Seven?!?! This franchise has just been going downhill sequel after sequel. Even the Feast writers couldn't bring it out of it's funk.

Yeah but look at the franchises that have a ton of sequels. Friday, Nightmare, Halloween... And they all just get worse and worse.

I feel like one of the few who still like the story (how gauche XD). Even just for a bit of entertainment. But I don't blame anyone for not really digging it. I just really really really hope Jill isn't Jigsaw. I might end up in the latter category if she is..

Up until 4 it was good, do we need a fifth? Actually, I think we do!!

The first Saw, though somewhat predictable, was quite decent. We had a cool enough locked room mystery and an experimental look at the lengths a person will go to in order to commit him/her self to survival and the survival of loved ones. We saw a serial killer with habits quite unlike anything we'd previously seen. And finally, we had a serial killer whose motive was to teach people to live and appreciate life. it was the most interesting and original serial killer innovation ever. But alas, with the sequels, what we're seeing is movie after movie being made with a mere fraction of the effort that was spent on the first and then hoping that the few concepts that made the first one good will hold the sequels up as well. And it's just not working. Saw has effectively become a soap opera.

Honestly, why does no one want to see more sequels, I mean seriously they aren't that bad, but if even if you think they are, the sequels wont take away from what the original did, its like how every1 hated the new halloweeen and were mad it was made, but just because it was bad doesn't mean it ruins how great the original was, sequels still need to be made even if they arent good we still hve the original, it doesnt detract from its greatness...

I wonder how they are going to amp up the this sequel's twist, which we all know there must be. I think it would be cool if, in the end, Jigsaw was actually just playing his part in a game.

Ok...I am with Lucksaw. The thing about 4 is kinda like 1....the difference is at least you know you know there is a need for more storyline to explain. It's hard to explain, but there was Saw. Than there was Saw II...Saw 3 was a sequel and a prequel, Saw 4 told us even more about what was happening and surrounded the first 3. Maybe you understand this, maybe not...I know what I'm trying to say, but putting it in words...well, never mind...I would love to see this franchise in a book form!!!!

I like the 'saw' series. The first one was okay but the story line was good. The 2nd one was better because it contained more gore and better CSI acts. The third was okay but it had really good gore scenes. The fourth was better because there was a better story and good gore.

I stopped watching these after part 2. I will however be watching part 17 when it comes out.

It's hard to keep making movies where people are going to expect a twist at the end; just ask M. Knight Shamalan. I personally don't care how much jizz they want to try to jerk out of this franchise, I just hate that the original and probably scarier movies that play at film festivals that should get released end up getting bumped all over hell so more of this crap can come out. Not really a fan of the Saw series - very overrated and dull in my opinion - but have always loved Betsy Russell! Check out her earlier films to appreciate her acting, among other things: Let's Do It! (1982), Private School (1983), Avenging Angel (1985), Out Of Control (1985), Tomboy (1985), Cheerleader Camp (1988) and Trapper County War (1988).

idk if this means anything but i was watching the special features on the saw 4 dvd and at the end they showed that they finished filming a scene and it was hoffman wrapped in a blanket outside the building which the 4th took place and he was telling officers that nobody survived could this be a scene from saw 5 already filmed? plus when they ran the prints on the bullet casing they never really said it was hoffman maybe its someone else possibly Jill?

It is obvious that Hoffman is NOT the person to carry on the Jigsaw legacy, simply based on the autopsy tape: You feel you now have control, don't you? You think you will walk away untested. I promise that my work will continue. That I have ensured. By hearing this tape, some will assume that this is over but I am still among you. You think it's over just because I am dead. It's not over. The games have just begun. 1. Jigsaw promised Hoffman that [MY] work will continue. This implies that Jigsaw excluded Hoffman from his work and legacy. And Jigsaw used the pronoun "our" when he spoke to Amanda, "You think about what you promised me. Think about our dreams." 2. Jigsaw told Hoffman, "You think it's over just because I am dead." What was IT that Hoffman thought was over? Obviously Jigsaw's work and legacy. Jigsaw knew that Hoffman was going to try to screw him and put an end to his work and legacy. Therefore, Hoffman was never the chosen one to be the new Jigsaw, nor will he ever be. Saw V will be about Hoffman trying to save his own career which is threatened by the "secret" mentioned in the official synopsis...his role as a Jigsaw accomplice.

I thought / still think Addison should have play(ed) in more of the Saw-movies . .. She COULD have just survived her trap, {the hand trap} .. It was revealed on a special feature on the construction of the trap for the set, that if she just walked to the other side of the box, she would see a lock with a key sticking out of it, which in turn would have unlocked the box and allowed her to access the antidote without any harm and then she'd free herself .. {and who knows .. COULD have stay(ed) as a regular character. .. like, perhaps "the next JigSaw", or perhaps "another apprentice" .. or WHAT-EVER .. ** SIGHH ** I REALLY think it's too bad, they way they decided to do it .. I love the SAW movies,i love the whole concept.They have a very strong emotional impact on me,it won't be exaggerated if I say they changed my life.
