This afternoon Lionsgate held their panel for Saw V at the San Diego Comic Con, and to avoid bootlegging fiends (like us), they dropped the trailer on Yahoo! Movies simultaneously. Read on for your your look at Jigsaw's latest, which hits theaters October 24th. In the fifth installment of the popular SAW franchise, Hoffman is seemingly the last person alive to carry on the Jigsaw legacy. But when his secret is threatened, Hoffman must go on the hunt to eliminate all loose ends.
This is pretty stupid. It looks like he has a god damn tv on his head. Its official if this in real which i dont think it is then im am def. not going to see this movie. Plus Darren is gone so whats this movie going to turn out like???
no offense to Saw fans but that was one of THE lamest "teasers" i've EVER seen. they've been done filming for a while, right? couldn't they have put together SOMETHING a little better?
I really enjoyed the first film, but the rest have sucked. It's just a classic case of Hollywood trying to cash in on a franchise, trying to squeeze out every $ they can, and it is working. The acting, plots, and writing have all sucked on the last three. I am ashamed to admit to even seeing the last three films. I can tell you for sure that I will NOT be seeing this one. Even the trailer looks dumb. Another "torture porn" movie. That's all Hollywood knows how to make today.
B1 says: Looks awesome to me. In the beginning it really struck me as different from the other SAW films, but then it came back to what I've grown to love. For some reason I've been really excited to see what Hackl's going to do with this one. I don't really know what people expect out of a TEASER.. there's still like a quarter of a year until this movie comes out.
B2 says: I actually enjoyed the extent to which the info is limited. One of the greatest things I have enjoyed about the SAW series is the constant state of feeling like you don't know everything. It makes them very re-watchable.
I just got back from Comic Con and I have to say, Saw V was a disappointment! REPO! was waaaaaaaay more amazing! Especially the "Zydrate Anatomy" clip!

Ummm... i'm personally kinda pysched for this, i'll admit i was very dissapointed with saw iv at first... but after watching it, seeing all the cameos... the traps... the twist... it all grew on me... even thou i felt like i couldnt connect with the film because it was all new cast, but... david hackl has said most of our questions will be answered in saw 5, so im thinking hopefully we'll find out about amandas letter... dr. gordon... all of it, but im upset with the logo... it's not an instrument, not a body part... just a logo... i was hoping they'd use like four jigsaw pieces cut out of victims, like laid out to make some kind of puzzle or sumthing...
i liked the 4th one, thought it was far better than the 3rd cause it returned to the detective feel of the first, and im pysched about the 5th one, and calm down everyone its just a TEASER, wait till the trailer drops and then start bitchin
Chrisby...I must admit I've noticed a change of attitude with you this time around. Last year you dooged even the idea of Saw IV, but now you seem eager to see V. Thank you.
About the teaser...yes it was small...and a little weak, but maybe they don't want to reveal the best parts of the film, like Hancock did...all the best action was in the trailer, therefore the movie wasn't as exciting as I feel it should have been.
With this, I didn't even thing it was Saw with the soft music, but I do feel it's going to be great and overall...BRING IT ON!
That shouldn't have made me laugh, but it SO did... I'll go see it just to see what they can pull off, just like I did with IV... but I think the magic died with III.
At least it isn't as cryptic as "Saw IV"'s teaser, where you couldn't actually see anything. I'll hold off on my judgement until I can see some more footage.
dangerman6479 ur completely wrong... i love all saws.. i have posters, the billy doll... everything, and last year i went nuts over saw 4... its after seeing it i got angry, especially having a dumb twist like hoffman taking over johns work, but i like the ttime difference twist, i didnt see it at first, but hoffman was a good choice, because a detective would know ppl who dont deserve life, hed pick up drunk drivers and killers and know they dont respect like, and i understand why they choosed him... but after seeing it i was deverstated... but like i said, after i watched it... reconized some stuff and went over it... it passed i guess in the end, i even abused darren lynn bousman... and he offically weote back to me saying about how everything isnt buddled up into a box or sum shit...
with how lionsgate is handling the midnight meat train, i don't think i'll ever give those nitwits a dime no matter what movie it is. i'd rather just 'obtain' it and send the director a money order for the price of the movie plus a tip...

