LAME!!!" comment. this is sick. its simple, yet makes you sit on the edge of your seat and go "oh my god come on Strahm, get your damn head outta the damn box!!!" sounds to me like i am going to really enjoy Saw V. PS just clarifying, i have nothing against haters. i believe that everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

ughh, the first was amazing, great original movie. i am one who loves sequels, but the saw sequels all seem so rushed and less than depressing.

I don't know what I think about this. At all. This could either be an amazing trap or Hackle could have ruined the series with this, and I'm starting to think the latter is a major possibility. I love every Saw, but . . . I don't know.

If you ask me, and you DO, I think the traps haven't got any better .. Here me out, for I will explain myself; When seeing traps in Saw IV AND a few traps in III, I just thought; "Come on, man? Is THIS the 'scary, impossible-to-escape trap?'" It's the originality I'm talking about .. I miss the scenes where we see a certain guy or woman in some kind of trap(s) where WE, US, the public, can go like; "OOHH!! F***!!! That's GOTTA hurt!!" or "WTF???" If you are still able to follow me, I miss those traps, where you could see that JigSaw had created the trap 'so brilliant, yet elegant in its simplicity' .. . I'm NOT trying to spread mass-confusion, and let you beleive that I'm only interested in the traps, b/c that's absolutely NOT the case .. I love EVERY little thing about this franchise. .. The acting, the dialogue's, the plot's, the twist's .. EVERYTHING .. But .. Still .. I miss something about them .. I mean .. Do you remember the razor wire maze? The flammable jelly? Amanda's jaw-splitter? The quadruple shotgun hallway? {Not really a 'trap', but it WAS brilliant .., according to me ..} The electrified stair-case, in Saw II, killing 3 SWAT-officers ... I thought this wasn't 'genius', but close to .. Troy's trap .. Absolutely magnificient .. Kerry's trap was just .. It really had me like; "WHAAATT????" . .Seriously .. Now could go on and on and on, but . .I think I've made my point quite clear enough ...

it's a fishtank? cute!

PromNight2008

Is this going to be the only decent trap in the movie, or are they just purposely keeping the others secret? I think we've seen enough of this (sort of lame) trap. Bring on some more diverse stills.

Midnight Crow

'Brilliant yet elegant in its simplicity' Doesn't that basically sum up the trap we see here? It's a small tank, it's got water, it can painfully kill you. To be honest the only traps that I disliked were the Pig Vat and probably only a few others (I can't think of them for some reason.)

GNUOY ADNAMA, good point. Unless he really IS supposed to just drink up all that water, is there even a way out of this trap like in the original movie?

Here's a unique torture: make the victims watch all four movies back to back. They surely will be gouging their own eyes out.

Big Bad Wolf

The 1st one was the best. As for the sequels, I make it a point not to bother.
