I'm pretty excited for this, Jackie is THE BEST pick possible by far and I'm so happy he made the cut. Like you said, there really isn't a working name that would work better. People are naysaying the script yet he's saying that its changing and gets better everyday..? leave the dude alone and make a movie of your own, write a script of your own, its hard work. Anyway, it sounds fuckin' excellent and I can't wait to see a NOES with some amazing make-up and dream sequences.

Platinum Dunes are talentless leaches. Their filmography tells all about what these fcks are doing in hollywood. Leaching off other peoples originality and talent. Isn't it funny that with a perfect story and characters they still manage to make crappy films. Maybe it's because they don't give a fck about the originals. No jokes? You and your crew obviously don't "get" Freddy. Also, changing his makeup to look more burn-victim-esque. Ever seen The Burning? While Tom Savini made it work in that movie, if Freddy wanders around being "scary" without eyelids and skin melted together on his face, I will laugh my ass off. Seriously. Freddy wasn't a mere "burn victim". He is, essentially, a ghost. But of course, the important thing for this movie is podcasts and all things hip and trendy. Hurry and finish this, so we can all forget about it and move on. I am sure there are plenty of other classics out there that you guys can screw up. I'll say it again... Don't hold back the way you guys did on the "F13" remake. IMO the best remake you guys have done was the "TCM" remake since it was well paced, had good kills, and had a lot of action. "F13" while entertaining, lacked some sort of passion and merely played like a KidzBop version of "Jason's Greatest Hits". With the advent of the internet and sites like Xtube, we can get our dose of tits online. I'd gladly sacrifice seeing several racks in a film if it will allow for more inventive and brutal kills. Please go all out with this movie and make the fans proud. If it's as good as even "A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master", then you guys will be successful. But if it's all tame and watered down, forget about it. Bring it all the way this time or leave the remakes alone. Also, for the F13 sequel, let's at least try for brutality on the level of parts 2,3, and 4. Nothing in the remake even topped Andy getting split in half while walking on his hands in part 3. If you are going to crib from the deaths of the past, at least take some good ones.

Brilliant I really cannot wait for this movie I think it could be the best thing Platinum Dunes has ever done and to everyone bitching about remakes I just think it is great that these movie's are being released to a new audience, a new generation. There are people who outright hate ANY remake, and then there are people like me who think that if you aren't going to fucking BRING IT, don't bother. F13 was tame as fuck. Sorry, it could have been retitled "10 ways to repetitively kill people with a machete". It was just lacking any sort of excitement. And the finale was already done in "Wrong Turn 2". Not that I can write a better script, but damn, the deaths left so much to be desired. Wade's death could have been more brutal. Amanda could have actually burned up instead of looking like she was scalded. A screwdriver should also never be used as a weapon ever. Bree should have been flung out the window Final Chapter style. And Trent should have gotten a fate worse than what happened. Also, if they were killing off Jenna, make it memorable so people can actually give a fuck. I know I never thought I'd see the day that I'd be referencing "I Know What You Did Last Summer" but when Sarah Michelle Gellar died after going through a lot, you felt bad for her. Jenna died so quick it was like oh ok. So my problem isn't remakes. It's the lack of any sort of shot of adrenaline to make them better. You can't make them scary, but you can make inventive kills and chase sequences. I just want to see these folks go ALL OUT... You are remaking Freddy, do it well. Don't be tame.

That police car looks WAY to stylized (the font).It looks liek a car from Transformers or something. Look at the police cars from Friday 2009 and Halloween 2007 and H2 2009. They look way better than this one. At least more fitting for a Horror movie. This police car looks like its from Metropolis. Sometimes keeping it simple is the better way to go. Hope they didnt go overboard like that on the Freddy makeup and outfit.

Brad, thank you for listening to us and making Freddy what we all want, as you are one of the few that actually listens to fans. No jokes, no clowns... a simply terrifying Freddy is what is going to make this film a true success. Although this may piss others off, I think you should refrain from showing us any pictures of Freddy before the film and keep it a surprise. It will be one more thing to keep in suspense and blow us all away. Keep up the good work as you always do!

This remake is truly exciting for me. Freddy was a character I truly feared growing up in the 80's. This remake makes me a bit nervous because to recreate the original classic and go more depth with it, it truly has to seem as though it's realistic and convincing. Other horror remakes in my opinion never lived up to the originals, although the Chainsaw remakes were very good. I truly hope everyone involved in this remake of Nightmare on Elm Street understands the importance of making it convincing and as real as possible...it will be the only way to win over past, present, and future Nightmare fans.

