NOES trailer response overwhelming, a few questions answered, Friday 2 or 13?
5:14pm, October 1, 2009

Freddy Krueger in A Nightmare on Elm StreetI have to thank many of you. The debut of the teaser was really amazing. Whether you like it or hate it, the release of it was huge. More that 1.6 million people saw it in the first 24 hours. The traffic to the teaser even clogged up Bloody-Disgusting for a day. As many of you know getting the teaser to you has been quite an ordeal - one that I think deserves an explanation...

Originally, our teaser was to be released on Jennifer's Body and I was excited to tweet all about it. I announced on my twitter page that I would make an announcement within two weeks, assuming that all the plans came to fruition. But what happened was we liked the teaser, yet felt it needed to be better. Our intention always to reveal Freddy at the very end, but we had three different scenes and couldn't decide on which one was the best. At the same time Mike Jones (Warner bros.) Drew, Bay and I keep reworking the body of the teaser. Asking ourselves, "are we showing too much, not enough etc." We wanted to be sure that whatever we released was the best version. When we finally decided on the final version of the teaser it was too late to be on Jennifer's Body - so we looked at the release schedule and felt that Zombieland could work for us.

At the end of the day are there things we would like to change in that teaser? Of course. But knowing our team we would keep changing things till the end of the time. Let's be honest, Drew and I know that NOES is the most important film we've made. We know how all you feel about Freddy, and how you feel about us. We don't want to be the guys who screwed up Freddy and as such are pushing ourselves harder than we've ever pushed. Moreover, we have found a wonderful partner in Sam Bayer. He has such high standards and refuses to cut any corner.

I have been receiving a couple of questions and want to answer some here:

Is that Freddy's final look?

No, it isn't - we are continuing to refine Freddy's look. Many people commented about the CGI on his face - and I don't want to give everything away but I will say this - Freddy's face is 98% practical make-up. Moreover, as you now know we went hardcore on what a burn victim really looks like, and I can't imagine what the comments would have been if he DIDN'T look like a real burn victim.

Is that Freddy's final voice?

No, Jackie spent so much time on the voice, researching what people who've has their vocal cords burned sound like. He is still working on it and I suspect that we will be refining it, until the last moment.

Will it be rated PG-13?

Are you kidding me? Make no mistake about it this is a R-rated movie.

Finally, many of you tell me how you have been defending me in chat rooms. I just want you know that I really appreciate that. We will never be free of haters, but if we can at least present ourselves in an intelligent way we can point out the absurdity of having a negative opinion about something that doesn't even exist yet.

Anyway, stay tuned as I hope to have some Friday 13th part 2 (or 13 depending on how you are counting) news soon.

TwistedFate_L4 5:31pm, October 1, 2009

Please bring the original F13 score for the sequel. Please make F13 part 2 a true horror film, stop with the comedy.

psyXcho 5:34pm, October 1, 2009

I did like the trailer but am still iffy on the look/voice. I look forward to the final product!

ShaZamy 5:35pm, October 1, 2009

PLEASE Have Clay/Jared back for F13-2

dazedsmoker 5:37pm, October 1, 2009

Thank you Brad, the trailer looked amazing. I mean we still got what, 8 months until release? Glad to get what we got, could have been much much worse. I remember Harry Potters first tease for the latest (granted not horror but a big movie), it was like all you could hear was some people talking and then it saying Harry Potter and the blahblahblah, do you know how pissed I would have been to get something like that? To judge this movie off the first teaser trailer is ridiculous, in my opinion. Keep up the good work guy.

qwerty90221 5:37pm, October 1, 2009

Thanks for clearing up some of these questions. Regarding Friday the 13th, will the score by Steve Jablonsky be released? I thought since the movie did good at the box office, a release of the score would have followed.

GI.Dan 5:40pm, October 1, 2009

Yeah man Friday 13th in the snow w/ Elias Voorhees brought in to try and stop Jason would be Ideal for me. Please no more clay this time though. Keep up the good work!

DGo8 5:40pm, October 1, 2009

I told people on youtube/facebook & on here they wil change he's voice they done it with roberts voice alot! and 98% of the face makeup...whats gonna be CGI then?

GI.Dan 5:40pm, October 1, 2009

Also agree with the guys who say bring on the OG score again.

GI.Dan 5:53pm, October 1, 2009

Sorry bout' the tripple post, but I posted this in another forum regarding the next friday 13th, and wanted to share it with you. Man, I think it would be great to have it set in the snow. That's something we have never seen, and it's not a ridiculous departure like sending him to space or hell. I would love it if Elias Voorhees made his first appearance in an F13. I think the character would be played out well if he were to come back to crystal lake and tried to stop Jason, and end what he inadvertently started. Jason's mom was obviously a crazy bitch (or at least turned into one), and it would make sense if Jason's father was the more grounded of the two parents. You could say that after Jason's "drowning", Elias and Pamela split up. Elias becomes an alcoholic or something, and appeared to fade into oblivion after Jason's death. With the recent murders (the events of the remake), Elias suspects that the rumors of his son's return are true, and he ventures to Crystal Lake to try and stop Jason from killing any further. Elias would have an advantage over Jason, as it could be presumed that Jason would have an emotional attachment to his father. It would be cool if Elias was played out kind of like the Duke character from JGTH. I would like to see him be played by an actor like Kris Kristoferson, or Harry Dean Stanton, or even R. Lee Ermy. There would still be plenty of room for teens too. In keeping with the winter thing, perhaps they could have a bunch of kids @ Crystal Lake for Hockey Camp or something. Sorry if I sound like one of those guys who goes on movie forums and post's stupid Ideas for movies they have, and is all like "HerE Iz My sKRIpt!! tEll mE What U GuYz tHinkS!!". Just kicking around ideas is all.

ttop33 5:54pm, October 1, 2009

Jesus, grow a damn spine. Now you wont even take credit or pride in your own work. Saying "Oh its not finished for every negative response." At least someone who does a piss poor job and fesses up to it and says "This sucks but I made it" deserves a little respect. You are basically just a rat. How can you claim to present yourself in an intelligent way when you cannot make an intelligent film. Hell you guys cant even come up with your own ideas. You aren't filmmakers, you are leaches sucking off of someone elses creativity. If these remakes weren't just slash and burn, move onto the next. And made by a competent production team then they might be acceptable. But they are just sad, Hire a cheap writer, a music video director "Who can make a flashy trailer", and cheap actors and you get crap. You guys should be ashamed of yourselves.

Shierky 5:54pm, October 1, 2009

Brad I must say the more I watch the teaser the more I can not wait to see the movie, the look of Freddy so far is awesome the voice concerns me but I am sure it will be better by the end and for the release. As for F-13 well let the good times roll. Looking forward to the final product of NoES and of course the release, Freddy lives once again!

Scream110 5:57pm, October 1, 2009

Please bring back some campers! That was really missing from the reboot, and pulling a similar plot to the original "Part 2" is a smart move.

adamh 6:00pm, October 1, 2009

Good looking out Brad! Exactly what i was saying in my posts here and other places!

Iliveonelmstreet 6:00pm, October 1, 2009

I gotta agree with the comment on hating something you have yet to see, that's like going up to a pregnant woman pointing to her belly and saying,"Your kid is gonna be fucking ugly and a hell raiser" how the hell do you know??..Anyway thanx for reviving MY Freddy!! for the fan's who love Robert AND the character of Freddy I am soooooooo THANKFUL that Freddy will not die as a head being carried by jason,or in the comic's..This character is MORE than robert sure he is the person that we ALL associate the name with and he will ALWAYS be the definitive and FIRST freddy but just like dracula do you KNOW how many there have been and will be?? most kid's my age could not tell you who Bella lougosi or how ever u spell it is but I bet you they know who Dracula is,and sadly that's the reality of the generation's changing...If this character get's the support it has been getting Jackie will NOT be the last to play Freddy. There is probably some guy that has yet to even be born yet that will play Freddy in 2045 or something I refuse 2 let this character die and fade away!!..and I thank GOD pd did not either...it could be worse..freddy could be in a trailer park being tormented by his step dad and goes in2 the kitchen, tapes some knives to his finger's kill's his lil step sister to vent his anger and frustration thus the Rob Zombie's Freddy is born!!

OBrien18 6:11pm, October 1, 2009

I honestly can't wait for this movie. Platinum Dunes movies just keep getting better, and I think all the work you've done on this movie is remarkable. From the very being everything about this movie, the casting especially has had me freaking out. I have never been more excited to see a movie that's so far away. You make great horror movies and the fact that they are remakes (which of course people are going to hate because of this fact alone) shows how great they are, because I end up wanting to watch your remakes more than the originals. Thank you for everything:]

el_acidzom 6:30pm, October 1, 2009

Gotta say, I think the NOES trailer is fantastic. It looks to be exactly what I've been waiting for for some time: a serious, frightening, gorgeously shot Nightmare On Elm Street, something we haven't had since '84. Can't wait! :D Keep up the good work guys!

keepin It Reel 6:35pm, October 1, 2009

Thank god that's not Freddy's final look or voice ! I was seriously worried because it looked like piss poor CGI. And as for the "F13" sequel, I keep hearing everyone talk about setting it in the snow, and I don't really mind that. It sounds like a cool idea, as long as it's still set in Crystal Lake, but as far as the whole Jason's dad thing, I think that's a fucking stupid idea. One of the things I liked about the remake was the fact that you only see Jason's backstory for the first few minutes of the film, it tips it's hat to the original, then gets right into the killing. There's been twelve movies so far, so if people don't know Jason's backstory well enough by now then either they've never seen a "Friday" film before (which is their problem), or they have A.D.D. I don't give a fuck about Jason's father, or their "relationship", I want to see Jason cut loose and go on a Rambo style rampage after his villains. That father plot will only weigh down the story. You guys should devote your efforts to fleshing out the characters/victims, and make them beleivable, and most importantly, likeable. Did we not learn from Rob Zombie's "Halloween" remake ? That backstory thing completely raped and took away from the Micheal Myers character, so I don't want to see that happen to "F13". Anyways, just my two cents, or ten. Adios.

keepin It Reel 6:37pm, October 1, 2009

Sorry, meant to say victims not "villians". It's those damn typos again !

EnglundFTW 6:46pm, October 1, 2009

I don't care how much you guys improve the make up or how much Jackie changes jis voice. The truth is, you guys are stealing someone else's idea which turned out to be a major success and turning it into shit. There will never be another Freddy Krueger either, I do not care what anyone else says, Robert Englund will always be the real Freddy in my eyes. I also hate how you guys are explaining his back story and changing it around in this remake. Freddy is supposed to be a sick twisted child murderer who is not afraid of dieing because he wants powers to make him be forever in people's dreams so he can continue killing them. Having Freddy as a child molester and making him a wuss before dieing does not work for me. I guarantee you, I will not be seeing your remake.

GI.Dan 6:58pm, October 1, 2009

Well 'keepin It Reel', you know none of the Friday movies are really about Jason. They are about some other fucks for 80% of the movie, and then you have Jason in them a little. Every time they make a sequel the people who make them want to "mix it up a little" and it usually turns out to be a fucking catastrophy (Space,Hell,Imposter,NewYork). I just figure if they want to change it up why not tell us something about Jasons dad? He must have a dad right? And yes I have seen all the Friday films multiple times for over 20 years, and I wonder where the hell Jason's dad is. Since Jason is still a child of sorts at least mentally, his dad might be the only one with a tactical advantage over him. There would still be plenty of room for Jason to "go on a Rambo style rampage", why would you want to change that? I'd at least want to see Jason go up against a formidable opponent, as opposed to another stupid fuck like the guy who played Clay in the last one. Fuck it, it's the 13th one, why not have something diffrn't, that isn't fucking retarded, which is what we usually get when they try to "mix it up a little".

