We checked in with New Line and apparently this isn't the final teaser poster, but a stolen image of the Comic Con poster circulating the web - the only difference is that "Comic Con 2008" will not appear on the final art. But either way, inside you'll find a clean look at the poster for Friday the 13th, which hits theaters February 13, 2009. In addition, we've received dozens of e-mails regarding the clip online and can confirm that was you see is an edited down scene from the movie, which will appear in the opening act of the film. Simple and to the point. Jason is an iconic character. Even people who aren't into the Friday films or have never seen one, will still know who it is and what the poster is for. I like it. Besides, all us true F13th fans should be ecstatic about seeing a new flick coming out. I know I sure as hell am.
tearsdon'tfall...this is just a teaser poster. it won't be hanging in theaters. There will a brand spanking new one by then. Hope it is just as striking.

It's kind of creepy the way it looks like Jason may have just stepped out of the shadows and you just stare into the black sockets of the mask.
