We have some awesome news, that most of you won't appreciate until later this year. We received exclusive intel this evening that Jaume Balaguero and Paco Plaza are reuniting to direct a sequel to the off-the-charts-awesome Spanish horror flick [REC] (review), which has already been remade here in the States at Quarantine. The first film, which we're told Sony Home Entertainment will release in the fourth quarter of this year, a young TV reporter and her cameraman cover the night shift at the local fire station. Receiving a call from an old lady trapped in her house, they reach her building to hear horrifying screams -- which begin a long nightmare and a uniquely dramatic TV report.
Holy shit this is amazing news! I loved [Rec] and cannot wait to see what else they're going to come up with!
My only concern is that this movie really didn't set up for a sequel...
I dont know, this is one of those movies that wouldn't normally do well without a sequel, but I guess we will have to wait and see what they come up with. Loved the original btw.
If it's as solid as the first, no complaints from me.