Murder, INC. 6:59pm, October 1, 2009

Trailer looks good, and I'm anxious to see it, but why in the hell should this be more important than any other film you've decided to remake? Why don't you put a team together with just the same amount of passion to fix up the next F13.. No cutting corners, right? Hire new writers and ditch the tired comedy routine... you only need a little if any - remember the originals? And bring back his look from parts 3 and 4. The hair is as rediculous as michael myers having wrestler hair. Stop being a new aged cliche.

Murder, INC. 7:00pm, October 1, 2009

Other than that, I dig your style.

F13 FanAtic 7:16pm, October 1, 2009

I, too, am worried about the new backstory for Freddy. If Freddy didn't do anything, why does he now kill? If he WAS simply a child molester, why would he come back to kill the kids? That whole, "they told on me" thing is lame. I hope you kept the dark humor intact, because a mean Freddy with no wit is BORING. As for the new "Friday," bring back the Manfredini score or at least do an update on it. Also, the kills really need to be amped up. I know you want realism, but the new ones were pretty yawntastic. Keep Jason in the shadows more. We saw too much of him in your remake. I don't want to know where Jason is. He's supposed to pop out of nowhere and do his thing. Also, no more teen stereotypes. These friends should be friends! None of the kids in the remake were real. Most importantly, no more tunnels and overexplanation.

maniac cop 998 7:18pm, October 1, 2009

good to here that most is make up and 2 paercent is cg and that he voice will be even cooler and i hope that f13 part 2 will be better i was a big fan if it but then i started to think it was so so and i do hope that the mask will be completely clean and more emotionless and keep the boodocks saints like jacket keep the big ass machete but make him use more tools like the weed wacker from part 7 or a harpoon kill from 3 or 8 and make the kills SUPER GOREY AND INVENTIVE and please get new wrighters and like ive suggested have like tommy jarvis as an adult in crazy ralph maybe and flashbacks of psycho bitch killin idiots and have it in spring break lots of kills there and people doin pot and having sex and ass sex and people gettin drunk that will make jason like super pissed like angry video game nerd pissed and for the score for noes have the origanal but make it way creepier

Nightmare 7:21pm, October 1, 2009

I was Jackie's biggest supporter to play the new Freddy... until I watched the trailer. It's not ALL his fault. The design and look of his face is awful and not scary. He looks like a fucking turtle. On the other hand, his voice really did suck.. Don't give me that this isn't the final look bullshit either. If it changes much it'll be all CGI, and then your 2% CGI comment will be a lie. The movies done, and he will more than likely look identical to what he looked like in that abomination you call a trailer. I guess fucking Jason up just wasn't enough for you assholes? Great, you jokesters get to make the 13th F13... what a fucking let down. I WAS HOPING THAT ENTRY COULD BE GOOD!

Nightmare 7:22pm, October 1, 2009

Oh, and it looks like you are making Freddy a victim and wrongly accused. Can you say LAME?

Jonny Darko 7:22pm, October 1, 2009

Hey Brad, I must say before i congratulate you on the teaser success i must say there must be loads of idiots on this website who don't understand what you guys at PD are trying to achieve. ANOES 2010 is a re-imaging for this generation, therefore freddy's apperance must be altered, his voice must be changed and a new actor must portray him. Besides all that people still think JEH was the wrong choice, well it looks to me that a oscar nominated actor is perfect for the new freddy, he looks awesome. WELL DONE on the trailer i can't wait for it's release

Nightmare 7:28pm, October 1, 2009

No Darko, you dumbass, we understand all of that. I said myself I was very excited to see Jackie tackle the role, but from the trailer he looks awful in it. Just because his look and voice had to be changed does that mean he had to look like a turtle and sounds like someone with marbles in their mouth?

Jonny Darko 7:37pm, October 1, 2009

A turtle, are you serious? Your the dumbass. You clearly don't like PD as you gave Friday 1 skull?

Lord_Samhain 8:11pm, October 1, 2009

Alright, If im not mistaken this is a movie, not a burn ward, why the hell did they have to fuck with the iconic look of Freddy. Realistic burn makeup in a very unrealistic movie about a killer coming back in kids dreams and killing them. WTF. And by the way if you do rip off Tales from the Crypt( if you don't know what i'm referring to here please do you homework, i'm sure whoever wrote this piece of crap did) and make Freddy an innocent victim who comes back for revenge...well you suck.

DARKDECEMBER 8:22pm, October 1, 2009

When are you guys going to just start directing the films?

Nightmare 8:31pm, October 1, 2009

You're right, I don't like PD, Darko. They make crappy movies. What was there to like about their remake of Friday the 13th other than Mears as Jason? NOTHING!

nxtwwewomenschamp 8:50pm, October 1, 2009

I am super pleased with the NOES Teaser trailer. I thought it was awesome and I can't wait to see the film. One comment that I heard was that the remake looks too much like a carbon copy of the movie and I totally disagree. I am seriously pleased with the fact that there were some iconic scenes brought back fo rthe remake (The tub scene, the chick being raised in her sleep.) It would not be a Freddy remake without them! I am totally pleased and I can't wait for more trailers to come. Pat yourselves on the backs!

LEPOS 8:50pm, October 1, 2009

hey brad, i'm a 32 year old film buff/slasher lover. i gotta say, you've got one of the best jobs in the world. i have a comment about the new friday sequel. i loved the last one, but i felt the vibe of it was a little light, kinda along the lines of jason lives (don't get me wrong, i love jason lives). i just think the next one could be a bit darker/meaner, that's all. and more gore, there was plenty of blood in the last one, but i'm talking tom savini gore. thanks, hope you get this.

hail2daking22 9:20pm, October 1, 2009

im excited about this...i will admit that I was originally a hater and wanted nothing to do with this film cuz, but after seeing the trailer and what jackie has done with freddy made me excited about the franchise again. i am really looking forward to seeing this movie!

cohagan 9:24pm, October 1, 2009

Horror fans are a funny bunch, i mean those who scream about PD ruining friday the 13th and now NOES need to get a grip, they were totally ruined way back in the 80's. except for F13 pt 2 all the rest were utter and complete shite, same with the elm street films 1& 3- the rest were garbage. Any of you who say they are good are looking at them purley nostalgically because the acting, dialogue and storylines are complete horseshit and this is someone who used to love all those sequels. Anyone hating on PD for their films needs to get a serious grip, these guys should be applauded for actually rebooting these franchises and having a decent stab at them ( no pun intended)

Sephit 9:25pm, October 1, 2009

I agree with LEPOS, make the film meaner and darker and no caves please. The gore should be tom savini style and gore in which it atleast touches on the gore in the original films. The score and look of the film just didn't make it feel like a friday film last time although the film had its moments. Thanks for listening to the fans Brad, I still think the Remake of TCM is the best film you guys have done to date. Good luck with ANOES.

DANEBUCKLER 9:26pm, October 1, 2009

Brad, I have never been a Hater of you or anyone who make's A living doing what they love, I Have been a Fan of NOES since 1984, and it is about time to bring it back to the darker side of Freddy!! the Haters are just a bunch a nobodies !!! good luck with all of your work

cohagan 9:28pm, October 1, 2009

Oh yeh and i like how freddy looks and sounds in the trailer so i really hope they arent changing it because of what certain whiny rose tinted glasses wearing dickheads want, cos those haters will never be happy whatever they try to do with the film

bombthreat 9:34pm, October 1, 2009

Looks GREAT guys. I grew up LOVING all these movies and LOVE to see different takes on them. Thanks for doing them right and taking what is good about them and expanding on that...NOT doing what Zombie did to the Halloween films. I actually feel sorry for you having to read some of the above comments from these idiots who hate just for the sake of hating, specifically Englundftw who hates because his fav movie is being remade? wow....

Jimmy Shoes 9:46pm, October 1, 2009

I'm REALLY impressed of what you guys said here. Saying that NOES is the biggest movie you ever worked with, shows to me how deeply involved you are to make it work. As I said on twitter, the little thing that concerns me at first time was Freddy's face not being the old "pizza face" as he had. But now... I think that all people envolved did an AMAZING job trying to be real as possible. I've been watching the teaser for days and days since monday. I'm addicted and blame on you! LOL

ghostofhaddonfield78 9:46pm, October 1, 2009

sounds good to me, im looking forward to this movie alot and the news of a new friday is even better!

THEREALFREDDY 10:01pm, October 1, 2009

For Nightmare, Englund FTW, ttop 33, and Lord SAMHAIN.....You are all a bunch of fucking nobody JERKOFF geeks- get fucking lives! Seriously- do you honestly for one second think anybody gives a fuck what any of you little sperm burpers HAVE TO SAY OR think? lol. You all still live at your moms house and most likely still jerk off to cosmo. I would love to pay each and every one of you so called computer tough guys a visit. You all who bash Brad and dunes are a bunch of wussie little faggots still sucking on daddies niplets! NOW FOR REAL- Brad- I am in absolute love with the NEW FREDDY PLEASE- PLEASE do NOT change anything. The look of the new FREDDY looks REAL- his voice is fucking awesome~! DO NOT CHANGE HIS VOICE! DO NOT CHANGE HIS LOOK! Me and 15 firends watched the teaser in a dark room and were all blown away! We can not wait for April 2010! Platinum Dunes should seriously remake all the horror movies- YOU GUYS ARE THE BEST! I hate the originals now compared to your visions. I am being 100 percent honest as a 37 year old horror movie fan! You guys rock and please keep them coming! THEREALFREDDY!

Spanish39 10:02pm, October 1, 2009

Here is my thing. He is not a burn victim really...he was just burned! Now he is a monster who haunts the dreams of teenagers. He can look however he wants. While I appreciate the realistic view on such a person, I don't think it works for "Freddy." He needs to be FREDDY, not a burn victim.

brooklynpsycho 10:02pm, October 1, 2009

The trailer is amazing. His look and his voice didn't bother me at all. Was hoping to hear Freddy say "Nancy" though, but I'm sure it will be in the official trailer. And as for F13 2, no comedy, and no weed please. The sex is fine, but not overly done like a porn movie. Also, am hoping you would get new writers.

Spanish39 10:02pm, October 1, 2009

I liked the FINAL NIGHTMARE Freddy honestly. Wes made him creepy again.

thegreatone 10:03pm, October 1, 2009

Well said Cohagen. I like the PD remakes and everyone that is crying about them, needs to either 1) Go to film school and become a director, so they can make a better film, or 2) shut the hell up and stop hatin.

THEREALFREDDY 10:08pm, October 1, 2009

I WANT A REAL LOOKING FREDDY WHO WAS BURNED not one that looks like a movie horror make up artist did the work like the old pizza looking one. I love the voice as well- ( the new one ) not the I have to take a shit kind Englund used. GIVE ME A NEW FREDDY PLEASE! WE ALL WANT A NEW FREDDY! AND BRAD YOURS IS IT! Therealfreddy

supafox 11:04pm, October 1, 2009

What makes me laugh so hard is how much in denial "die hard" fans are of how shitty most of the sequels for Friday and yes, even Nightmare (my favorite slasher ever) were. Out of the many installments of both series, only 3 were true horror films. They needed a reboot. And if you want to complain about the new Freddy, bitch to Robert Englund himself since HE turned it down. Anyway, Brad I think you are doing a great job and I trust you to take care of my favorite horror icon. I love JEH and I feel that whatever he decides to do with the role will be wonderful and truly inspired. Thanks!

mav07 11:11pm, October 1, 2009

one thing about the trailer. I think you should keep everything the same except when the parents are yelling his name "kruger". It would be much more of a shock to the audience if they didn't know who this guy was until the reveal of the sweater. Most fans know what the trailer is just from seing jackie, but for everyone else who doesnt know, trust me. take out the "kruger" and the trailer will be 10 times more badass!!

