First Photos of Pennywise on ‘IT: Chapter Two’ Set Tease Recreation of Paul Bunyan Scene from Novel

Published

We’ve seen a handful of photos from the set of IT: Chapter Two these last several weeks, but we got our first look at the return of Pennywise over the long weekend. A handful of photos from the Ontario, Canada set show Pennywise (either Bill Skarsgård or a stunt double) perched atop Derry, Maine’s Paul Bunyan statue, which is nothing if not an interesting sight.

Fans of Stephen King’s novel will recall that Pennywise had taken the form of the Paul Bunyan statue to terrorize Richie, so this *could* be the filming of that scene from the book…

Muschietti returns to direct the sequel, which features the adult version of Losers’ Club members who survived the malevolent Pennywise as kids in the 1980s.

James McAvoy plays Bill, Bill Hader is Richie, Jessica Chastain is Beverly, James Ransone is Eddie, Andy Bean is Stanley, Jay Ryan is Ben and Isaiah Mustafa is Mike.

Barbara Muschietti, Roy Lee and Dan Lin are producing the pic from a screenplay adapted by Gary Dauberman.

Warner Bros. will release the film in theaters on September 6, 2019.
