Ever thought about what the world would be like if the Devil himself was walking on earth with us' Or what if there is a highly popular law firm in the middle of New York and the Devil himself is the managing Director'

This movie starts with a small town Attorney, Kevin Lomaz (played by Keanu Reeves) has never lost a case, but he is about to. His client, a sex offender, he knows is guilty but for his career and his hotshot winning streak, he decides to beat the last witness down regardless and win the case. This then makes him hot property and he is quickly visited by a man from a highly recognized law firm in New York who want them on their team.

After accepting the very nicely paying offer, Kevin and his wife (played by Charlize Theron) move to New York. They are given an apartment by the firm and they decide now is a good time to start a family. They make new friends quickly and Kevin goes straight to work.

Al Pacino plays the Devil, or Kevin's boss. It is a powerful performance that probably makes this movie what it is. The Devil has a plan and needs Kevin to master it, so as Kevin gets more and more involved in his cases, his boss temps him lower and lower into damnation. His wife, stuck at home, starts to go mad as the Devil starts to dance with her too. Kevin tastes every fruit his boss gives him and forgets the real world in which he once lived in.

Without spoiling it for those who haven't seen it, I really can't tell you much else. This movie is about so many things-temptation, greed, religion, love, vanity and the fight between good and evil. It is a definitely entertaining as the acting is very impressive and the plot thickens smoothly and tastefully through out the movie. The ending is smart and witty that will leave you slightly hanging but it is supposed to.

I don't recommend it for those looking for a gory horror film with monsters and vampires because is it not what you will get. It is a movie that will get you thinking, not one that will get you screaming. There is some special effects with faces being warped but mostly the work is done by the actors, not the computer.

I felt the only criticism was the movie is a bit long. It tends to sag in some areas but does pick up in time. Keanu Reeves is a little different in this role that may surprise a few of you. Charlize is always stunning and works well with the film and Al Pacino' Do I need to say more' The man is a legend.

Also starring Jeffrey Jones, Judith Ivey and Craig Nelson. It is a movie I suggest you add to your collection' I give it 8 out of 10.

Score: 8 / 10
