Mayhem’s Necrobutcher To Be Exorcised On TV

Mayhem has never been a band to shy away from controversy, whether it is laid at their feet or they purposefully incite it. So it comes as no surprise to hear that bassist Necrobutcher has agreed to go on TV with evangelist Bob Larson to be “exorcised”. Does Necrobutcher feel that this will work? To put it bluntly, not at all. Check after the jump for quotes from Necrobutcher himself.

Necrobutcher: “NRK is sending me over to Phoenix, Arizona next week. There’s this famous preacher. I’m not a believer, so I think he’s a quack. A very religious guy. He’s an exorcist; that’s what he does. I’m just there for the fun of it. He’s gonna perform an exorcism on me on national TV. So it’s gonna be wild as fuck and, of course, I don’t expect to suddenly be free from some demons or whatever. I’m just there for the fun of it and for the hell of it.
“All religious people, when they talk about [how] they talked to God or God talked to them, stuff like that, I know it’s a lie. Because they look at all the people, they speak in tongue, it’s a mass, they get into that stuff, they think, ‘If I behave like that guy, all the people will think that I truly have an open connection straight to God’ or whatever. But for us, enlightened people, we know that it’s all bullshit, that they’re full of fucking lies and shit. And that’s why I’m there: to give a little punch and a kick in the ass to this little quack and people saying that they have direct contact with God and shit like that.”

Marco Beltrami’s ‘Scream’ Score Gets Deluxe Reissue For 30th Anniversary

Seminal slasher Scream rewrote the rules in 1996, and for its 30th anniversary,  Varèse Sarabande and Craft Recordings are celebrating with a new anniversary reissue of Marco Beltrami’s landmark score.

The original 14-track album returns to vinyl in a collectible “blood-soaked” sleeve on August 28.

If blood red isn’t your color, there’s good news: the reissue will also be available in many different limited-edition exclusive pressings.

An Extended Cut Edition of the Scream (Original Motion Picture Score), featuring all 40 of the film’s cues from the 2022 Scream boxset, will also be available on CD. All formats are available to pre-order or pre-save today.

Marco Beltrami composed the iconic score as a then young, up-and-coming composer—one who, ironically, had never scored or even seen a horror film.

Yet just three years after he completed the University of Southern California’s rigorous scoring program, Beltrami submitted 13 minutes of music for Scream’s opening sequence and his future was forever changed. “We knew in half a minute that we had found our composer,” Craven told Variety in 2012. “The music was haunting, beautiful and totally original. Marco turned out to be shy and soft-spoken, but a fountain of ideas and innovation. I never looked back.”
