Today it was announced that Nelson McCormick has signed on to direct Screen Gems' remake of The Stepfather, according to Variety. The story centers on a teenage boy who discovers his new stepfather is a serial killer who has murdered multiple families. Script by Joe Cardone takes a modern spin on the 1987 thriller of the same name that starred Terry O'Quinn. Greg Mooradian and Mark Morgan of Maverick Films are producing "Stepfather."
