My friends and I spent a good hour talking about how cool it would be if Judd Apatow took his crew and slapped on some proton packs and started their own Ghost Busters agency. It took only a few hours for our conversation to hit the web as a FACT. Well, here we are eight months later and Columbia Pictures president Doug Belgrad has officially commented on the non-news. Read on for the skinny. "It's not true," says Doug Belgrad, president of Columbia Pictures to the LA Times yesterday. "We have some great new writers working on a new script, but Judd isn't involved. Judging from the frenzy on the Internet, there still seems to be plenty of interest in the idea of doing another film, so we're certainly taking that as a good sign." What is interesting is that he reports that there are new writers on Ghostbusters 3. Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitsky were announced to be writing the screenplay back in September.
