With Quentin Tarantino's "Death Proof" coming to DVD September 18th from Dimension Extreme, The Weinstein Co. set up a sweet little booth at this year's San Diego Comic Con to promote the release, which featured a legless Rose McGowan look-alike. No word yet on Robert Rodriguez's "Planet Terror", but this seems to confirm the rapid speculation that the theatrical double feature will be split up for the initial home video release. Death Proof is a rip-roaring slasher flick where the killer (Kurt Russell) pursues his victims with a car rather than a knife. Read on for booth pics. ...Read More

SDCC '06: 'Grudge 3' in the Works, Shimizu Finally Done?
Posted: July 25, 2006 @ 12:30pm

Sony has already started planning for The Grudge 3 - several months shy of the release of Grudge 2, according to Moviehole. But can Shimizu resist the temptation to direct yet again? At this year's San Diego Comic Con Takashi Shimizu, director of "The Grudge 2", tells Moviehole that the studio is keen for him to direct the second sequel [as well]. Though he said he'd like to be involved in some capacity - and he isn't ruling out directing it, yet - he would probably only produce it. He seems keen to journey beyond the world of "The Grudge".

SDCC '06: Venom and 'Grind House' Footage Seen!!
Posted: July 23, 2006 @ 4:32pm

This was the biggest Comic Con of all time as over 100,000 people were in attendance. The bigger panels such as for Columbia Pictures' Spiderman 3 had a demand from about 20,000 people while they could only accommodate 7,000. Because of this we nearly missed the first footage of Venom - but with a little balls and some serious bullsh*ting we were able to weasel our way in. In addition to this amazing split-second good bump inducing footage, we had the chance to see a special Comic Con made trailer for Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino's Grind House, which blew my socks off. Read on for the skinny on both... ...Read More

Raimi wrote, directed and produced the 1981 film, which tells the tale of a group of friends who go to a cabin in the woods, where they find an unspeakable evil lurking in the forest. Comic Con '06: 'Saw 3' Clip Gives Homage to Hellraiser
Posted: July 20, 2006 @ 7:04pm

About an hour ago I had the pleasure to check out the world premiere clip from Lionsgate's Saw 3, which was shown at this year's San Diego Comic Con. Director Darren Lynn Bousman promised more gore, more terror and more horror than in Saw 2... and he wasn't joking. This incomplete clip displayed a man who wakes up with chains attached to all parts of his body, Jigsaw taunts his inability to stay out of prison as he only has a few minutes to tear his flesh loose from the chains to save himself from sure death. It was easily one of the best things I've ever seen in this quickly growing franchise. Watch for more Comic Con coverage live all weekend long as Bloody-Disgusting will keep you posted on everything horror related. 'Saw 3' hits theaters everywhere October 27th, the trailer will be attached to 'The Descent' on August 4th.