I think its great what you guys are doing and I cant wait for this film. I've been a Krueger fan since the 1st time I watched the 1st Nightmare and pissed my pants while sleeping. I woke up and knew I love this sick bastard. I read a couple of character reviews and Jackie is great for the film but I have a few ideas I think you guys should put on him. Freddy was a child murderer right? And he stalked his prey after death and before it. I saw that you guys have a scene where he's chasing kids around with a garden tool. Thats cool but you should make him more sedistic. Make him sniff bike seats and smell the kids hair and things like that. It give Freddy more of a sick edge rather than him just chasing the kids around. Another thing don't show a pic of him just yet, build the suspense around seeing Freddy, make us want more and more each time we check back with you guys to know the progress of the film. Back to the scene with the kids, as part of chasing them around make him seem as if he's got an erection from the thoughts of killing off kids or making them suffer. Freddy in the past was a sick S.O.B but lets make our new Freddy an even worse sick bastard by giving him more edge. The past Freddy had good punch lines and he joked alot...we shouldnt take to much swagger away from the character but I think Jackie might make it look really good. No jokes or punchlines could scare the crap out of people...make people think twice about messin with Freddy this time around. The less he communicates the better he'll kill people off. No monologue is good for Freddy but still he has to have some swagger just not a jokey joke kinda thing anymore thats Robert Englund's Freddy and Rob is and always will be the original KING FREDDY no doubt about it. I'm hoping the best for this film...I'm praying it makes people shut the hell up and then reply after the movie: "Oh my GOD these guys freakin rock for making this film the greatest film of 2010". Keep it coming guys and don't let people's words stear you guys from recreating a horro legend and remember unlike Mike, Chuck, Jason, Leather Face, Hell Raiser and every one else Freddy had a reason to become a sick son of a bitch...He was more real life than those guys...way more real life than those guys and he can never ever die...He's like bacteria and roaches they can only pass away if you nuke the entire world.

And another thing...The glove isn't a garden tool for all of you who think that. The Dunes aren't stupid they know what makes Freddy Freddy. That glove is apart of Freddy the garden tool is only for the scene when he's chasing kids not the entire movie. Why in the blue hell would they make a movie such as this remake and have the king of slashing walk around killing off teens with a got damn garden tool? Whoever thinks he's gonna go the whole film with a garden tool...Freakin idiots man I swear.

Talentless fcks cant come up with their own ideas because they aren't creative or good filmmakers so they take good movies and remake them into something crappier because they cant understand the underlying concepts of horror or basically anything. From reading the script, it is disappointing that Quinn's death is not the iconic geyser of blood as in the original film. It seems the best and most memoriable scenes from the original ANOES are missing. many of these changes are equivalent to taking Jesus out of the Last Supper or changing the Mona Lisa to a painting of a man. I hope someone at PD is actually reading these posts!

I love all the films produced by Platinum Dunes… all these classic horror films are revised with crisp production quality. It seems as though most people complain simply to provoke. Freddy Krueger was my all time favorite horror character and I can’t wait to see him updated – when you bring fear back into the Freddy name. I do respect Wes Craven (knowing that Freddy Krueger is his most beloved creation). His movies were by far the best… he brought “A Nightmare on Elm Street” to life Keep up the great work Brad Fuller. It was just an innocent suggestion. Don't get excited. Another one of your upcoming projects that I am really quite looking forward to is your remake of The Birds. I had suspisions that a remake was eventually going to be made, and I'm happy to see it finally coming to fruition.

Just be patient. To say that they don't care is really untrue and clearly not the case. If you're doing a film and going through filming, editing, makeup, cinematography, night shoots, etc., do you think you'd have time to update frequently? To say that you're never going to come back to the site is very immature. It's been confirmed by the site (Bloody Disgusting) that Jackie is contracted for three films, the remake and two sequels.

Ok I'm a fan of the original movies. But when I look at my DVD rack I don't say "These films suck I can do better." Isn't it interesting that all of their remakes suck and aren't as good as the originals. These people Brad Fuller, Bay, are talentless hacks. They aren't creative, they aren't't artists, they are looking for a quick buck. I wish beating the hell out of people was legal because these pussies need a good beating. To think that a studio exists to remake films is disturbing. They have no ideas of their own, they have no talent, and they're films wont be remembered.

Hey Brad & Andrew, here is the BEST possible idea for the "Friday the 13th" sequel...this is something that for some reason has NEVER even been touched yet with the franchise and that's the possibility of introducing Jason's FATHER "ELIAS VOORHEES" and here's why it's a good idea to do... First off as I mentioned this has NEVER been tapped into so really the field is wideeeeee open for ideas, you can have him either actually aiding Jason by dropping off supplies now and then OR you can have him be a character who helps the victims in the film, either way I really want to see this idea brought to life there is only so much you can do at Crystal Lake and this is something NOT YET DONE in 12 Friday the 13th Films. Seeing as how the sequel will make it officially the 13th Friday film I think it should be really special and this idea is special (IF DONE RIGHT!)

