Today Lionsgate provided us with the first official stills from Saw V (trailer), which arrives in theaters October 24th. In the fifth installment of the popular SAW franchise, Hoffman is seemingly the last person alive to carry on the Jigsaw legacy. But when his secret is threatened, Hoffman must go on the hunt to eliminate all loose ends. Read on for the pics and start throwing around some theories about the latest puzzle.
I personally don't understand what there was to hate about Saw IV. I loved the twist about it happening at the same time as part III. Though to be honest, they've set themselves up for QUITE a challenge with part V, now that IV ended with Hoffman as the new 'apprentice'. There had better be some believable explanation, backstory, motives, ETC!
"Get out of this light box in 30 mins...or you'll have a really nasty sunburn! Did I mention there is no Aloe in the room either hahahahaha" - Man, Saw is really going downhill.
Yay~ I've been looking forward to the Saw news starting to trickle in.
And, yes, we get that "all the sequels suck" for you. People don't have to respond to EVERY Saw article with this.
Well, this is the first Saw movie in a while that is not going to be anything like the others. Well, it CAN'T be like the others because Hoffman is now the lead man. They say it's more like the first one, and from what I know it is very similar in pacing and style. Not much like Saw IV. Almost the blatant opposite. I think it'll be different, maybe the best, or maybe the worst. It depends on how they do it.
i guess cuz ur all so dumb u dont realize what that first pic is, in saw one there was a modular of the bathroom when det tapp and sing walked into johns lair, and that modular looks like identicle to the house in saw 2... im guessing that this will be pretty big...
Costas Mandylor looks like a completely bloated sausage pickler. Either that or the Montauk Monster. Seriously, why him? Why not...Cheech Marin or Bobcat Golthwait? Why Costas Mandylor?
i just have to say the new stills are sickkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk
I AM SO FUCKING TIRED OF PRICKS POSTING HOW MUCH THEY HATE SAW AN HOW THEY THINK THE FRANCHISE IS GOING DOWNHILL!!!
HERE IS A GREAT TIP!
LEAVE!
WHY ARE YOU WASTING YOUR FUCKING TIME!!!!!!!
I liked Saw IV to be honest. I liked the fact it showed you some of John's history, making him seem more human. Therefore making you hate yourself more because you love him.
I'm a horror fan, but I have never been a fan of the "Saw" films. Don't know why, but I can't get into them. I don't really like how each movie (in order for them to deliver a twist) does something ridiculous to change what we saw before or to retcon a storyline. While it worked in 1, when they kept doing it, it's like OK already. But I must say I give Lionsgate tremendous credit for giving their audience the same movie for 4 years in a row and they were all profitable. It's cool that there is a surefire horror release that makes money (even if I am not a fan of the series) But how long can that trend continue? I think "Saw 5" will be the lowest grosing of the bunch. Especially since it's up against the 300 Pound Disney Gorilla that is "High School Musical 3". I know that's a franchise we disregard as horror fans, but 17.5 million viewers tuned in for part 2. If half those kids show up at the multiplex, the "Saw" franchise's dominance in debuting at #1 is over.
Boycott this !!! Im a Saw fan, but I don't like corporate america sticking it to us little people! Boycott this and every lionsgate movie that comes out !!!
Boycotting Lionsgate is stupid. So what if MMT wasn't released in theaters. It's not like it was going to make 158 Million in it's opening weekend anyway. A movie with that kind of title was NOT going to be a major success. It's admirable for fans to stand up and demand to be heard, but to boycott a studio (because they decided to give MMT a limited release and shorten the DVD window) is silly. It will be on DVD quicker for you, you can see it faster, and it will be profitable because people who wouldn't have seen it in theaters will rent it. So stop with the Boycott talk. You will only spite yourself. I didn't see anyone boycotting FOX (when they should have) after the cinematic abortions that were "AVP" and "AVP2".
this looks sick no doubt i just hope that strahm doesnt get killed off in two seconds we need main characters to stay alive jeff for instance main character in 3rd dies in fourth after being in the movie for like 2 seconds and i hope the same thing doesnt happen with rigg and strahm
Like 'em or hate 'em the Saw movies aren't going away anytime soon. The major studios have already ripped them off (Untraceable was just a "high class" Saw); the camerawork and editing style are everywhere (anyone seen Fear Itself?); and Jigsaw has become as iconic as at least Pinhead, if not Jason, Freddy or Michael. Expect the worst, but hope for the best, because we'll almost certainly be kicking the same arguements around this time next year as Saw VI approaches.
you people are fucking stupid. Saw III and IV were massive achievements. they were probably too complicated for all you simpletons. I have a feeling that V might be the best one yet!!!
I'll have to agree with the above comment, but not entirely (I won't be calling all of you "simpletons").
I love the intricacy behind John Kramer's character, and part III and IV accomplished in humanizing him - instead of tossing him off as a sadistic mind-f*** (see Jason and Freddy).
I am a horror fan, and I consider myself pretty picky too. The SAW series have always been a unique addition to my collection of movies because it does more than just give you reasonable, tasteful, and just plain awesome gore - but does so while giving you other plot points, like character development, a focused setting (time and place).
I've always thought that if the SAW series were to become a series of novels - they would be considered almost as iconic as Anne Rice novels, as in considering them as "artworks".
This SAW V better be flippin' gnarly and raw or else my Halloween is Fucked.
