Why do studios feel the need to hire "music video" directors?? Just because successful filmmakers like David Fincher end up being great doesn't mean it's gonna happen everytime.
Besides, they typically don't have any understanding of story narrative or structure. They also ultra-stylize everything.
Whatever happened to hiring actual experienced "film" directors?
Also, I do agree that instead of good movies being remade as if they need to be improved or updated, remake bad films that had potential to be good.