Pat34 11:34pm, October 1, 2009

Hello Brad...It's great to post again on your blog. I have to admit, I haven't posted in a while, not since Friday the 13th's theatrical run. But, I am glad to be back and to lend my thoughts on the NOES trailer. I have to say, this thing looks amazing. Great lookin' stuff. I do like NOES and my boyfriend and I will definately go see it. But my main love is Friday the 13th. I just read on ShockTillYouDrop and Bloody-Disgusting that Warner Bros. and New Line Cinema have OFFICIALLY announced that August 13, 2010 date for Friday the 13th, Part 2!!! I am ecstatic to say the least! I really, really enjoyed the first one (the reboot) and the more I watch it, the more I like it. Now onto the upcoming Part 2. First, I know you have probably heard this more times than you care to imagine but, please, please....PLEASE get more of the iconic, classic Friday the 13th theme music incorporated into this new installment. There isn't anything at all wrong with new music.....it gives something fresh, something new. But it would make the score even greater if the old and new were to be inter-mingled. Even if the old score is re-done and tweaked, great. But atleast we would get some familiarity AND new music. Maybe a score similar to The Final Chapter? What do you think? And maybe more shots of the moon, lightning, wind blowing trees, etc. In the reboot, there wasn't much of the lake shown on screen. Maybe more of that as well? Just a few thoughts for ya'll. I will definately be posting more often especially now that Friday the 13th Part 2 has been announced. I hope some of my thoughts will be helpful with the new installment of our beloved franchise. Derek Mears is great as Jason, one of the best. You, Platinum Dunes has done a terrific job in revitalizing the franchise and I am so very anxious to hear more news. Thanks for reading and good luck with A Nightmare on Elm Street.

Spruce 11:40pm, October 1, 2009

I don't know what peoples problems are with remakes/reboots, sure Nightmare is a classic but for a person now days to go back and watch them for the first time ever i dont think they would be that impressed, for example; When Terminator Salvation came out my i made my girlfriend watch the original Terminator because she had not seen it. Terminator is a classic much like Nightmare but unfortunatly my girlfriend couldnt get passed the cheesy 80's dialog and dress sense, she just kept laughing and never got into the story. It's the same with Wes Cravens original Nightmare, sure some scenes still hold up, like freddy coming through the wall above Nancy's bed or the chick getting slayed in the bedroom in the opening kill, but the other props and prostetics really show there age. I know she would find it hard to like the movie due to its dated low budget effects, but she will watch this up-to-date remake and enjoy everything thats great about freddy and the original movie in a modern film. For me i just love Freddy and Jason, for people who have never seen the movies before, they will become instant fans! and i have to thank platinum dunes for that.

K-HjLL 12:01am, October 2, 2009

You mean part 2, 12 or 13 depending on how you count. And if you include Freddy Vs. Jason as it's own and not in the actual franchise I don't. I hope theres more Vs. Films. But the next one in my eye's is Part 12 or XII.

K-HjLL 12:12am, October 2, 2009

My screenplay talks about Jasons Father and explains everything at 130 pages. Everything you guys have been talking about everything. All of it is Original. I'm finishing proof reading it. Need to get an agentcy to send it to Dunes. I mean it my screenplay has everything that I've wanted to see in the franchise and everything that you guys he]ave all been talking about and want to see. I wrote it in the spring. It's the perfect sequel.

JASON : Friday the 13th

humansoap07 12:42am, October 2, 2009

The Freddy trailer looks great. As for Friday the 13th. #1. Continuity. Make sure to show what really happened at the end. (we all know it was a hallucination) #2. No prequel. I do not wanna see Jason Voorhees age 17 and shit. Who cares? #3. No Jason in snow. I know they are talking about this. Maybe a short clip or 2, but i don’t want to see a winter Jason movie. I wanna see Jason killing counselors at a summer camp. #4. I loved the new score! I know everyone hates it, but i love it. It’s new and original. The old Harry Manfredini score is just a mix of Jaws and Psycho. I mean come on. Listen to it. #5. Keep it real. No supernatural or biblical bullshit. You know like parts 6,7,8,9,X, and VS. No zombie demon regenerating Jason. #6. No elaborate kills. I don’t wanna see Jason kill 9 dudes at once with an orange peal. Hes got a 36″ long machette holstered to his leg for a reason. I wanna see Machette kills out the ass. Fast and deadly. #7. Don’t kill or dismember Jason or his mask like you did Leatherface. I mean… a one armed chainsaw weilding maniac? No way! #8. Put me in the movie. I just wanna walk by or something. I don’t have to be killed by “The Man”. #9. DEREK MEARS and costume must stay the same.

humansoap07 12:46am, October 2, 2009

Freddy should NOT be innocent !!! That's all i have to say.

humansoap07 12:50am, October 2, 2009

Well i guess that's not all i have to say. The look and sound of the new Freddy are both PERFECT !!

K-HjLL 1:40am, October 2, 2009

your missing 4 more #'s. You need 13.

K-HjLL 1:41am, October 2, 2009

You should read my screenplay. Everything you covered.

Krug09 2:38am, October 2, 2009

Hi Brad, its good that Freddy's voice and face keep changing because i want to be surprised when i see it in theaters. the movie looks great. Can't wait to see it. Thanks for the trailer.

francesco 2:41am, October 2, 2009

so MANY THANKS BRAD!!!! HOLY SHÓIT CAN'T WAIT TO HEAR ABOUT F13TH PART 13!

HorrorFan13 2:53am, October 2, 2009

I am really looking forward to this. I thought the trailer was put together pretty nice, sure it will have it's flaws, like how Freddy looks right now without it being the final product. But I am excited and looking forward to seeing this next year.

humansoap07 3:22am, October 2, 2009

#10. Natural tits. #11. Higher body count. I mean look how many kills Roy has. Jason's gotta beat that. #12. Very little to no comedy. Keep it real dark and real scary. And the most important #13. Keep the special effects team. I'm sick of watching a horror move with CGI and shitty effects. Like Freddy VS Jason, where the blood sprays out in a heavy mist that looks like it's coming out of a spray paint can. Please consider these 13 points.

DGo8 5:55am, October 2, 2009

some of you people..shiiit...saying how it should be done let them do there job then go see the film if its shit..then start giving PD shit for it...the look of freddy isnt final..nor is tha voice so just wait to we see the final Freddy and the whole fucking film lol

The-Boogeyman 6:28am, October 2, 2009

So far I'm really impressed with out new Freddy. So far I love everything about him. The voice was fine but I'm excited to see how its perfected. The look so far looks freaky as fuck. I want as less CGI as possible. You guys need to understand how TERRIBLE CGI is for movies. But from what I see so far, I LOVE the movie. I'm not a big fan of remakes but this looks just great. I can't f'n wait. I can't wait to see this new Freddy hacking it up on elm street.

jerryolsson 7:15am, October 2, 2009

If F13th 2 will come, please get Manfredini back for the music. I love his music for the series. Sound like Hitchcock (Psycho) to me. No Jabonslky please.

shredneckjs 8:54am, October 2, 2009

My only real question is why do you guys feel so looked into "reality", burnt vocal cords, realistic burn victim, when he exists in a DREAM environment. Being a slave to what would actually happen in the real world in regards to Freddy's look, is silly considering all the unrealistic things he can do inside the dreams. Just curious.

weresmurf 9:00am, October 2, 2009

"Freddy should not be innocent" I'm sorry but have you actually read the script or seen the movie? Or are you just assuming he is? I mean I have. I know where the movies going with this and it's pretty damn novel. It plays out damn well. Stop assuming. Because all you're doing is looking like a classic bunch of dicks doing it.

topdollar8 9:34am, October 2, 2009

I never found Freddy Scary, however I was still looking forward to a remake for one reason. The dream sequences. This is the filmmaker's opportunity to truly scare the crap out of me through the dreams. I want to see some f*cked up sh*t happen. Freddy I could care less about. The reason I brong this up is because the trailer did not show me any of this. OH MAN. IT'S SNOWING IN MY BEDROOM?? OOOOHHH SCARY! lol

Moviefan 9:34am, October 2, 2009

Im really excited about both of these films! The nightmare trailer looks awesome and I loved Friday the 13th reboot. I said it before and I will say it again I have full faith in Brad and the rest of his crew so bring it on!!!!!!!!! Some of you guys that are so hung up on the 80's films need to realize that its 2009. Yes these films were classic and they will never be truely replaced but be a little more opened minded and give these films a chance.

DGo8 10:27am, October 2, 2009

@topdollar8...your comment about "OH MAN. IT'S SNOWING IN MY BEDROOM?? OOOOHHH SCARY! lol"....na its not very scary but we dont know why its snowing in tha room...so you shouldnt really take tha piss coz we have no idea why it was snowing

weefus 1:18pm, October 2, 2009

i think that what Brad has said to us regarding what Jackie's ideas have been for researching Freddy's voice is a truly AMAZING thing!.. i think it's great that Freddy is gonna be portrayed as i quote 'serious' in this movie!.. i've gotta say that i was growing tired of Englund's version of Freddy & even though i respect the fact that Englund was the original Freddy, i truly feel that Jackie's Freddy (for me) is gonna be 100 times better!.. i dont even mind that Platinum Dunes seem to have changed the story line slightly!.. i truly believe that the new NOES is gonna be ace!.. i just hope that when they release the DVD, i hope that they include better extras than what they did for F13!!.. WELL DONE TO PLATINUM DUNES for creating a trailer that got my attention for the 'right' reasons!.. i cant wait to see the finished Freddy in all his glory!..

HorrorFanatic78 1:50pm, October 2, 2009

First of all, the trailer looks AMAZING!!! Imagery, actors, settings, etc. Good JOB PD. Secondly, would all the re-make compliners get over it. Re-makes are a part of Hollywood. They will always be here. I don't think I've seen any forums insulting Martin Scorsese for his great re-make of Cape Fear with Robert De-Niro in 1991, or complaints because someone rather watch the FLY made in 1958, over the '86 re-make. House of Wax has been made 3 times, the first in '33 known as the mystery of the Wax Museum, re-made in '53 as House of Wax, and again in '05. Re-makes are important. The Classics are Masterpiece, but with modern times, and change, everything else will need to change as well. PD, thank you for bringing back so many great characters from the dead, and giving them new life. Keep it up. PS-NOES re-make haters....Good old Freddy(Robert Englund) supports this movie. Its going to be superb.

