SDCC '08: Teaser Poster For 'Saw' Video Game

This afternoon we scored a look at the teaser one sheet for the official SAW video game, which you can find in all it's glory inside. In addition to finding the poster inside, the official website has now launched for the game, which arrives in 2009. SDCC '08: Robert Englund Teases Snow White-esque Horror Film

B-D reporter BC caught up with Robert Englund at the San Diego Comic Con to chat about his upcoming horror film, JACK BROOKS: MONSTER SLAYER. While talking monsters and gore, Englund revealed exclusively to Bloody-Disgusting that he has another horror project in the works, that's like a scary SNOW WHITE. "I'm directing [another] movie. [It's] kind of a dark fairy tale" he explains. "A fallen priest, a fallen angel... a monster and a dead girl in suspended animation - kind of SNOW WHITE." The movie is based on story by Russian author Nikokai Gogol. No other details were given.

SDCC '08: Watch the Official Trailer for 'Laid to Rest'

Today Anchor Bay Entertainment supplied us with the trailer for Rob Hall's Laid to Rest, which had it's world premiere yesterday at the San Diego Comic Con. "Laid to Rest" is a terrifying story of a young girl who wakes up in a casket with a traumatic head injury and no memory of her identity. SDCC '08: 'Vacancy 2' Gets a Release Date

We learned today that Sony Home Entertainment is planning a January 20, 2009 release for Vacancy 2, Eric Bross' direct-to-DVD sequel that stars Trevor Wright, Agnes Bruckner, Lola Davidson, Angel Oquendo, David Moscow, Nelson Lee, Brian Klugman and Gwendoline Yeo. When JESSICA, her fiancé CALEB and Caleb's buddy TANNER check into the lonely Meadow View Inn in the middle of rural nowhere, they have no idea that the motel is run by a homicidal maniac and two vicious greedheads who are making a bloody dollar by selling snuff films on the black market...

SDCC '08: 'Resident Evil: Degeneration' New Two-Minute Trailer

Today the second full trailer was released for Sony Home Entertainment's RESIDENT EVIL: DEGENERATION, which is slated to arrive in stores on December 30th. The "Umbrella Incident" that took place in Raccoon City was ended with the eradication of the deadly virus by a missile attack ordered by the government. As its operations were suspended on a global scale, Umbrella Corporation stock plummeted. This serious blow to the business giant resulted in its complete dissolution. 7 years later, at an airport somewhere in the United States. An ordinary autumn afternoon. SDCC '08: Jaw-Ripping Featurette For 'Mirrors'

20th Century Fox provided us with a featurette for Alex Aja's Mirrors, which is centered around the already infamous jaw-rip scene starring Amy Smart. Read beyond the break to watch and check back for some interview bits from the French director soon. The story follows a security guard at a high-end department store who begins to investigate mysterious deaths occurring in front of the stores' mirrors. SDCC '08: Crazy 'Chopper Zombie' Bike on Display

On display at the San Diego Comic Con was a real-life bike from the comic book Chopper Zombie, which was announced that it will be adapted as a live-action feature film a few weeks back. The bike motorcycle was created by Rob Hall's (Laid to Rest) Almost Human FX shop for the show. The comi is about a motorcycle builder who refuses to sell his formula for a new superfuel to a dangerous corporation. When a team of thugs drowns him in his own toxic creation, he rises from the dead with a score to settle. ...Read More

SDCC '08: 'Friday the 13th' Hard 'R', Deleted Scenes For DVD

Bloody-Disgusting caught up with Platinum Dunes producer Brad Fuller who will be at the San Diego Comic Con this Sunday promoting both Friday the 13th and The Unborn. He reveales to B-D that they shot multiple endings to FRIDAY, which might make it on the DVD release. "Nispel's cut will be too long, we will need to make cuts," explaining that there will be deleted scenes on the DVD. In addition, Fuller explains that Jason Voorhees' return to Camp Crystal Lake won't be a walk in the park. "There's hardcore violence, radical sex - it's crazy hardcore in every way!" SDCC '08: Alex Aja to Release 'Furia' Here in the States

During an interview with Alex Aja at the San Diego Comic Con, he revealed that we might finally see a DVD release of his '99 movie, FURIA, on DVD sometime soon. The film is a futuristic fable comparable to George Orwell's 1984, FURIA offers a bleak peek into humankind's possible fate. Check out the teaser poster that was on display at this week's San Diego Comic Con for The Goon. The Goon is a comic book series created by Eric Powell in 1999. The story is about the adventures of the Goon, a muscle-bound brawler who claims to be the primary enforcer for the feared mobster Labrazio. SDCC '08: 'Ghostbusters' Blu-ray Release to Carry Doc!

While news came in at the San Diego Comic Con that Sony Home Entertainment had announced an October 21st release for Blu-ray editions of both GHOSTBUSTERS and GHOSTBUSTERS II, no extras were revealed. After doing some digging we discovered that there are plans to include a brand new documentary for the release of the films in hi-def. More details on the doc as it comes, but from what we're told it should be huge.

At the San Diego Comic Con we stumbled across a one sheet for MGM's home video release of Dead Like Me, the feature film based on the popular Showtime TV series that ran two seasons. When Calvin Kane, a slick businessman who couldn't care less about helping the newly dead, takes over Rube's Head Reaper duties, all hell breaks loose, bringing out the worst in Daisy, Roxy, and Mason. George, however, is determined to set her latest, botched reap right, especially because the boy who was supposed to die, Hudson Hart, is her little sister Reggie's secret boyfriend. Something that came as a shock to me this morning is how much Lionsgate was promoting Repo! The Genetic Opera and not SAW V (although, more goodies could be coming. Inside you can check out all the promotional materials for Darren Lynn Bousman's film, which arrives on November 7th. In the not-so-distant future when an epidemic of organ failures devastates the planet, scientists gear for a massive organ harvest. Update: Toy comes courtesy of Gentle Giant. I apologize I don't remember which company is releasing this magnificent specimen, but I'll update this tomorrow when I find out. Inside you'll find a prototype of a doll being created for Guillermo del Toro's Pan's Labyrinth -- and it's magnificent! One of the coolest props at this week's San Diego Comic Con is a giant monster from Anchor Bay's upcoming Jack Brooks: Monster Slayer (review), which arrives on DVD October 7th. Inside you can take a look at one of the big baddies in the film directed by Jon Knautz. Jack Brooks is an angry, young plumber who has repressed the memory of witnessing his family’s brutal murder. I love when an actor comes down to our level and can live amongst the fans. Today Thomas Jane was rocking a booth solely for the purpose of promoting Simon Hunter's The Mutant Chronicles, which he stars in. Read on for a look at some teaser art being used at the Con to promote the film. 23rd century soldier Major Mitch Hunter (Jane) leads a fight against an army of underworld NecroMutants. Rea plays the former commander of Lieutenant Mitch Hunter (Jane), a 23rd century Marine who tries to save Earth by leading a band of soldiers against evil NecroMutants. SDCC '08: Anchor Bay Announces 'Dead Space' Tie-In

Anchor Bay announced this week at the San Diego Comic Con that DEAD SPACE: DOWNFALL will arrive on Blu-ray and DVD October 28th. The release is a feature-length animated film that arrives a week after the game arrives in stores from EA.
