From the Producers of the popular horror film Shutter (The Original) comes Dorm, one of the top grossing Thai films of 2006. On May 22nd it will graduate to DVD shelves nationwide courtesy of Tartan Video’s Asia Extreme label. Twelve-year-old Chatree is miserable and lonely after his transfer to an all-boys boarding school. His teacher does little to make him feel welcome and his peers bully him with tales of drowned boys and hanged girls. Chatree begins to feel his life is cursed until he meets and befriends a fellow student, who happens to harbor a curious secret. Dark and terrifying lessons are about to be learned in this school’s dorm and innocence will be lost forever… Dorm was the Official Selection of the Pusan International Film Festival 2006 and is directed by Songyos Sugmakanan, winner of Best Director for My Girl at the Shanghai International Film Festival. It features Jintara Sukapat, who acted in the American film Good Morning Vietnam. Thai, with English and Spanish subtitles, Dorm is presented in anamorphic widescreen, Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround Sound and DTS Surround Sound 5.1. Special DVD features include Commentary by Director and Cast, The Making of Dorm, Behind the Scenes, Deleted Scenes and Original Theatrical Trailer. Other exciting Special Features to be announced. ALSO ANNOUNCED She’s ba-ack! Featuring the ultimate and potentially most twisted long-haired scary Asian girl around, Arang will frighten DVD shelf space on May 8th compliments of Tartan Asia Extreme. A veteran female detective, So-Young, and her rookie assistant are investigating a recent series of bizarre and horrifying murders. All of the victims seem to have died due to an acid unleashed inside of their bodies. As the two detectives discover more about the case, they soon realize the serial killings may have something to do with a death that occurred ten years ago in a salt house. Before long, So-Young becomes plagued by nightmares in which the dead girl appears and the horrific killings continue to confound. Debut director Ahn Sang Hoon spent several years preparing the production Arang under the title Line. This film stars Song Yun-ah (Hotelier, Face, Lost in Love). Korean, with English and Spanish subtitles, Arang is presented in anamorphic widescreen, Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround Sound and DTS Surround Sound 5.1. Special DVD features include Commentary by director and Cast, The Making of and Behind the Scenes, Deleted Scenes and Original Theatrical Trailer. Other exciting Special Features to be announced.