TwistedFate_L4 2:52pm, October 2, 2009

1- No Shannon and Swift! 2- NO Steve Jablonsky! Boring! GET Harry Manfredini! (And none of that Jason Goes to hell/ Jason X music) I’m talking about the quality of the first 4 orchestral scores. Stringy! Bassy! With lots of that classic ‘Zinging’ sound! 3- Jason in the shadows until near the end! 4- No ridiculously annoying characters and dialogue! 5- No Comedy! No unfunny wannabe witty one-liners! 6- Atmosphere! Rainstorm! Thunder! Lightning! 7- No Marcus Nispel! 8- No shakey, hand held, lazy, jagged, sloppy camera work! We’d like to see what is actually happening in a movie! 9- Lots of Ki, Ki, Ki, Ma, Ma, Ma! 10- Not every character being obnoxious carbon copies of eachother! Can most of the characters be likeable! 11- No quick sloppy flash editing on par with the shakey camera moves! Ugh! 12- Suspense! 13- One final survivor! Female! With a wicked Chase scene as in Part 3! No male hero! Boring! Women add to the terror and suspense! 14- No scooby doo moments! ‘Oooh Jason’s out there what should the 5 of us do?!’ Not scary when you have a house full of people trying to figure stuff out! 15- Stalking please! 16- Can some of the female victims scream please! 17- Lots of Jump scares! 18- A Body needs to come crashing through a window! I miss those things that make you jump! 19- Can someone discover the dead bodies the way they used to! 20- Jason needs to act like a deranged killer! Not a breathe heavy super hero! 21- Get rid of that underground mine crap! 22- We need a ‘you’re doomed’ type character who warns the victims! 23- Stop trying to get all fancy with story sub plots and get to the point! Stop trying to explain too much! We want to feel the terror again! 24- ONE funny character! ONLY ONE!!!!!!!! And that one should not be too annoying, desperate and obnoxious. 25- Sex and weed are fine when it’s NOT OVER THE TOP! Girl massaging her boobs for attention…Too much. Guy masturbating to a woman in a magazine…LAME. 26- No heroic one liners like, “Go to Hell!”, “Die Bitch!” (not sure when they said those but those are examples of lame one liners lol) 27- Use the characters traits from the first 4 as examples of characterizations. AND DON’T Exxagerate them for a ‘modern audience’. Gimme a break. 28- Most important!!! AGAIN…STEADY THAT DAMN CAMERA YOU LAZY BUNCH OF FILMMAKERS TRYING TO SAVE TIME AND MONEY NOT USE DOLLIES! LOL! The following is to be read sarcastically: Here is what horror directors say to the director of photography these days: “Hey you, hold the camera over your shoulder and film ALL of the action on one swoop! Move it to the right, get her arm in the shot, quick, move it up, quick move it left to get jason’s face, move it down fast, try to get the blood splatter on the wall, quick move it back to the floor for nothing, move it up, down, sideways, great, just like a music video! This is gonna be awesome! No one is going to know what the hell is going on in this scene! It’s gonna be great!” NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The above are things that have been lacking Friday movies for years!

Dunes Fan 3:32pm, October 2, 2009

Protecious 4:34pm, October 2, 2009

Why shouldnt freddy be innocent? Just think, it justifies giving him a great reason to terrorize people when he becomes the nightmare freddy, dont ya think? A child molester/murderer who kills and rapes children and then is killed, only to come back in nightmares is some how rooted for as some kind of hero?...kinda gross

DGo8 5:14pm, October 2, 2009

@Protecious....i said that on FACEBOOK & YouTube...if he was accused of something as terribly as that...it gives him a reason to hate kids/young people...assuming a kid/young person might of accused him of raping them or some shit thats why hes coming back to kill!...BUT if he did do it...and hes acting like that(at the start of the trailer)..hes a pussy lol...but i love what there doing with it really making it there own...maybe if he was accused of doing...he will do it in there dreams & then kill erm?

DGo8 5:15pm, October 2, 2009

coz if he done that...that would make him some evil..sick mofo!

keepin It Reel 5:36pm, October 2, 2009

To Brad Fuller, Michael Bay, Andrew Form, Damian Shannon, and Mark Swift: When creating the characters for the "Friday the 13th" sequel, keep in mind the characters from the first two "Alien" films. Those characters were A.) Likeable B.) Realistic, and C.) Very memorable. I will never be able to forget any of them, nor do I want to. All of these characters had strong, distinct, and for the most part realistic personalisties, and were all loveable in their own right (except for the bastards secretly working for "the company"). Even the Parker, Brett, and Hudson characters from those films were likeable and sympathetic, and they were all total assholes. So there is no excuse for writing characters into your film that are so obviously meant to be liked, yet get no emotional response from the audience except "I wish Jason would just kill this stupid bitch already and get it over with." You guys desperately need to put substance into your characters, let us get to know them, and make us feel for them when they get the machete in the face. I found the charcters in the last film to be so shallow and awful, that I found myself rooting for Jason to kill them all because they were so obnoxious. And the few characters that weren't complete spoiled assholes were so fucking boring that I thought I was watching a soap opera. This is "Friday the 13th" , not "Days of our lives". Add some color and personality (beileivable personality) to these characters for god's sake. I'm tired of bland interchangeable characters who are all the same and who seem to be there for the sole purpose of upping the body count. Body count does not = better movie. While a high body count can be fun, apparently you guys haven't been able to make that work, and I honestly would rather only see five solid characters that I like and have one survive, then to have fifteen characters who I could care less about, and they all get picked off like the stupid cattle they've been written as. Please take these points under serious consideration cause god only knows I'm not the only one who had a problem with the characters in the remake. But I'll give you this, Derek Mears is the greatest Jason I've ever seen in my opinion. I even thought he did a better job that Kane. I know a lot of people say "oh, it's just a guy in a suit and mask, you can just throw anybody in there", but that couldn't be farthur from the truth. When you where a mask, you are reduced to relying on body language to express yourself or "act", so not just anyone can get in the suit and command the same threatening presence as some people can.

My screenplay would save Platinum Dunes millions in write off's. It will increase foreign and domestic sales by 10-20 %. I know this man!......You will get nation wide media and even a spot on Oprah because of the savings and help. Really she like charitable shit. Soccer moms across the country will go to see my screenplay just because of the savings you will get by helping out yourselves and showing dieing kids how to smile........Think of the response you would get for picking out my screenplay a fans out of obscetirty......I have thousands of Ideas for your films.....Why not have as many writers as you can......I left some of the screenplay open for a producers input, and for others, because all films get altered. Why not keep it open for input .......I can write Dunes anything...... Give me anything any I will have a rough draft for you in two weeks.....

maikii 10:50pm, October 2, 2009

It's truly astonishing to see all these kids and/or idiots defending these fucking thieves. They steal ideas that were already perfected with the originals, add some shitty MTV music video imagery, a few brainless, supermodel teenagers, a ton of unnatural sounding profanity, some current technology references, and then sit back as you morons line up in droves to fill their pockets. If these guys are so "passionate" about this stuff, why can't they come up with their own, ORIGINAL movies? Well, I know why; because all the morons out there will continue to defend and lap up this half assed shit forever. No wonder I haven't been to a movie theater in years.

mav07 12:25am, October 3, 2009

maikii, you can argue that the originals were never "perfected" in the first place & there is always room for improvement, especially old horror. & you can also argue Platinum Dunes has released 3 original films. Horsemen, The Unborn & Chainsaw Massacre Beginning, aside from the characters was an original story. and at the end of the day if your still not satisfied with these arguements. ITS A BUSINESS! These films, whether you see them or not, turn a quick profit. Would you work for free? i didnt think so.

K-HjLL 12:42am, October 3, 2009

Something I came up with watching Friday the 13th part 2. Who ever directs should use the same lens and camera tech that Stanley Kubrick used for Barry Lyndon. On all of JASON's POV shots. So you show the audience what he sees with only one eye. In effect the opposite of 3-D. Barry Lyndon looks like a flat painting in a sense

The Black Stale Turd - You should read my screenplay before you judge. Tarantino's Grammar was natroshous.

Gothhead 1:27am, October 3, 2009

Brad, Just to let you know some freinds of mine went to see a sneak preview of zombieland and when the teaser was over some people claped (I'm not joking.) So you guys should be very proud of yourselfs. I think you see that this movie has alot more hype behind it then you even thought at first. F13 is a slasher film, because Jason has no dialoge if you screw some things up You can try to get them right in the next film. If I'm wrong then why have people gone to see so many bad remakes? Freddy is a WAY MORE complex character and is way harder to pull off and if you dont do it right the first time you might not get a 2nd chance because the memory of the first one will stay stuck in peoples heads. Think of it this way... Because Robert England did such a good job some people are having a hard time letting the image of him as Freddy go. Now think about if the Freddy in your film isnt any good... you really might as well not make another one then, because people arent gonna let it go. It's gonna be stuck with them. Loved the trailer man and I cant wait to see the film.

The Black Stallion 2:01am, October 3, 2009

To k-hill: Listen you sick fuck, I don't need to read your stupid screenplay to know it's going to suck. I don't give a fuck about that other guy's grammar and shit, YOURS sucks so I seriously doub't you can write worth a damn. Also, when you talk about your script "teaching dieing kids to smile", I can assume from that that you're a seroiously demented fuck, and that ensures I never read your shit. And why in the fuck are you posting the same shit over and over ?!?! you're a troll trying to spam this site, yet have some fucked up notion that platinum dunes would ever read your script. Have you not bothered to take a look at Brad's twitter page where he's always telling people he can't and won't accept any scripts submitted without representation ? Which by the way, you have none. Not to mention they already rehired da same writers from the last movie so they ain't even considerin' anybody else.

The Black Stallion 2:06am, October 3, 2009

:(Oh, & I payed a little visit to your website, if that's what you wanna call it, and it's a fuckin' mess. Assuming one even gave two shits about reading one of your many sure to be suck-ass scripts, they wouldn't be able to anyway. But you keep on writing your award winnin' storys. Who knows, with any luck one of them might even get picked up by the sci fi channel. =D)

wirrrn 4:06am, October 3, 2009

I've been a major Fredhead since I was born *g*, and I love the look of the NOES teaser- it's good that you've given the character a new look and sound, and didn't just shackle Jackie to Robert's iconic portrayal. The forensically accurate burn makeup looks great, and the voice is perfect- sounds almost Germanic, which is appropriate ("Krueger" being a German name). F13TH II (or VIII!)- Hope there's a little more equal opportunity nudity this time- the first one was neat, but had three naked women and not one naked guy- straight women and gay men like horror too!

bbedwards 5:06am, October 3, 2009

The trailer looked better than I expected... (which really isn't saying much, but this is coming from someone COMPLETELY against the remake/new freddy) ...other than Freddy. Honestly. Freddy's look sucks. I just don't think the 'realistic burn victim' look will work for the entire film. In my mind, ideally, the close-up scene in the trailer should be like Freddy is INTENTIONALLY showing himself in a 'softer', 'more realistic' light for the scene. Like right after the trailer cuts his face will change to a more sinister look. Same goes for the voice. NO WAY it will work like that for the entire film. He HAS TO get all evil at some point. AND...there NEEDS to be SOME sort of wit to the character. I can't imagine how SHITTY and BORING Freddy will be if he looks and talks like that for the whole movie, pops in a dream and kills you without a crack. Why do you think Freddy is so loved? It's not just the creative kills like in a jason film. It's the personality. The sadistic laugh. In the original he RELISHED the fear he put in his victims. The whole 'Freddy as a victim' angle pretty much ruins all of that. What, is he now going to be whining and crying and all emotional and 'human' before he kills? I sure hope not. Not sure how you're gonna pull this one off guys.

bbedwards 5:17am, October 3, 2009

p.s. way to manage to put Freddy in a cave. I just don't get the whole 'realism' thing you seem to be going for here. Or the Freddy is wrongfully accused and whining about it angle. WHY??? FREDDY IS A BAD MOTHERFUCKER THAT TAKES SHIT FROM NO ONE!!!

nxtwwewomenschamp 8:14am, October 3, 2009

Trailer was even better on the big screen! You guys rocks! I can't wait!

francesco 9:28am, October 3, 2009

according to boxofficemojo f13th part 2 will be in 3D!!!!!!!!!!! hey Brad is this the news u was talking about?

horror_punk13 10:07am, October 3, 2009

A quick comment. I liked the trailer for NOES. Also, aside from waht a lot of people have said I've loved your remakes and even The Unborn. Keep up the good work. I support Platinum Dunes to the absolute fullest for two reasons. They keep the horror genre going and for the naysayers... Look at it this way, if people see these remakes and dislike them or get interested in them then they will most likely see the original films or the originals will most likely be re-released with plenty of bonus features much like My Bloody Valentine, Friday the 13th, and The Last House on the Left. Platinum Dunes has remade three of my favorite franchise movies (Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Friday the 13th, and no Nightmare on Elm Street) If they weren't doing a good job then wouldn't they not be able to keep going on? The only thing so far that I've seen that really needs work is, possibly, a new director for Friday the 13th sequel, which I'm pretty sure is being discussed. But, Brad Fuller I completely support you and your movies. I do have to know though two things... One: Since Friday the 13th is technically a reboot and was filmed in Texas and since Platinum Dunes has the rights to Texas Chainsaw Massacre... Will we ever possibly see a Jason vs Leatherface movie? I thought this over a lot. I mean since Friday was a reboot he Jason could technically be wherever you'd like to put him in the U.S. Also, Jason vs Leatherface is a comic that was never made into a film. Two: In the Friday the 13th remake there seemed to be more so of a realistic storyline then many of the other original films had (Not dissing on the original movies, I love and own them all.) My point is, is that I know many people have praised the 21st century for its CGI effects but will Freddy be more realistic? I mean in the other Nightmare movies he could do whatever he wanted to, I mean it is the dreamworld. But, will or are you gonna make Freddy have limitations? I guess I could just wait and see. I did notice in the trailer, which turned out great so shush, that there was a clip of what I think was snow in a bedroom (obviously a dream sequence) so I'm guessing that we'll have a good Freddy because, realistically, he can do whatever he pleases yet again. Yeah, so I'm excited for both of these films. One last thing before I'm done... Friday the 13th part 2, or 13, or 12 (However you see it), will it be in the winter? That's the rumor, which I must say, would be great! I also like the idea someone on here posted about Jason's father Elias making an apperance. Because that has always crossed my mind when watching all of those movies. Anyways, good luck and good job so far!

