One of the cooler items we got our hands on at this year's San Diego Comic Con was the first three one sheet from MGM's Drew Goddard's Cabin in the Woods, which stars Chris Hemsworth, Richard Jenkins, Bradley Whitford, Kristen Connolly, Anna Hutchison, Fran Kranz, Jesse Williams and Brian White. The posters are pretty awesome as they throw a little elbow at our beloved slasher genre, read on and tell us what you think. Much like "Cloverfield," which Goddard scripted, the "Cabin" story line provides a new twist on a classic scenario -- in this case the young-people-stranded-in-the-woods horror trope. MGM release the "end all" slasher film on February 5, 2010. ...Read More

While on the press line for Alice in Wonderland at the San Diego Comic Con, B-D stringer Tim Anderson (Tex) caught up with Tim Burton who tells us (and other outlets) officially that his next movie will in fact be Warner Bros. Pictures adaptation of Dark Shadows, which will star Johnny Depp. Over 1,225 episodes, "Dark Shadows" was a highly atmospheric, spooky soap that featured gothic horror staples like vampires, monsters, witches, werewolves, ghosts and zombies. The show has a continuing rabid fan base that populates Dark Shadows Festival conventions. Numerous TV revivals of the series and pic adaptations have been attempted over the years but none with as high-wattage a star as Depp.

Once thawed out, the corpse comes to life. While it's already huge news that we're finally getting a DVD release of the film, Tex just finished chatting with Dekker at the San Diego Comic Con who breaks the news exclusively to B-D that "If the DVD sells really well, they are considering a sequel."
