Frank Darabont's The Mist was one of Dimension Films' big films at this year's San Diego Comic Con, and at the con they revealed the official teaser poster for the film, which stars Thomas Jane, Andre Braugher, Laurie Holden, Amin Joseph, Marcia Gay Harden and Toby Jones. While at the press conference for the Hostel DVD releases, writer-director Eli Roth talked a bit about his next project Trailer Trash, "I had such a fun time with "Thanksgiving" (in Grindhouse)," he explains, "there's something fun about shooting trailers because it's all of the money shots!" He also tells us he's writing it with his brother Gabe, along with his friends Noah and Jeff (last names not given). He also revealed that he might bring in guest directors and Edgar Wright can do a scene from "Don't" if he wants. Additionally, Eli reveals that he is going to focus on Trailer Trash right now while the script for "Cell" is worked on.

In the middle of a slow and bizarre Warner Bros. panel at this year's San Diego Comic Con Kate Beckinsale showed up late to promote her film Whiteout in a really odd mood. She made numerous sexual references, jokes and was obviously referencing some weird internet rumors about her online. One such moment is when a fan asked what it was like shooting the film, she replied, "I got bruised and beat up alot... And I liked it," while she flashed a sly smile. Then when someone asked her how this film was different from her experiences on Underworld she joked, "I slept with the director a lot less." She then continued talking about how when she shot underworld crew would moan every single time she bent over in the leather outfit. It was clearly a stand-out moment in Comic Con history as I don't recall ever seeing anything like this.

While chatting with Hatchet (review) writer-director Adam Green, we also learned some new details on his upcoming adaptation of Dead West,"Jacob Forman (All the Boys Love Mandy Lane) has finished his first draft of DEAD WEST and it's fucking SICK," he tells Bloody-Disgusting, "We're being very careful about where and how we set this one up - and my schedule (or lack there of) has been an issue as far as getting things moving. I'm currently touring for HATCHET and I won't be stopping until mid September. So I'd expect it to be a few more months before we start spilling details on DEAD WEST. If only there were 7 more days to work each week." HATCHET hits limited theaters on September 7.

While attending Lionsgate's panel at this year's San Diego Comic Con, it was revealed that the MPAA has official slapped the first cut of Darren Lynn Bousman's Saw IV with an NC-17. Cuts will be made and the film will be ready with an R rating for release on October 26. Bloody-Disgusting also learned exclusively that Darren's beautiful girlfriend, Laura Bosserman, will have a cameo in the film. At Lionsgate's panel at the San Diego Comic Con it was revealed that Darren Lynn Bousman's (Saw II-IV) upcoming horror-musical Repo! The Genetic Opera has been given an official release date of April 25, 2008. "Repo!" focuses on a cruel entrepreneur who creates genetically perfect organs that everybody needs in 2056, and who is content to send in a repo man if the recipient can't make payments. Alexa Vega, Bill Moseley and Paul Sorvino have all been confirmed for roles. Watch for loads of news coming soon.
Contrary to what's being reported on the web, 'Monstrous' is NOT the title to Paramount's upcoming monster movie, JJ Abrams tells audiences at the San Diego Comic Con. "I want a great monster movie," he exclaims, "we need our own monster movie!" Abrams jokingly talked about how a recent trip to Japan inspired him and how we'll soon find out the real title.
