Last weekend BC has the pleasure of chatting exclusively with Friday the 13th producers Andrew Form and Brad Fuller, who were on hand at the San Diego Comic Con to promote their remake, which arrives in theaters February 13, 2009. The pic directed by Marcus Nispel is the retelling of the original Friday the 13th about teenaged summer camp counselors that are systematically slaughtered by a mysterious killer. Jason Voorhees will wear the mask and kill, keeping the famous setting of Crystal Lake.

Inside you'll find a hi-res look at the poster for the live-action adaptation of The Goon, a comic book series created by Eric Powell in 1999. This past weekend we caught an early look at the poster for Lionsgate's My Bloody Valentine, but when we tried to get a hi-res look, we were told the MPAA rejected the poster just like they did the HOSTEL: PART II teaser a year earlier. Empire scored a look, check it out inside. In the remake Tom (Jensen Ackles) returns to his hometown on the tenth anniversary of the Valentine's night massacre that claimed the life of 22 people. Instead of a homecoming, Tom finds himself suspected of committing the murders. Directed by Patrick Lussier, the film arrives in theaters January 16th, 2009 in 3-D... The San Diego Comic Con is so hectic that we rarely get more than three-minutes to chat one-on-one with a filmmaker, or star. Inside you can read BC's brief, albeit hilarious chat with the star who talks about her role and the possibilities of returning in a sequel. Click here for all Comic Con coverage. ...Read More
Announced at this weekend's San Diego Comic Con were two new books from writer Joe Harris (Slingers and Bishop: The Last X-Man for Marvel), which will be published by Oni Press. Newsarama reports that the first is a five-issue series called GHOST PROJECT that features art by Steve Rolston. The story takes place in the former Soviet Union and revolves around the idea that during the Cold War, the Soviets experimented with all sorts of weapons of mass destruction, including the supernatural. It’s due in late 2009 or early 2010. His second project, THE HASHISHIAN, is an original graphic novel with art by Trevor McCarthy. Harris said the name comes from a sect of assassins during the Crusades who were sent out to perform assassinations “drugged out of their minds,” Harris said. Harris responds to the projects on his official blog. Click here for all Comic Con coverage.

We checked in with New Line and apparently this isn't the final teaser poster, but a stolen image of the Comic Con poster circulating the web - the only difference is that "Comic Con 2008" will not appear on the final art. But either way, inside you'll find a clean look at the poster for Friday the 13th, which hits theaters February 13, 2009. In addition, we've received dozens of e-mails regarding the clip online and can confirm that was you see is an edited down scene from the movie, which will appear in the opening act of the film. At this year's San Diego Comic Con one of the biggest shockers for me was how hot Summit Entertainment's Twilight was. I'm excited purely because I love director Catherine Hardwicke, but apparently the book is HUGE and the fangirls were on hand screaming, yelling and fighting to be the first to see footage from the adaptation. SpookyDan sends in a report, that includes a brief interview with Hardwicke and star Stephenie Meyer. The film is about a high school girl named Bella falls in love with a vampire. The new couple leads a rival vampire clan to pursue them and attempt to force her to decide if she, too, wishes to become one of the undead. Read on for the skinny. My geek moment at this weekend's San Diego Comic Con was getting to play Sony and Activision's GHOSTBUSTERS video game, which arrives on all platforms this October. I had the chance to play it for a pretty long time and decided to write up my thoughts on the game and play style, which can be found inside. Too bad the panel was canceled because Dan Aykroyd decided not to show up (boo!) ...Read More
Some fun back-and-forth love at the San Diego Comic Con this weekend as A Nightmare on Elm Street remake news heated up. Platinum Dunes revealed to Bloody-Disgusting that they have yet to reach a deal with New Line Cinema to remake the film, but still, Englund says if they remake the film, he'd love to make an appearance. Dunes Producer Brad Fuller's response? "We'd love to have him!" So even if there's a new Freddy Krueger, maybe we'll still get a sweet cameo from the legend himself. Wesley Strick was recently signed on to pen the remake, which centers on Krueger, a serial child killer murdered by angry parents, who returns with a burnt face and a razor glove to terrorize teens in their dreams.
Very, very small news here, but equally important. While walking the floor of the San Diego Comic Con for the final time, we came across something really interesting. At the Mezco toy booth they had a red curtain covering a figure saying "The Wolfman". I asked if I could see and they told me Universal told them they couldnt show it, and apparently there's something shown that would ruin the movie. Either way, we can look forward to something cool from Mezco soon.
I just arrived home from the San Diego Comic Con to find a few news still revealed at the con. Inside you'll find your first look at Sony Svcreen Gems' Underworld: Rise of the Lycans, which feature Golden Globe winner Bill Nighy as evil vampire king Viktor and the new leading lady, Rhona Mitra, who replaces Kate Beckinsale. The prequel is set in the Dark Ages and traces the origins of the centuries-old blood feud between the aristocratic vampires and their one-time werewolf slaves, the Lycans. Hot chicks in leather, werewolves and vampires return to theaters January 23, 2009. ...Read More
While partying around at the San Diego Comic Con, we stumbled into Jamie Kennedy who talked with us a bit about the Scream 4 rumors. "Bob (Weinstein) wants us all to return in another film," Kennedy tells BD. "I don't know how I'd return, but he wants me back," he jokes. He also reveals that a whole new batch of teens would be part of the film. This morning we caught up with Wes Craven who confirms the heavy talks, but denies being approached to return, while his assistant gave us a firm "no comment." More info soon.
During an interview with Wes Craven to promote his upcoming film 25/8, the writer-director updates reporters on the status on a bunch of his projects. First, he has not been approached for the A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET REMAKE, which Platinum Dunes has also yet to sign for. The remake to PEOPLE UNDER THE STAIRS is likely and could be his next project - there is no take on the next film yet. A SHOCKER remake could one day happen, but not likely. On a sequel to 25/8 is tells us that it was planned as a stand alone film, like ELM STREET, but jokes "not everyone is dead at the end of the film."