Making him smile and showing him different ways to have fun and smile enjoying life for the time they have is demented......Sounds like your head is a .little loose . maybe you need to stop trolling and masturbating to message boards and other people twitter pages looking for people to put down......That other guy is Quentin Tarantino his grammar was considered by some to be natrollious.....I not looking for Dunes to pick me up on this board .....I am proof reading and revising my screenplay to have it sent into Dunes for the following sequel through and agency.....Again don't judge before you know who and what you are talking about......And to say someones work sucks and you haven't read a thing.......

K-HjLL 12:25pm, October 3, 2009

The Black Stale Turd- One last thing so you don't have another tantrum and take masturbating to message boards the wrong way.....If you spend time to bitch about someones grammar on a message board you have to much time on your hands.....to much time means your chaffing......so do yourself a favor and the rest of us stop trolling and insulting other people who may only get a minute on the internet everyday....I'm not turning in a thesis or a screenplay to anybody.....Who cares.....

The Black Stallion 1:03pm, October 3, 2009

To kunt-hill: see, I can misspell to. I don't think a bloody gory R-rated horror flick is going to be "teaching dying kids to smile". That statement alone says that you are fucked in the head. Oh, and in case no one told you, you are not Tarantino. And as for you not being a troll well, you seem to spam this board all day long with your three posts at a time, and you basically post the same shit over and over again about how everyone should read your little script, so obviously your desperate. Now I'll let you return to trolling and masturbating to your child porn you sick fuck ! =D)

andy1908 3:17pm, October 3, 2009

quit remaking horror movies. leave the genre alone. you should remake shitty 80's comedies like "weekend at bernies" or "mannequin." JAckie is too short to play freddy. the voice sucks. the face sucks. im sure the score will suck (just like f13, manfredini anyone?). the "actors" will probably suck. freddy was the bastard son of 1000 maniacs. mothered by a nun. and he killed children. end of story. don't give us this fucking plot line that he may have been innocent. dick. i have yet to see one goddamn remake that was good in the last decade. the fuckers at PD and this lame Fuller fucker continue to whore out my childhood to make a few bucks. if i saw you in the streets i'd spit in your faces.

Horror_punk13, the whole Jason VS Leatherface would be retarded. Leatherface would be like 60 - 70 years old. Jason would destroy him. 5 min movie will not sell tickets. Plus VS movies are retarded. Just look at Freddy VS Jason.

All I want to see in the title is Friday the 13th, Part 2. That's it. I know, I know there are people who think of this as continuing the old franchise. I'm happy for you. But, IMO, these new Friday the 13th films are rebooting, restarting, whatever....they are starting all anew. That's how I like to see it and that's basically what they are, NEW, fresh starts. It just makes more sense, to me atleast, to start fresh. To me, starting them anew, makes it seem a little more realistic. I know, people will say, "Well how realistic is this or that..." blah, blah, blah. But the original franchise had it's run. It was a wonderful time in the '80's. I was there. I know. I loved them and still do. And then JGTH, Jason X and FvsJ (the latter of which never should have seen the light of day) were like just "easy money quickies". But hey, that's me, that's how I see it anyway. Friday the 13th (2009) and Friday the 13th, Part 2 (2010) I welcome with open arms. I love the franchise and am very excited for this new series of films. __________________

Okay! I am so glad to hear that is the final look and voice for Freddy. Call me conventional but I believe Freddy should look like Freddy you just can't fuck with that, just like Jason and Michael Meyers. Other than the trailer looks great. I was always terrified of Freddy ans was hoping to be again when I watched the trailer, but when I saw him I laughed and though it must be a joke. Good to see that it just might be. Friday was great and all, only minor improvements are needed in my opinion and that is make the kills inventive and gruesome and I would like to see more longer stalk sequences. Love the whole smart Jason it really upped the surprise factor for me. I must say I enjoyed almost all of your films excluding The Unborn which I never could finish watching. I can understand the hate as that comes with the territory of remaking films vs making an original one. Call me crazy but I would love to see one final Texas Chainsaw Massacre sequel.

Teach dying kids to smile? Whats wrong with that. It's had for Cancer patients to smile. Sometimes they have to be taught again. I never said I was Tarantino. Only that he, Sam Peckinpah and I share the same gammar writing skills when we shoot from the hip and write what comes to mind...You should look at Peckinpahs old writings. Unreadable... You watch both of their films.....Yet they have the same grammar skills.....But I'm a horrible writer because of a few mispelled words......

As for editors, they cut together ther movie you dumbfuck, they don't correst your retarded fucking grammar mistakes. I don't even know that much about films, but even I knew that. And you call yourself a fuckin' writer ? Ha ! And as for dying kids needeing to be taught to smile, leave that to Disney. A violent, bloody, sex filled horror movie is the last thing a dying kid (or any KID for that matter) needs to see, and it sure as hell won't make them smile. What are you trying to do, scar a young child right before they die ? What kind of a fucked up asshole are you ?

Pat34 4:08am, October 4, 2009

Brad....how about having Adrienne King in the sequel....atleast a cameo? She has expressed interest in doing so from when the '09 reboot was coming out. That would be sweet to have some Friday the 13th alumni show up in some capacity in the new film. Just a nice homage to the original franchise and to the actors/actresses who still show their love for the fans and the Friday the 13th film's that made them famous. I just hope that Friday the 13th, Part 2 is a dark film in tone as well as picture...much like The Final Chapter. The music, atmosphere, everything in The Final Chapter is brilliant...aside from the constant...F this and F that every 5 seconds. But just the total atmosphere is so dark and moody. Terrific movie. I wish you and the Platinum Dunes gang nothing but good luck with ANOES and F13th Part 2. As always, I look forward to seeing and hearing more news as the days and weeks go by. Thank you for continuing to bring our favorite horror icons to the big screen and into our homes with Blu-ray. :)

screenscribe 9:03am, October 4, 2009

I haven't read every comment here so I'm not sure if this has been addressed or not. But, as a writer, I am aware of how to reach your audience. Making Freddy look ike a real burn victim is not the way to go. Mainly because burn victims are not monsters. You do not feel horror from them. You are empathetic. Feelings range from sadness to pity. Freddy MUST be taken to the next level. IF you feel a connection to your villain/monster then you fail at a good horror movie.

K-hill and black stallion, no offence to either of you, but is this the ideal place to have a long drawn out argument or whatever it is, email each other lol. I'm reading peoples comments on the new elm street film and all i keep seeing is stuff about dying kids etc. By the way, screenscribe, ure point about empathy for a burn victim, well i must say i find it disturbing when i first see someone with bad burns, i can't help it, then maybe sympthetic towards them. But freddy is gonna be one evil twisted fucker so i really dont think we are gonna cry for him. If a guy ruunning around boiler rooms wearing kinves for fingers trying to kill kids with a horribly charred face isnt a monster, then what is ?

K-HjLL 1:33am, October 5, 2009

Idea I wrote into my Friday the 13th screenplay. Have all the actors who played Jason in the franchise play characters in my story. Ted White the rancher/farmer. Kane Hodder as Dan the head maintenance guy. Ari Lehman as Wes Cunningham. Warrington Gillette as a cop. Richard Brooker the sherriff or White. Dick Wieland as the paramedic. Tom Morga and C.J. Graham as deputies. They all get their chance with Jason. The only one that lives, is the only Jason not to get killed at the end of a Friday film. Just think Jason taking on Jason. Having them as characters also makes Jason seem bigger on screen. It's not Jason killing some dumb jock strap teen. Which I loved, it was corny iconic. "Stupendous" like a mirror of VI in the RV. Jason taking on some adults that can handle themselves like in my 130 page screenplay.

Spruce 4:43am, October 5, 2009

Do you really think Kane Hodder would want to be in a Friday the 13th movie not playing Jason? Wasn't he pretty pissed he didn't get the part in Freddy vs. Jason?

IHateYourRemakes 10:53pm, October 5, 2009

The original movie was interesting because you didn't know what was going on until you find out who Freddy was. You took away all the mystery about Freddy, spoiled the story even in the trailer and turned this fascinating masterpiece into an action movie. Shame on you. You are a really bad storyteller, therefore a really bad filmmaker.

zigystardust83 11:18pm, October 5, 2009

Alright i have to say i love the trailer, i'm glad you guys took your time with it. will there be another trailer? anyways it was kinda creepy but the real test is whether or not i get scared or feel like i'm really there in the movie with the victims. So it looks cool but the important part is how much i am scared when i see the movie. that's what counts

Spruce 12:33am, October 6, 2009

I just Hope Freddy helps the Dunes boys crack the $100 million mark domestically because for some reason a movie no matter how good or bad it may be always seems to get more cred when it cracks that milestone.

DGo8 6:56am, October 6, 2009

of course Nightmare On Elm Street will crack 1 mill...just the name alone is enough to get peoples attention

K-HjLL 9:33am, October 6, 2009

how can one film be two chapters in two franchises. Vs. Is a franchise to itself. You should make a sequel to it.

freddysdreams 1:07pm, October 6, 2009

Great Teaser, was really apprehensive at first when the nightmare on elm street remake was announced, but now i feel as if it is gonna be a pretty kick ass movie. Jackie is gonna be brill as freddy and bring out a new sinister freddy. I can't wait to see his final face, as the face of Freddy Krueger will define the movie and not the movie itself.

DGo8 4:27pm, October 6, 2009

to be honest i think the voice matters more...its gotta be Evil & Scary!

K-HjLL 8:15pm, October 6, 2009

Today at work I came up with a JASON Vs. Leatherface concept. I also wrote an entire outline for the film.

crystallakehiker09 9:20pm, October 6, 2009

NOES is the most important movie you've made? WTF. If the Friday sequel not on the top of your list, maybe you should pass the sequel off to somebody else. Please.

crystallakehiker09 9:25pm, October 6, 2009

I don't mean to sound like a jerk. I like your work. But the Friday sequel should be a priority. I'd be surprised if NOES outsells your Friday reboot. I just can't see how you can say NOES is more important than Friday, or even Amityville for that matter. I'm guessing its for promotional/box office expediency, but its not right, and certainly doesn't add to your credibility with the Friday crowd.

crystallakehiker09 9:26pm, October 6, 2009

Oh, and for not liking NOES that much, the trailer looks good. I think I'm going to see it.

