The year is 2002. US Government Agents Leon S. Kennedy and Jack Krauser have been sent to South America to investigate the mysterious disappearance of young girls as well as rumors of a new viral outbreak. The events that unfold will recall a dark journey into the past where the betrayals and horrors of Resident Evil 2 and Code Veronica come full circle. Can memories of the past help stop the biological terror that has resurfaced to threaten the future of humankind again?

Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles sends a full cast of characters into a world where the lines between good and evil are blurred and the potential to go to the dark side lies within everyone. Leon S. Kennedy, Claire Redfield, Jack Krauser, Steve Burnside, and Chris Redfield all play their part in an engrossing storyline that will fill in the missing pieces from Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles.

The game’s on-rail, arcade shooter gameplay first featured in Resident Evil®:The Umbrella Chronicles, has been radically upgraded in Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles. With the focus on creating more terrifying experience than ever before, the camera now mimics the first person point of view, providing a more cinematic and immersive experience. Combined with an eerie soundtrack and a new graphics engine utilizing state-of-the-art technology, Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles delivers the most fun and accessible horror game on the Nintendo Wii™ yet.

Other additions include a new sub-screen which will allow for weapon configuration and use of recovery items regardless of time progression, as well as a new dynamic difficulty system that will modify the difficulty level according to their playing skills. These features help make the game accessible for both the hardcore and casual gamer.

Continuing in the survival horror tradition, Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles will increase the thrills and chills with an enhanced two-player co-op mode where players will be able shoot hordes of zombies on the same screen. Their conversations and interactions have also been improved to create seamless storyline progression during gameplay and a more intense co-op experience.

In development exclusively for the Nintendo Wii, Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles will be available November 27, 2009.

Features:
Two-Player Co-op Shooting: Invite friends and family to experience the horror alongside you in 2-player co-op mode.

Revisit Classic RE Levels: Experience environments and areas from classic Resident Evil titles such as Raccoon City from Resident Evil 2 and the hidden Umbrella laboratory from Resident Evil: Code Veronica, as well as scenarios that will be all new to Darkside Chronicles.

Fan Favorite Characters Return: Play as Leon S. Kennedy, protagonist of Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 4, his partner Claire Redfield, who appeared in Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil: Code Veronica, and others still to be announced.

New Camera System: Camera now mimics the frenzied viewpoint of the player, allowing for a more cinematic and immersive horror experience

Customizable Weapons: Players can collect gold to upgrade and customize their weapons for each battle scenario.

Dynamic Difficulty: In addition to the initial settings of Easy, Normal and Hard, the game’s difficulty level will adjust automatically based on the player’s skill level so that both old and new fans can have a fun and challenging experience.

Collectibles Galore: For true Resident Evil devotees, archive items such as characters, enemies, old documents and movies can be found throughout the game.

Man it looks great. I love that they're delving into Leon & Krauser's backstory and that it includes areas from my favorite RE titles, 2 & Code Veronica. The new cinematic camera takes on-rails shooters to the next level and it's awesome that they've been able to keep the suspense & atmosphere intact. Time Crisis 4 looks lame by comparison. The co-op is gonna be insanely fun, I really hope this gets ported to PS3 eventually, maybe to promote the new motion controller.
