Surveillance Director Transforms Into a Snake Woman
A film flying way under everyones radar is SURVEILLANCE, which was directed by Jennifer Lynch. The film has been receiving some high praises and yet there hasn’t been all that much talk via the web. Thankfully someone was paying attention as Lynch has been tapped to direct a new horror thriller entitled Nagin for Split Image Pictures. Read on for the skinny.
India-based Split Image Pictures has signed Jennifer Lynch (“Surveillance”) to direct horror thriller “Nagin,” toplined by Bollywood star Mallika Sherawat and Irfan Khan (“The Namesake”).
Govind Menon, president of Split Image, will produce and finance with Vikram Singh co-producing. Production is set to start in India next month.
Story’s based on the Far Eastern myth of the snake woman who is able to take on human form.
Pic’s backed by private equity and is part of Menon’s multi-picture financing deal calling for collaborations between Bollywood stars and Hollywood filmmakers such as Lynch. Budgets range from $5 million to $15 million.
Sherawat was recently cast in U.S. film productions “The Aquarian Gospel” and “Unveiled,” and Khan will next be seen in Mira Nair’s upcoming “Kosher Vegetarian,” “New York, I Love You” and Danny Boyle’s “Slumdog Millionaire.”
Sophie Thatcher stars in Nicolas Winding Refn’s Her Private Hell, and a brand new official poster this week celebrates the fact that we’re just one week from the film’s release.
Nicolas Winding Refn’s Her Private Hell will be released in theaters July 24 via Neon.

In the film, when a mysterious mist engulfs a futuristic metropolis, unleashing a deadly and elusive entity, a troubled young woman searches for her father. Her quest collides with an American GI on a harrowing odyssey to rescue his daughter from Hell.
Sophie Thatcher (“Yellowjackets”), Charles Melton (“Riverdale”), Kristine Froseth (How to Blow Up a Pipeline), Havana Rose Liu (No Exit), and Diego Calva (Babylon) star.
The ensemble also includes Dougray Scott (Hitman), Aoi Yamada (Perfect Days), Shioli Kutsuna (Deadpool & Wolverine), and Hidetoshi Nishijima (Shin Ultraman).
Nicolas Winding Refn directs Her Private Hell from a script he co-wrote with Esti Giordani (“Vida”). Pino Donaggio (Carrie, Don’t Look Now) composed the score.
Refn produces under his byNWR Originals banner. Executive producers include Takuma Takasaki, Kimberly Willming, Christina Erritzøe, and Lene Børglum.
Her Private Hell is rated ‘R’ for “some strong/bloody violence, sexual content, and language.”
