After the success of THE UNBORN and MY BLOODY VALENTINE 3D, things have yet to slow down as Sony Screen Gems' Underworld: Rise of the Lycans just missed out taking the top spot in this weekend's box office. The third entry in the franchise took in an estimated $20.7m just behind PAUL BLART's $21.5. It's quite possible when the actual numbers come in that UNDERWORLD will take the #1 spot, but either way this is a solid opening for a horror film released with minimal advertising and also being the third film in a franchise. I think it's safe to say a fourth is on the way... and for all of you who are quick to proclaim horror dead, think again.
