Today a very early teaser poster was discovered online for Nu Image's Train a remake of the classic '80s flick Terror Train starring Thora Birch, Derek Magyar, Gloria Votsis, Kavan Reece and Gideon Emery. The remake, directed by Gideon Raff, will revolve around a group of American college athletes who find themselves on a dangerous train in Europe. Read on for the poster.
Nu Image revealed this teaser poster this past weekend:
bollocs. I am so fed up with remake after remake. And if that wasn't enough, because of HOSTEL,they are over doing the whole "european terror trip" thing. Come on Holywood wake the fuck up and do something original.
Now that they have changed the title I simply don't see this as a remake. Anyways, cool poster and I can't fucking wait to see this. Thora will kick ass!
Well, the ridiculous whining over Hollywood remakes and "not doing something original" (as though remakes haven't been around almost as long as movies themselves!) aside, I'm not excited by this. If you're going to do a remake, why change the title? And nothing about that poster is particularly inspiring. It has a real "direct-to-video" quality to it.
Yeah this seems less and less like a remake: different plot, different characters, different title... I can't really see how simply being on a train is enough to qualify it as a remake.
