The ‘Underworld: Awakening 3D’ US Poster Has An Imaginative Tagline!

Published

on

Yesterday we had a foreign poster for the film that didn’t exactly reinvent the wheel and today’s stateside poster for Underworld: Awakening 3D falls pretty flat as well.

And that tagline kind of reminds me of a fake movie poster you’d see on the side of a bus in a movie. Where’s Lucas Lee?

The film is directed by Mans Marlind and Bjorn Stein and stars Kate Beckinsale, Stephen Rea, Michael Ealy, Theo James, India Eisley and Charles Dance. Screen Gems will release on January 20, 2012.

Kate Beckinsale, star of the first two films, returns in her lead role as the vampire warrioress Selene, who escapes imprisonment to find herself in a world where humans have discovered the existence of both Vampire and Lycan clans, and are conducting an all-out war to eradicate both immortal species.

‘Evil Dead Burn’ Director Says the Eventual Director’s Cut Will Be Way More Violent

Published

The next installment in the long-running film franchise, Evil Dead Burn just received its ‘R’ rating last week for “strong bloody horror violence and gore, and language,” making it clear that the new movie is aiming to be another ultimate experience in grueling terror. That’s the Evil Dead tradition, after all. But just how gory is Evil Dead Burn going to be?

Well, according to director Sébastien Vaniček, the theatrical cut of the movie won’t be quite as brutal as the Director’s Cut he hopes to release on home video down the road.

Vaniček tells SFX Magazine (via Games Radar), “There is a scene that is not R-rated. It’s a really, really hard scene. And I have to cut it, unfortunately, so you just won’t experience it as brutally as it is right now because I need to have the R-rated movie. So we are trying to find a good balance.”

The outlet notes that this interview was conducted before Evil Dead Burn officially received its ‘R’ rating, so it seems Vaniček was ultimately able to make the MPA happy with his edits.

“The director’s cut will be way more violent than what we will have in the theater,” Vaniček promises.

Even still, Evil Dead Burn is being promoted as “the franchise’s most savage and terrifying ride to date,” so there will be no shortage of bloody violence in the rated ‘R’ theatrical cut!

Evil Dead Burn releases in theaters nationwide July 10, 2026.
