The great thing about FoF though is that it runs all weekend; screenings Friday night, parties Saturday, and a Sunday screening featuring one of the guests of honour. (this year it was Tobe Hooper screening TCM) So if you're in TO at the time, I definitely recommend you check it out.
Why are you coming here for three months?
Planning on going to the Fantastic Film Weekend next year though. This years lineup was amazing!

Ah that's a shame. Though funnily enough it was the second volume that Iw as considering picking up. I always found Vault of Horror a little more twisted than Tales From the Crypt (never seen the series though). Crime SuspenStories seems pretty good too. I'd love to see them deal with noir style stories (which I assume they do in that collection).
How is it over there? Because to put it bluntly... this forum has become pure crap.
Also did you ever pick up those Tales From The Crypt Archive books? Are they really worth the cash?
If I were you I'd buy Horror of Dracula and The Curse of Frankenstein then decide from there. (neither of which are in the boxset).
I've noticed that I'm usually of the same mind as you when it comes to film. Maybe I'm wrong though, and our mutual love for Lake Placid is telling me otherwise.
You should pick up FLESH FOR FRANKENSTEIN too while you're at it.
I'll just run through a few. Youll probably already own some. Some Italian, some not.
BLACULA, SCREAM BLACULA SCREAM, DR. BLACK & MR. HYDE, the Hammer Films DRACULA series, TORSO, KNIGHTRIDERS (not horror, but good), the Emilio Miraglia box set (w/ THE NIGHT EVELYN CAME OUT OF THE GRAVE & THE RED QUEEN KILLS 7 TIMES), BURIAL GROUND, THE BLOOD ON SATAN'S CLAW, Q THE WINGED SERPENT, MARTIN, HOUSE WITH THE LAUGHING WINDOWS is pretty good.
Non horror: SUPERFLY, BLACK CAESAR & HELL UP IN HARLEM, Fulci's CONTRABAND, THE BIG RACKET (Italian crime flick), THE BIG DOLLHOUSE & THE BIG BIRD CAGE, REFORM SCHOOL GIRLS.
There's a few. If I think of more I'll send 'em your way.
But I'll warn ya- it's slow and not super violent.
Very cool though! Great tone & atmoshere, photography, etc.
What kinds of things were you thinking of getting?
It is a Spanish Slasher.
John, a loutish optometrist orderly, louses up on the job and is dismissed. His odd, little mother, using a form of hypnosis, sends him out on a killing spree, starting with Caroline, the woman who caused his dismissal. But this is all just a movie titled "The Mommy" being shown to a small matinee crowd at a seedy movie theater in Los Angeles. As it happens, two teenage girls in the audience, the strong-willed Linda and the squeamish Patty, discover that one of the patrons sitting near them is a real maniac. In the old movie, when the scalpel-weilding John enters a movie theater and beings killing the patrons and theater employees one by one, and removing their eyeballs for his mother's collection, the killer in the audience, armed with a silenced .38 pistol, begins killing the patrons and employees of the theater in a manner which parallels the action on the movie screen.
What movie you thinking of?
