One thing that always pisses me off about the Oscars is that horror never gets any love- I think the last time was back when Silence of the Lambs was released. You know what I say? Screw 'em! We've got not only MTV's "Scream Awards" but Fangoria and FUSE's Chainsaw Awards, which is loading up with all guests and performers YOU want to see (no more falling asleep halfway through the show). Inside you'll find the latest news on the awards, which will air on fuse on Sunday, October 22 at 10 p.m. ET, 7 p.m. PT (with a “Black Carpet” pre-show kicking off at 9:30 p.m. ET, 6:30 p.m. PT).

Fangoria writes: Expanding on yesterday’s announcement that SCREAM actor Jamie Kennedy has been tapped to host the first televised fuse FANGORIA CHAINSAW AWARDS (which will take place in Los Angeles on October 15), presenters now slated to appear on the show include Rob Zombie and his actress wife Sheri Moon Zombie, as well as Korn’s Jonathan Davis, rap artist Chingy and rock acts The Used, Slipknot, Fall Out Boy, Gym Class Heroes and Cobra Starship. Says fuse general manager Catherine Mullen, “Awards shows can thrive or die due to one important factor: the nimbleness of the host. In Jamie Kennedy, we have the ultimate ringmaster, an improv genius who can make the most of the surprises that are sure to unfold when outrageous personalities from the worlds of horror and music collide.” Tom DeFeo, President of FANGORIA Entertainment, adds, “This horror-meets-music summit will need a sure hand to guide it, and sometimes to derail it, to make magical TV moments. With his kamikaze comedy instincts, no one is better suited to this task than Jamie.” As for the performers slated to appear, actor/musician Jared (URBAN LEGEND) Leto’s band 30 Seconds to Mars will take the stage, as will Avenged Sevenfold, with more acts soon to be announced. Says Mullen, “[Both bands] are not only fuse viewer favorites, but artists whose images and videos are directly inspired by horror films. We’re delighted that they’ll be on board.” The Awards will air on fuse on Sunday, October 22 at 10 p.m. ET, 7 p.m. PT (with a “Black Carpet” pre-show kicking off at 9:30 p.m. ET, 6:30 p.m. PT). Make sure to get in your votes here (polls are open until October 13), and for more info on the event, go here.