Banquer 11:41pm, October 6, 2009

The NOES trailer looks pretty good. For Friday the !3th Part 2, please make it like Part 4. It was written by Barney Cohen, who wrote after school kid specials. Director Zito chose him specifically for not having a horror background. He just told him to write the kids as you would in one of your after school specials, and Zito and Savini would take care of the kills. This is why Part 4 is the best and most brutal. The kills themselves and Savini's gore make them brutal, but most importantly It is Cohen's good characterizations of the kids which greatly enhance the brutality of the kills. It is because we get involved with them more and actually care when they die. Especially Barbara Howard's character: just after she loses her virginity and thinks she is in love, and then the way she keeps screaming no, no, no right before she dies. That reminds me when it comes to sex, include it along with nudity just like the originals, but do not make it like softcore porn as is in the new one. The sex should make you realize these kids are falling in love and that their lives are just starting out. As for Jason in the snow, it would be cool to see a sequence, possibly the opening kill, in snow. That is it however. Snow throughout the whole movie would kill the vibe. If not using Tommy Jarvis character for this one, definately introduce him for the next one. Sequel wise do not go past 4 like the originals were supposed to. An idea for the last one would be to have the survivors from the previous entries( Clay from part1 and survivors from part 2 and 3 to come back and do battle with him in part 4 along with Tommy Jarvis. I also think the look of Jason should be like part 3 and 4. Have many more ideas and would love to talk to your team about them.

DGo8 6:00am, October 7, 2009

I think he means its tha most important film because Freddy is a icon in many wqays everyone knows Freddy...& this film more than all of tha rest they done probly carrys the most pressure...just because on the name alone...i mean who hasnt heard of A Nightmare On Elm Street....even people who aint watched still know who what NOES is...& who Freddy is...& they this has an up hill battle..its had one from the start...soon as they said no Robert...people freaked out making alot of people dislike the film from that point...&everyone on here bitchin about 24/7....and yerr i kno Friday The 13TH had people bitchin on it..& yerr Jason is up there with Freddy probly him and Freddy are the most well known in the Horror genre today...but...this is my opinion...People are wanting A Nightmare On Elm Street..to be something special..like peoples expectations are going to be so much higher than Friday was. Im not saying Friday isnt as good as NOES...but i mean Freddy is the king of horror nobody is bigger then Freddy everyone knows who he is...so i think dats why he said its most important....probly get alota shit for dis comment but its my opinion.

ODM 10:14pm, October 7, 2009

hey brad! i for one am REALLy excited to see the rebirth of ANOES and thought the trailer to be very cool indeed. i will be honest and say i was a little underwhelmed by freddy's voice, it sounded too "normal". i understand you probably do not want a hokey vocal effect on the final voice, but i will admit there is something so much more scary/demonic about a voice that is processed slightly, make it deeper in pitch and formant as it will make it sound so much more evil, fitting of a character as evil and demonic as freddy. great work though guys. i look forward to seeing and hearing more,

Pat34 3:13am, October 8, 2009

Hello Brad, I read on ShockTillYouDrop about Platinum Dunes being under the Paramount banner now. Could you explain what, if any, effect this will have on Friday the 13th, Part 2? And any future sequels? Also, there is already speculation in some forums that Derek Mears is going to be in 'Predators'....and that his involvement will interfere with him playing Jason in 'Part 2'. Is this true? I know you recently stated that Derek will always be Jason if Platinum Dunes is the one making a 'Friday the 13th' film. Derek is amazing. I love his portrayal of Jason in the reboot and hope he will continue to play Jason Voorhees. on to another topic....the music.I know you have heard this countless times and are probably sick and tired of hearing it but.....in the sequel, PLEASE have more of a classic sounding score. Please have the 'Ki Ki Ki Ma Ma Ma' more prevalant and noticeable. And the instrumental music is important as well. The score for The Final Chapter is/was great. Very atmospheric, eerie, etc. That's what we need in the sequel. Please take this into serious consideration for us fans. Thank you again for reading our comments Brad and I hope I have help contribute a tidbit in your, Platinum Dunes, decisions concerning Friday the 13th, Part 2. Hope to hear more F13th news soon.

Spruce 1:14am, October 9, 2009

Whats the go with PD selling off Texas Chainsaw Massacre? And plans to make another sequel in 3D just sounds stupid, TCM does't fit the mould of a 3d movie, its dirty, gritty, relenless horror. 3D should be just left for less serious, more fun, inventive horror movies like final destination, friday the 13th or scream.

Dunes Fan 3:31am, October 9, 2009

If u guy's at Platinum Dunes want to make a movie that would scare the F*** out of people, start talking about a remake for "THE EXORCIST", just more modern day and ALOT (and i stress the word alot) more terrifying. and lets see what's another good movie, how about "THE DEEP END OF THE OCEAN" that movie is about a child that has been obdusted and returns 10 yrs later, it's a drama/thriller, but u guy's could put a horror spin on it, like i mean there are hundreds of millions of chilrden beeing obducted each day, maybe u guy's could make it that the kid never comes back or something make it more dark and gruesome (i have a sick mind for this i love horror movies, and i love coming up with mest up stories..lol.)...movieS that say "BASED/INSPIRED BY A TRUE STORY" r more likely to scare the audience than fiction, just keep that in mind....i'm done i have nothing else to say.

Dunes Fan 3:40am, October 9, 2009

look at "THE HITCHER" that could easily happen, "THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE" inspired by Ed Gein (sick man by the way), "THE AMITYVILLE HORROR" ok now that one is a little hard to believe, look at the movie cover it says "WHAT HAPPENED OVER THE NEXT 28 DAYS HAS NEVER BEEN EXPLAINED" y's that.

mww0614 6:10pm, October 9, 2009

Can we please get back to a Nightmare on Elm Street? This blog is about NOES, not F13 at the moment...

mww0614 6:12pm, October 9, 2009

I think that Jackie's voice so far sound a lot like Robert's voice in Freddy v. Jason. Maybe not the same tone, but the same "lisp." The Freddy from that movie had more fucked up teeth than the others, which gave him the lisp. I don't see any problem with the voice OR the make up. After 25 years, it IS time for a change. This change is good, unlike the "change" we got in Washington DC

***BIG ANNOUNCEMENT*** Howdy folks. Just wanted to let everyone know that the wait is almost over. The ELM STREET Reboot will be in theaters on 12-4-2009. And oh yea: I'm not trying to be a smarty pants, but unless those guys who have their names listed as EXECUTIVE PRODUCERS(Robert Shaye, Michael Lynne, Mike Drake) can prove they are a part of WARNER BROTHRES/NEW LINE CINEMA, then they really need to get their names off of our movie by the time it hits theaters. I've got a contract with Jackie Earle Haley that says me and him are a team, and I'm to get an EXECUTIVE PRODUCER credit on any movie he appears in. Key word: ANY!!! SOMEBODY REALLY NEEDS TO TELL TOBY AT NEW LINE TO QUIT PLAYING FAVORITES. I'm trying to work things out with him...really I am!Well...sorry if I've stepping on anyone's toes at WB for bringing up these details, but the fact is that those guys(Shaye, Lynne, Drake) do not deserve credit for this flick. TOBY EMMERICH deserves credit, BRAD FULLER deserves credit, but Shaye, Lynne, Drake...they simply do not deserve credit for the ELM STREET REBOOT, and they're crazy to think they do. PS: Speaking of credit, I hope when this movie breaks box office records, people don't give too much credit to the controversy surrounding it, or to me and Jackie Earle for acting so slick. I really think that all credit should go to KATIE CASSIDY. Her performance is so genuine/pure that it makes all the difference. Katie really gave her heart to the role of Kris, and it shows. I don't know her personally, but I can just tell that she's going to be not only a huge movie star, but also a wonderful role model. What can I say-KATIE CASSIDY RULES!!! Well, I guess I've said enough ya'll. If you want to read more, just click on my blogs at WWW.Myspace.Com/OldSchoolCreek and remember: 12-4-2009/FREDDY IS COMING

Just a thought. Oh and, what about a PS3 game version of Friday the 13th? It would be really cool if we had a game on the PS3 with the way CGI is nowadays, there could be alot of awesome things done in a game version. Just my 2 cents. :) Thanks Brad.

My Friday the 13th screenplay has elements from the NES Video game.

According to Variety : Twisted Pictures - who make the Saw movies - have bought the rights to the Texas Chainsaw Massacre franchise. I dont beleive they gonna take TCM from Platinum Dunes. OMG

Platinum Dunes Fan! 10:55pm, October 12, 2009

I loved it! Makes it so much harder to wait! Which brings up a good question. When are you going to release more of your films on Blu-Ray? I own the only three released and would love to see The Amityville Horror, TCM: The Beginning and The Hitcher in high definition. Awesome job on the trailer! As always

Platinum Dunes Fan! 11:05pm, October 12, 2009

Oh... and here's a remake worthy of bashing, though I won't directly bash it. "The Last House on the Left," all I can say is wow. Keep up the quality Platinum Dunes and don't ravish in pure psychological trauma... I love horror, but some films go too far

Dunes Fan 11:25pm, October 12, 2009

To "Platinum Dunes Fan!": The Hitcher came out on Blu-Ray on the 6th, just to let you know.

Platinum Dunes Fan! 11:50pm, October 12, 2009

to Dunes Fan: Much appreciated, looks like I'm buyin' it. Thanks

zigystardust83 1:06am, October 15, 2009

MMM this is to dunes fan.. I like the idea of remaking the exorcist but, as we all know the recent exorcist movie did not or never could live up to the first. The exorcist is very nostalgic in the sense that for it's time it really pushed the envelope, and you can still feel that raw energy from it even if you weren't living in that period of time. It wasn't just some childish horror movie, the acting was classic. I don't think it should be remade unless its directed by someone very experienced and the casting has to be very great. the exorcist is like the holy grail of horror movies and it would take a set of balls to say hey i want to remake that and do justice to the original. i mean look at tim burton's willy wonka remake, i was excited for that movie and was severely disappointed. I understood that burton wanted to capture more of the authors vision but the original was just better and it really transports you back to that period of filmmaking.

bes2534 1:30am, October 15, 2009

Agreed. PLEASE STOP WITH THE COMEDY!!! I have to say, I cannot wait to see the revision of NOES though. Growing up as a kid, I was terrified of these films. Now that I'm in my mid 20's, I look back at some of the Nightmares and realize that they were just plain silly (I still think the original was a classic though!). What we need now is a Nightmare that is more like an actual "nightmare"!! I love horror movies, but its so dissapointing to see that a lot of them seem to gravitate more towards comedy and corniness rather than trying to accomplish what the film was made for in the first place...TO SCARE US!! The revision of Friday the 13th was decent...I felt that the first 20 minutes or so of the movie was perfect. It kept me on the edge of my seat and I didn't know what to expect...and it felt a classic (but updated) Friday the 13th. The rest of the movie was ok, but some of it started to get a little too corny and predictable for my liking. Also, sometimes horror movies these days go a little too over the top with some kills. Don't get me wrong, I love to see a good kill in horror flicks...but make it more believable and scary. I don't want to laugh when I see a character get slaughtered! So lets recap: All in all, I'm just hoping that when I leave the theaters after seeing the new Nightmare, I want to be afraid to go to sleep that night!

bes2534 1:44am, October 15, 2009

Pat34, a new Friday the 13th game for PS3 would be awesome!! I like that idea. I have the original for NES. We could use an update (hopefully without the zombies haha). Even if it wasn't the most popular game, I'd still buy it!

jetgyp211 5:29am, October 15, 2009

I think these punks deleted my post. It's not here anymore. Does it bug you, Brad, that I'm spreading the truth about the fact that all you guys are out for is the money? Try remaking a horror flick that isn't a big name since you're all die-hard horror fans I'm assuming. Right? Or is it just a coincidence all of these remakes happen to be big names, and that Michael Bay is involved to make profit for himself alongside the guarentee that big names already made big by the original artist will make bank? To quote andy1908 (I believe) and restate what I'd said, I'm going to make it to hollywood (if schmucks like you can) and spit in your faces. I have no respect for any of you or the crap you produce. I can't wait for the day when you all are nothing but a reminder of how bad movies can be, whenever the nightmare ends.

mww0614 10:18am, October 15, 2009

WHY ELSE WOULD YOU BE MAKING A MOVIE, I THINK THE POINT IS TO MAKE MONEY AT IT. "HOLLYWOOD" IS A BUSINESS. I don't think that anyone out there would make this movie to LOSE money.... Come on .....

bes2534 2:03pm, October 15, 2009

By the way, nice post TwistedFate_L4!! I want to stab myself in the eye when I hear those corny one-liners. I also have to agree with some of the stuff being too over the top. Also, let's put an end to the stereotypical characters. No more overly confident and stubborn jock, no more ditzy blonde cheerleader, no more goofy clumbsy nerd. The characters need more depth and raw emotion. I'd like to see people that seem real and we can relate with, I felt that the characters in the reboot of Friday were too stereotypical and "perfect". For example, I thought the casting was pretty good for the first Texas Chainsaw remake.

hawaiiwarriors1 4:06pm, October 15, 2009

To:Platinum dunes, Please Sell the rights(if you guys have the rights)to Liongates or Twisted Pictures.Only because you Dweebs don't know how to make a Good horror film and you guys could care less what us fans want..we're 10 months away from the release date..and you guys didn't find a Director, but you guys kept the them 3 monkey's Swift/shannon/jablonsky..PLEASE DO US ALL A FAVOR AND LET ANOTHER COMPANY PICK UP THIS MOVIE..

