Fatal Frame 4, Wii only, thus far, will be coming out, sometime. No release date is set, and all there really is to go on so far are some game play videos. I gotta say, not very exciting. I understand the game is more, scary than hardcore action or gore, but show something that's going to actually make me want to play the game. If more info comes about or more interesting videos, I'll let you know.
It reminds me a lot of the old Resident Evil games . . . you know, when the series was actually scary. Also, with Suda51 working on this, I have no worries. At all.
Play-asia.com sells the jap version now. But it's $70 and I think the Wii is region protected...
Played the first one on the Xbox and got the shit scared outta me. Doesn't look any better than the first 3 though. The Wii is revolutionary in the gameplay department but still has last gen graphics comparable to recent PS2 games. This could be beautiful on the 360.
I dissagree with you about Wii having last gen graphics. Games like Mario, Metroid Prime 3, and Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles look just as good if not better than the average 360 title. I've yet to see ANY game on 360 that impresses me graphically. At this moment I'm playing Soulcaliber IV and I can see little difference between the graphics it has the the graphics for Soulcaliber II, which came out 5 years before it. Even AAA games with "amazing! OMG!" graphics like BioShock and Call of Duty 4 don't impress me much. Still look like last gen games. There were parts in CoD4 that looked downright N64-ish. As far as games like Assassin's Creed and GTAIV, there is NO difference between a PS2 game and them graphically. I've put them side-by-side. I think the Wii version will be better than a release on another system because it has great controls, and the graphics aren't far behind the leaders on the other systems.
You should really give the Fatal Frame series a try. Fatal Frame: The Crimson Butterfly is a truly awesome game. The atmosphere, storytelling and generally everything abut the FF series is super creepy.
This series is easily one of the most overlooked. And the 'play at night and scare the shit out of yourself' value is the best of almost all the games I've ever played. I agree with Proud on this, part 2 Crimson butterfly is a must play (and the better part is your local game shop should have it in the used bin for about $10) Please give it a try.
I'm convinced! You guys are awesome with all the info
