TriStar Pictures and Escape Artists are developing an adaptation of Christian Cantrell’s short story Anansi Island, Deadline reports today, described as a female-driven sci-fi thriller.
Daniel Kunka is adapting the story.
Anansi Island centers on a mysterious island where a secret government project has unleashed a terrifying new reality.
“A female entomologist and a group of Special Forces soldiers then must team up to unravel the mystery and survive the island.”
The tale has been described as being “Michael Crichton-esque.”