Platinum Dunes Fan! 10:57pm, October 15, 2009

Here's an idea... instead of complaining, consider doing something more constructive. Keep your mouth shut... actually who really sways anything with an opinion anyway? Unless there's a valid point backing the comment. I know I like movies in general, so to impose my own personal opinions as a blatant fact, doesn't make much sense. So if you don't like them then by all means step up (produce something) and simply shut up.

hawaiiwarriors1 11:35pm, October 15, 2009

Ha!..another Nut hugger...

hawaiiwarriors1 11:44pm, October 15, 2009

Platinum Dunes Fan! 1:03am, October 16, 2009

No harm, no foul... I apologize too, I was only attempting to change the tone of these conversations. It's too easy to force opinions when writing. Opinions are great, depending on how you present them. If you want something to change, don't force it. Take care hawaii...

Platinum Dunes Fan! 1:56am, October 16, 2009

If I were to pick a movie that scared me the most while growing up, I would say it was the original "Child's Play." I was still terrified a couple years later. In fact, if I recall, I have still only seen the original movie once. I think I was 5 years old, maybe 6. If a remake wasn't already slated for a 2010 release, I would say you should give it a shot Platinum Dunes. Also "Candyman" was a great horror movie too. Just a couple thoughts.

hawaiiwarriors1 4:09am, October 16, 2009

the original nightmare on elm street and evil dead 1 gave me the creeps

K-HjLL 12:18am, October 27, 2009

I finished proof reading JASON at 130 pages. Registration Number # 1389328

K-HjLL 9:22pm, October 29, 2009

My Friday the 13th treatment explains what happens to Alice at the beginning of part 2 The time from the end of part 2 and the beginning of part 3. And what happens to Paul. Plus it explains what could have happened from ending in 8 to the beginning of 9. And in some respects X. Even explains how he came back in the beginning of Freddy Vs. Jason. and how he just shows up in Friday the 13th (2009) If you watch the 1st film I explain what happened to the first counselors in the 50's . What happened to Annie the hitch hiker . Why Ned’s body was stuff on the top bunk in the famous Bacon scene and how he was killed. And why JASON had all of the leeches on his face at the end of the 1st film. Plus Jason has died and came back from the dead in every film except 5 well I guess he comes back from the dead. So Jason is the undead or dead. In all the films they talk about JASON drowning and they never found the body. I explain what happened. Which I can always change into another direction.

mww0614 4:54pm, October 30, 2009

WONDER WHEN WE ARE GOING TO GET ANOTHER NOES TRAILER?????

DGo8 10:39am, October 31, 2009

My guess is near end of the year then 2010 we'r b getting alota info about this!

keepin It Reel 3:13pm, October 31, 2009

To K-HjLL: Jason didn't just "show up" in 'Friday the 13th' (2009). That film was a REBOOT. That would make it the first movie. It has absolutely nothing to do with the original series or continuity. They've started over from scratch as if those films never happened. I don't know why so many people still don't understand that.

K-HjLL 10:08pm, October 31, 2009

Keepin It Reel - If that is the case my screenplay would be perfect. All of what I wrote would make the perfect Sequel to the Reboot. Mine ties up loose ends in the past films. For the Fans. The way that I wrote the screenplay everything is from scratch and presented as the Origins of JASON. The Black Stallion- I'm Sorry man. I'm always fucked up. I didn't read a book until I was in Seventh Grade. All Comics. In fact they taught me how to read. I'm the worst speller in the world. But it's because I got High.

K-HjLL 10:09pm, October 31, 2009

Call it a grammar complex. That great white Shark kind.

K-HjLL 12:54am, November 1, 2009

I use to work in a grave yards in high school and I also made Tombstones.

K-HjLL 1:06am, November 1, 2009

I have 5 - 10 more scenes I could add. I understand everything I have wrote would get changed or edited by a writer, director, and producer.Like King says, " Don't be above a good edit." I just wrote what vision I had of A Friday the 13th. And I rebooted a franchise sequel in a sense and based it on my own experiences like Victor Miller did. When I wrote it I had a million questions I wanted to ask (producer/Writer) to help with the direction of the screenplay. Or I wanted some input.

megalodonbite 7:16pm, November 2, 2009

Okay, Brad. I haven't been on here in quite a while but when I have you have probably witnessed me defending your remakes since I loved what you did with TCM Beginning and I have been looking forward to this film for a long time. But today I read something that DEEPLY disturbed me. I read a review of your first test screening of the new NOES by Skinpeeler. Now don't get me wrong, I am not a moron and I can certainly tell a publicity stunt when I see one. However I am particularly disturbed with this comment: "I don't recall seeing much hard core 'guro' besides slashes, blood and Freddy's hand suddenly appearing through someone's chest, possibly leaving open the possibility of a PG-13 rating?" Please Brad tell me this is bullshit. I'm going to post this on your next update in case you don't see it here after over 200 posts. The reason people enjoy what platinum dunes has done in the past (despite some mistakes) is that you didn't hold back. To remake a film like NOES with fucking PG-13 type blood is an absolute disgrace. But I'm going to bite my tongue and hope this isn't true. Please Brad, tell me I'm fucking delusional and let this not be the case. Please.

Spruce 6:01am, November 3, 2009

I read that review as well, but I'm not that worried, I have faith in PD that this movie will be an R rating. I cannot for the life of me see them making NOES PG. God help them if they do, this is the biggest movie PD has & will make for a long time, this is the most iconic horror character left to re-imortalize of film. If they fuck this up i predict they'll go under. BUT THEY WON'T! they do a great job and this movie will be their biggest success to date!

Spruce 6:10am, November 3, 2009

By the way just found out Jennifers Body will not be screened for Australian audiences! if studios are gonna stop us from watching horror movies due to poor showings in the states then you can forget about me going to the movies at all! We the Australian audience deserve the right to make up our own opinion about films. It's a massive disrespect to deprive us of a movie going experience whether good or bad (Let us paying customers decide) just because it doesn't perform well in one country. We have missed out on Halloween II, now Jennifer's Body, its bad enough we have to wait up to 2 months after domestic U.S release to see most films, now we have to wait till DVD! what next, not even on DVD! And you wonder why people pirate movies!

Slasher17 12:04pm, November 3, 2009

First of all, F13 remake was great, but the kills were not creative enough. I just want to ask you this: PLEASE! Don't do F13-p2 in 3D!If you want it to be successful, do it old-fashioned with lots of creative kills with lots of blood and guts! No 3D, no CGI! Please don't be like all the other greedy companies who only make pg-13 3D movies!

megalodonbite 4:17pm, November 3, 2009

Just because it gets an "R" rating doesn't mean there will be changes in the amount of blood/gore factor. This is an extremely significant issue. Am I alone here?

KANDYKAIN 1:22am, November 4, 2009

Please do plenty of reshoots to get ANOES done right, add plenty of blood and gore otherwise this remake will bomb at the box office. If it's going to be rated, make it hardcore

K-HjLL 12:33am, November 5, 2009

Wish I could watch ANOES I could give PD thousands of Ideas.

DGo8 1:19pm, November 5, 2009

I agree K-Hjll so could i. And with this whole theres not much gore thing...i'll cry if its as shitty as that review makes it sound...if PD fuck this film up...then i dont think they will recover Nightmare On Elm Street is to BIG and ICONIC to fuck up...i dont beleave 4 on moment this will be PG-13 thats just stupid...it HAS to be 18..HAS to be... some one give me tha link to tha Review that makes NOES sound like total shit please :)

DGo8 1:37pm, November 5, 2009

I found tha review... its ok its ok lol....its not gonna be PG-13 people it cant happen if it ever did..which it wont..i'd point tha figure at Warner. Coz they know wot freddy was before like how popula he was..they may be trying to get some money off selling freddy stuff?...but im sure there be alota freddy stuff when this films out...UPDATE THIS SITE BRAD pleases lol

serpenti mulaj 8:37pm, November 5, 2009

I hate this Freddy Krueger, I want Robert Englud, this sucks

DGo8 7:31am, November 6, 2009

Yepp Brads cleared it up..its not PG13..we all knew that..and there is some Grahpic kills. And to tha above shut tha fu*k up its a new take on Freddy...new take on him for a new generation...i still like old freddy...until he becomes a dick and trys 2 be funny.

K-HjLL 10:09pm, November 7, 2009

I'm curious how the Set for the House looks. Or the layout of the house. I thought the house in the original was a key character for the set up of the whole franchise.

megalodonbite 6:40pm, November 8, 2009

Just because its still rated R, doesn't necessarily mean the gore factor will be fixed. There are plenty of R rated horror films with ZERO gore and graphic kills. I'm still really worried. I realize its just a review from one individual but he got his opinions from somewhere. It doesn't seem as if they simply fell from the sky. Brad, can you give us some more insight on this please so we can all sleep better at night?? Thanks!

horrormasters 5:24pm, November 9, 2009

Come on PD, give us another 'Chainsaw'! I'm dying, I love Leatherface.

DGo8 5:01am, November 10, 2009

@megalodonbite...Brad did say there some graphic kills in tha film..but for he's sake and nightmare on elm street..freddy as a whole there better be some hardcore gore not stupid doe when there get stabed and blood shots out like its coming from a water pistol. Im worried like you i actully am..coz it will have alot of hype near release ALOT of haters..ALOT of die hard fans like who had to wait months just to see something new and we tha people who been supporting brad n tha team for along time...and if theres not alota good kills...or if its anythink like what was in tha review(Just slashs and hes hand coming through peoples chests)..then PD are gonna get it...but if its like that..like toned down and stuff...i'd blame warner..coz they know what happend with the old nightmare on elm streets they made so much money of freddy through toys..games the lot..but i cant see it being on tha same level with this freddy. But then again kids love horror so if they do have toys and stuff for this freddy it will sell but not like old freddy. And @Horrormasters...The makers of saw own the rights to 'Chainsaw' now

megalodonbite 11:13pm, November 10, 2009

Alright, let me break it down for real. This is why I RELY on Platinum Dunes; when I first walked into the theater to see TCM Beginning, I'll admit that I was totally skeptical. I thought, you have to be kidding me? What is this...another addition to what I've already seen? Boy was I WRONG. 5 minutes into it I get to see a guy hit in the head with a hammer, and the difference was I actually saw it HIT his head. The camera never moved. It kept getting better from there. Chainsaws sawing through flesh, NEVER once was anything "implied." That's what irritated me about horror films (hostel etc) everything is IMPLIED. I want to see it! It only got better from there when we get to see someones face get carved off and the a chainsaw splitting someone open in the air in a movie theater! When was the last time you saw that?? This proves that Platinum Dunes can do it and with a movie like NOES they better make the same thing happen. The review complained about the lack of naked women, I want to walk into this film and see Freddy; 1. Scary and brutal (not funny, but it seems as if they accomplished that part) 2. Slicing through his victims with bloodshed, using his knives the sick way that they should be used. Slicing and dicing his victims into shreds. 3. The violence cannot be "implied" and the camera looks the other direction...I want to see it no matter how sick it makes others. If people walk out of this movie, you get a 10. Who gives a shit anyway, they already paid their money. My point is that they have done it once before. All I ask is that they do it again and it is mandatory this time. Give me the terror of Freddy and the blood of Braveheart. Only then will you prove this the greatest remake of all times.