Yup...looks like I'll be buying ANOTHER ticket for ANOTHER Saw film. At least this is a smart franchise that takes itself somewhat seriously, while still playing to fans of the carnage and torture. I also like that each of the directors behind these sequels were involved in the original or preceding film...Plus it's written by the dude that wrote Feast!! Fuck it, I can't wait for this installment.
Come on guys, Saw has taken a low budget year after year, a filming window of about a month, and some unknown actors to make the best film franchise ever (In my opinion) Sure the trailer is short and the style is a little off from what we've come to expect, but look at the footage itself, nothing has changed. This movie will deliver and i'm definately going to see it and buy it!

SAW 4 SUCKED!!!. This teaser doesn't even look like a saw film. The dudes head doesn't even look like it's really in that box, and i think that the Saw franchise is getting a little out of hand, but im gonna see it anyway.
I Can't Wait To Saw 5. I Think This Movie Is Going To Be Great. Every Year I Anticipate These Saw Movies, And Next Year Not Only Is There Another Saw Movie But Hopefully They Still Release The Video Game Which Would Be Fucking Awesome!
I can't believe how much the original Saw sucked and how they've turned it around and made a great series out of it. Saw was a mess of kiddie horror cheeseballs. Saw II improved andfinally the series matured at part 3. Now I can not wait to see how it ends. It's just such a shame it started out with such a pile of crap. I don't ever need to see the original Saw again, but I can't wait for this one.

SO F*CKIN EXCITED!!!! Ok the teaser was way too short, but it was still good to see SOMETHING new. And that SAW V logo looks bad-ass! Overall, I think the best TEASER trailer for the series was SAW III, but atleast this one was better than the SAW IV one, even though it was short. Kinda reminesent of the SAW II teaser. Way more excited for this one than I was IV!
Honestly, i can't believe some of the people on this thing. Bitching about a film series they obviously hate, yet take the time out to write a comment on a page dedicated to the film in question. I actually thought that the teaser was quite weel done. Creepy and insightful, without actually telling us anything other then what you see before you. As for the logo, that was a little strange to see as it's basically a regular geeric logo, however, that's only a VERY small part of the overall film and either way, i'm still excited to see this.xoxoxoxox
Okay, the trailer was weak but the poster is awesome. And this isn't the only trailer, I'm sure. I'm not giving up hope on this movie. I think the head-box trap looks interesting. None of us even know how it works yet, so how can we judge it?
How can so many people say "This is lame. This movie will suck" when it didn't even really show anything? I'm sure it will be a great film for all of the Saw fans, and definitely better than Saw IV. Can't wait
yawn, torture porn had had its day ,time for something new but who am i trying to kid. As long as people keep going to see these shit films they will keep getting made. All Hollywood cares about is $$$, not quality and these films should have stopped at 3.

About this movie and the films, I feel it is possibly the greatest and most original series in the genre. I only wish my trap could make it into the series...doubtful. oh what about the tiime twist...think I might have missed it.

Someone on here said a "torture porn". Not sure if you meant the previous SAW movies or not. But when has there been a sex scene? The only nudity part I can think of was in SAW 3 with the girl in the Freezer room.
But its too hard to judge from the little teaser. I'll definitely see it though.
"Torture Porn" is a term used to describe all movies where people being blatently tortured are the main draw. like Hostel you only go to see hostel because you want to see people get tortured hence "Torture Porn" doesn't actually pertain to sex.
This chapter in the Saw Series should be OK but producers have no imagination and don't like to gamble with their money on new films so they stick with the same old same old. I'll see it but with the premise that there will nothing new in it that hasn't been seen in the other four before it. Maybe the gore will make it worth it.