Just watched The Unborn in Blu-Ray and found the movie to be extremely entertaining. Watching it alone in the dark was awesome, I had chills throughout the entire movie. Very well done, as are all your movies... can't wait to see A Nightmare on Elm Street.

It's amazing when I read these comments that suggest Michael Bay, Andrew Form and Brad Fuller have no talent... it's beyond me to imagine that as so. When you follow the many sequels that spawned from each horror franchise, you'll find that Platinum Dunes can't be touched. In all cases their movies redefine that which we grew up with... giving us more depth to the field of horror.

* The following is reguarding the potential awesomeness of the Friday sequel, I know this was a posting on Freddy but im trying to put this message in alot of your guys' blog postings in hopes it will be read... Hey guys, i wrote already about how using some kind of storyline involving Jason's FATHER is a golden idea, one it's never done before in any of the 12 films... I ALSO thought of another great idea involving Jason's FATHER, and that is this: Ive noticed Jason isnt just "kinda retarded" he's obviously mangled in the face, but this too is also never explained and I think the PERFECT tied together explanation is that Jason's Father ELIAS is the one responsible for Jason's mangled face, because it's OBVIOUS Pamela Voorhees loved Jason too much to ever mangle his face in anyway, so how did it become so? Drowning isnt gonna cut away your face and make it look blistery like in the latest Jason, I liked the latest one, I honestly dont know why so many people complained, everybody wanted Jason to go back to crystal lake, you guys did that, everybody wanted to see young Jason and Pamela, you guys did that too, I can see how you guys really try your best to please the fans more than people appreciate. with that being said, from a huge fan of the franchise and im not against ANY of the 12 films in the franchise, they are all simply slasher films with fun, Id watch a Jason movie over the shitty Saw films anyday. So...to sum it up guys... For the Friday the 13th Sequel consider these ideas: *Include Jason's FATHER in this film some how some way for some reason, my suggested reason is to use a storyline explaining that his father Elias Voorhees was the one responsible for mangling his son Jason's face. *ALSO consider using the idea that perhaps Elias was actually having sex with a counseler while Jason "drowned" or "almost drowned" and that would be a pretty cool revelation as well. I just think there's got to be more to the mangled face idea because there's no reason or logical explanation ever really given. The original films kind of made Jason more grotesque with each film so it was a growing process, but in this remake/reboot he's already mangled as hell...but why? He wasnt mangled when he saw his mom killed just a bit inbred looking, you could even use something wacky like Elias was really like Pamela's brother or cousin to explain the retardation...but that storyline might not be too excepted well. but im just offering my two cents as a fan of this franchise. YOu could also easily insert some kind of idea mentioning that Elias was with the counseler and got caught but fled leaving the girl to defend for herself, and since Pamela is decapitated she never had a chance to go after him next, and so Elias disappeared for years and now has returned (for some reason youd have to make up) to crystal lake either to Help or Kill his boy. *And, although this following was NOT my idea, but from a user who posted it on here somewhere I saw a while back and their idea, which is awesome, is to actually do something involving snow for a damn change, I think it would be quite creepy to see Jason standing there as it is snowing and we pan in slowly all the way up into his eyes waht a awesome creepy moment that would be, but that doesnt mean it has to all take place in snow as I know the dick users are gonna be closed minded on that one, but most certainly it could be considered in the opening of the film and really catch people off guard with interest. I hope you guys consider my thoughts above, and this all was written specifically for Platinum Dunes to read and consider these ideas, I didnt write these for the users because there's always gonna be 1/4 who are closed minded dicks who get mad when they dont get their ba-ba. I know I'm a little late to the blog but as a mid-30's Nightmare fan, this remake is disgusting. You know, there seems to be a rash of these recently and I'm sure it has everything to do with catching the current generation of teens who will watch anything as long gore is involved. I'm willing to bet there will be no heart and soul to this film, unlike the original. It's nothing more than taking someone's art and rearranging it because you couldn't come up with your own. The original is a great film and shouldn't be ripped off my modern day copycats who care only about the dollar sign and care nothing about creativity. Why not just make a sequel? I know why, the kids wouldn't cram the seats like they will a remake. This is a disturbing trend in cinema. Reboots are OK if they are handled with care (Star Trek) or if the franchise had nowhere to go up to begin with (Friday the 13th) but the original Nightmare had substance and style and more than anything, it was creative. Don't even get me going on not casting Englund and not having Craven involved. It's a shame that this movie was made. It's even a bigger shame that it will - even though I hope not - make some profit. I'm sure the filmakers are patting themselves on the back for ripping off Craven and his vision while calling it theirs. I pray this film fails.