DGo8 6:08am, November 11, 2009

Yepp i agree i will be so pissed off if they like turn the camera away when he goes in for tha final kill so u dont see tha blades go in to tha people..they need to make this film bloody...but not tha stupid blood from FvJ(water pistol blood) and make him so dark and twisted!! This will be there biggest film ever tha one with the most hype and hope behind..hope meaning people so badly want this to be a good film and at the sametime people want it to fall more then any other film they've made so they have to prove to them people that there take on freddy..is a good one. And isit me or does anyone else want some sort of update i know there hard at work finishing off nightmare and stuff but it would be nice :)

K-HjLL 9:59pm, November 13, 2009

Happy Friday the 13th to all.

DGo8 4:15pm, November 17, 2009

megalodonbite 5:27pm, November 17, 2009

DGo8- you'd figure we'd at least get an update in response to the latest terrible review. If its all B.S. which I DO hope it is, then at least defend the film and let us fans know. Some of us are really worried :( I realize Brad spends a lot of time doing this already, but this is code red!

DGo8 6:18pm, November 17, 2009

@MEGALONDONBITE he said its already B.S..when i read it...i nearly had heart attack..nightmare..PG-13..NO GOOD KILLS i was like WTF!..but he did say no way will it be PG-13 and there is Graphic killz in tha film..so least you can put ya mind at rest lol..i was so happy when he said it was B.S. But yerr i was hoping for some sort of update to the site but i understand atm there cutting NOES and working on Friday Tha 13th so i guess its a busy time over at P.D.

Dear Bradley: I know I said I wouldn't post in here anymore, but since I've deleted all of my MySpace blogs that were related to my earlier postings, I was wondering if you could delete my account. Or better yet. Don't. Just leave everything as is and move on to other movies. I'm not sure how you can let people know that WARNER BROTHERS has scrapped the ELM STREET REBOOT without making somebody feel stupid...so hey, just don't say anything. Seriously Brad, I think you're a classy guy, and even though I'm disappointed that you and Bay couldn't help me out with "The Gospel Girl Movie", I'm not mad. So hey... take care man. BE GOOD and STAY POSITIVE. Your friend, John

Hey everybody. I was thinking about how yucky it is when somebody hops on the ELM STREET boards over at IMDB and claims they know everything. You know, they've got the script...or they've got a cousin who starred in that movie...or they are friends with the casting director's uncle. BLAH BLAH BLAH. Now, I'm not sure why nobody on this board is commenting on how Brad removed that ELM STREET trailer from this blog as soon as I posted it my last comment. But I'm trusting ya'll to not feel the way I feel about those idiots over at IMDB. I AM NOT AN IDIOT! Brad Fuller never made any attempt to work with me, talk with me, or even spit at me. WARNER BROTHERS saw what was happening and now here's the catch. If Brad ever deletes my posts from this blog, they will sue him and Michael Bay for every penny they've got. Now ya'll can take this as an empty post like you'd read on IMDB, or ya'll can take it as fact. Either way, I really don't care. As long as nobody gets arrested/sued. I'm cool.........PEACE AND LOVE. Hello Brad... First I want to say that I love your work. F13 was awesome But we need to make Jason live forever as the darkest and most brutal horror icon ever... Dark and scary for f13 part 2. You did justice to the Remake now please for the fans make this franchise evil and scare everyone!!! Derick is amazing please keep him... I would love to see something that frightens me again... Everyone is talking about Myers and how scary his rendition was and Rob did a great job... But we all know Jason deserves to become even darker than that!!! After all these years on the screen make him The most powerful and frighting of all of them!!! I believe in You and your productions... Now PLEASE!! Take it to another level Make this film Horrifying!! Thank you Brad for doing the remakes Theses legends should never die :) God bless and happy Holidays.

I had another Nightmare with Freddy last night. Thought I would let everyone know. I'm trying to write everything down right now..........

Dunes Fan 3:36am, December 8, 2009

Michael Myers still stands as the best boogeyman ever...sorry to everyone who disagrees..lmao

Dunes Fan 6:07am, December 8, 2009

Unless Platinum Dunes can show me another side of Jason that i haven't seen before, Michael Myers will always be at the top of my "Favorite Boogeyman" list.

Update: Read this- Website Spoiler TV has posted a new casting breakdown for the Platinum Dunes remake of A Nightmare on Elm Street, which has been doing rounds of test screenings as of late. It appears that the entirely new scene will involve new characters. Maybe it'll be used as plot explanation to clear up something that confused the test audiences? Shooting additional scenes IS different than reshoots, so who knows the actual reason for the forthcoming filming. Being released by Warner Bros. on April 30, a group of suburban teenagers share one common bond: they are all being stalked by Freddy Krueger (Jackie Earle Haley), a horribly disfigured killer who hunts them in their dreams. As long as they stay awake, they can protect one another…but when they sleep, there is no escape. Thanks to CHUD for the tip.

Have u guy's started working on F13: Part 2?

K-HjLL 3:06pm, December 15, 2009

So you ever have one of those epiphany's.......I did and I wrote the first thing ever I mean ever except for some essays in college......JASON : FRIDAY the 13th was the first thing I have ever wrote........I never read a screenplay before I wrote it....I downloaded The Wild Bunch and Scar face the other day... I compared my way I have been writing the western......looks like Oliver Stones first draft of scar face in the way its written without shot but everything else thats happening on screen .......Stone wrote The Hand......Tarantino......From Dusk Till Dawn.......Palma Dressed to Kill........

K-HjLL 3:19pm, December 15, 2009

......You should shoot Peter Jacksons srceen play for the 4th or 5th or even in the 6th in the new franchise......I have an original concept for 2 or and 3......

K-HjLL 1:28pm, December 17, 2009

..............To whoever read my script or treatment..............I watched FRIDAY THE 13th(2oo9)in the series first this time around.... and wrote it in two weeks after I watched each installment of the franchise.....I started with FRIDAY THE 13th part 2 (1981) and I watched FRIDAY THE 13th (198o)last.........Victor Miller wrote the original in 2 weeks ................

K-HjLL 1:31pm, December 17, 2009

.........I just downloaded the screenplays for.....HALLOWEEN(1978)......FRIDAY THE 13th(198o).........And JASON X(2002).................Couldn't find FRIDAY THE 13th(2009).........................

K-HjLL 3:12pm, December 17, 2009

Oh, and the supernatural...........Thats the way Sean Cinningham himself wanted the franchise to go after the 1st film.................

K-HjLL 10:43pm, December 17, 2009

......I mean something different in every film..................

K-HjLL 11:25pm, December 18, 2009

......The ENDING..............If you take out all the dialog and cut it as one big Jurassic Park ending with the Raptors JASON chasing the prey......The scooby doo dialog explaination was to make sure the reader got the mechanics of the snare trap and the JASON KILL.....................I wrote it so you could shoot it at Camp Courage........If you shot it there sets left for the camp and items donated golf carts, costums, make-up, lights, computer equip you may buy once because something better came out by the end of the shot, chairs, equipment for the film, set props, cameras that you are going to replace for counselors to make camp videos etc.....all can be written off saving you thousand maybe millions........they tore down the house in The Final Chapter......that would have made a great directors dorm or speechys house......... which has two locations in Minnesota and one in California..........

bodypuzzle 7:33pm, December 20, 2009

You don't want to be the guys that screw up Freddy, huh? Funny, you didn't mind being the guys that screwed up Jason. How about you not f-up Friday the 13th Part 2; that'd be a good place to start. Oh, and to all the freaks in here talking about their scripts, I have a news flash for you: No one cares about your goddamned ideas. Seriously. Get a life.

K-HjLL 8:20pm, December 21, 2009

.............I wrote all the kills first...................................................... .............................................

K-HjLL 12:57am, December 22, 2009

DurantesInferno 11:33am, January 3, 2010

Okay Brad: the best movie is made by producers and Fans working together! And HAPPY 2010 EVERYONE! HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL OF YOU AT PD! ^^ I can admit I was a hater at frist.and glad that I Got to know, and kept an open mind. and the only teaser, was great! the look, getting even more of an upgrade? well, Actors do love to "prefect" themselves. and I LOVE JACKIE! So,this looks even better, and glad they are working on it!

topcatfilms 12:41pm, January 3, 2010

He's a ghost, a supernatural being. So why does he need realistic sounding burnt vocal chords? Does he smile, crack wise, or cackle? Is he evil? Was he evil before he got burnt to death? So far the teaser has turned me off seeing the movie. I know you guys like remaking things more vicerally (which worked great in Friday the 13th), but i'd like to see something more surreal from the Nightmare series. You have the budget and tech now to achieve some truly zany sh** that the previous films couldn't fully realise (NOES 3 got the closest). I worry that all your company's remakes are looking the same. You have a chance to change that with this property. Keep doing what you're doing with F13th though, hope the sequel is the same but moreso. Good luck.

Caseybecker 8:38pm, January 17, 2010

The trailer probably looks okay to most ppl because you've stolen iconic scenes from the original film. Still no answer on why you are stealing a highly respected writer/directors work when he has said he doesn't want this movie re-made. A movie he wrote! His characters! If it's not broke don't fix it - oh wait, you're only in it for the money, I forgot (and yes you f'ing are). Otherwise you might look at original material and try and (I know this is oughta the ball park for you guys at PD) make an original film, instead of giving us stuff we've seen done before, only done much, MUCH better. Why on Earth would Freddy have damaged vocal cords? He's fricking dead you idiots - he controls nightmares. I hope this movie bombs. I'm sure it will with fans and critics. It's like re-painting a rembrant. POINTLESS!!!

MLC 5:10pm, January 30, 2010

Hi Brad, the "Nightmare" trailer looks fantastic!, I can't wait!... will you use the iconic musical theme composed by Charles Bernstein? Good luck and thanks!

Caseybecker 2:13pm, February 3, 2010

They'll probably pack the entire movie full of heavy rock music. Hopefully Charles Bernstein had enough sense to make sure theives like Brad here can't get their hands on it.

MLC 7:36am, February 7, 2010

To me, the best film by Platinum Dunes is "Texas Chainsaw Massacre" by Marcus Nispel. It's a great remake!, very fun, intense and well done. "TCM The Beginning" was a very good one too (though I preffer the Nispel's one). And the worst they've ever done, in my opinion, is "The Unborn", no doubt, it's a very, very bad film. In fact, it's one of the worst films I've ever watched in my life. I remember watching it in a theater in Barcelona and when it ended I could hear many people, while going out of the theater, saying "it's pure crap"... it was a shame of film... I hope "Nightmare" will bring us back the good Platinum Dunes Touch!, and after watching the trailer I've got a good feeling about it!
