‘Oldboy’ Not a Remake, Still….
At the premiere of his movie SEVEN POUNDS, Will Smith explained that the Oldboy he’s working on with Steven Spielberg isn’t a remake. “We’re looking at that right now,” he tells Film School Rejects. “Not the film though, it’s the original source material. There’s the original comics of `Oldboy’ that they made the first film from. And that’s what we’re working from, not an adaptation of the film…” I’m sorry, does it make a difference? The problem isn’t that they’re remaking a masterpiece, it’s that Will Smith and Steven Spielberg are remaking a masterpiece. I can’t wait to see the PG-13 version of this story….
Director Coralie Fargeat (Revenge) is back this year with brand new body horror movie The Substance, and the first look teaser trailer was debuted over on Deadline this morning.
The teaser runs just 40-seconds long – and you’ll have to head over to Deadline to watch it – but it gives us our first look at Demi Moore in the movie while revealing the storyline.
Here’s how the Cannes Film Festival website describes the film…

Ahead of the world premiere in Cannes, Mubi has acquired worldwide rights.
